I've be employed at my company since January '06 and still haven't had a recitation review. Right now I'm thinking nearly quitting and changing the direction of my profession. As an entry level position, I'm not sure how celebrated it is for me to have a operation review before departure. I know there are positives and negative as to my performance but I'd resembling to know what my strong points are so I can emphasize them while interviewing for different jobs.
I settled to speak to my supervisor about a review and she told me the company singular does them anually. If things work out for me, I definitely don't want to stay here until consequently just to capture a performance review. But afterwards again, 'dI really would like something written because I don't want to use my current supervisor as a mention and end up getting a slap surrounded by the face.

It depends on what mission you're going for. You need experience more than anything. A level can put you ahead of other candidates for a brief but they look at the total package (and next to an associates, they aren't going to really notice that on your resume). I suggest working toward a bachelors later your MBA. With an associates and little business experience, you're probably going to have to start at the bottom and seize experience (and I mean A LOT of experience) previously you're going to be running anything.

My cousin has be asking for some career warning and was thinking of going into the IT pasture because of the high money. I know that in some areas of California, the IT relatives aren't demanding the high salary that they once were. It seem now that near are so many IT population and not as many political affairs contracts and projects because things that needed done were already done. Friends working for contractors are have difficulty finding jobs that salaried as much as their last contracts. Is this up everywhere? I'm not in the IT corral but have heaps friends who are and from what I hear... this doesn't seem to be the big money architect anymore.

IT is still going, going and going. Sure in the unpunctually 90s up to now a zillion family rushed out and got degree and certifications. But it became a dime a dozen helpful of thing.
The primary problem with those who do contract work is contained by not developing other skills or placing themselves with the right company. Your info is correct, but not necessarily for the reason you state. The main motivation is that many IS/IT job are being outsourced to places close to India where at hand are a lot of force with a big level of methodical skills who work for lower salaries than US personnel do.

Depends on what portion of the IT field you are discussion about. The Business Analysts, project manager, etc really cannot be outsourced/offshored, and the salaries are still pretty correct. Code Monkey's on the other hand hold been have a tough time, as that stuff is offshored a lot more effortlessly. My advice to him is if he requirements to go into IT, at hand are still a lot of job out there, and the salary can be pretty good- but he needs to swot both technology and business, and be able to own a foot in both areas. That is where on earth you can bring a lot of expediency, not be offshored, and get a well-mannered salary.
I a moment ago received 2 job offer for $100k+ for a sales plan position. The money is still out there but it will undeniably depend on your specialty and your non-technical skills and experience. Highest paid will other be in revenue generate positions (ie, sales, presales). Most industry press is truism there is a measured up-tick within salaries (see infoworld.com, computerworld.com, etc.)
My proposal to your cousin is don't choose a career simply because of the expectation of high-pay. If he doesn't relish working with technology, he/she probably won't product much money in it.
I agree next to the earlier poster who said low rank coding (monkey) jobs will verbs to be outsourced, you need project government, leadership, sale, people skills etcetera to command the lofty salaries.
