If you're already hired and you're going for orientation, basically wear something that you would normally wear to work (following the Old Navy dress code, which will be explained to you surrounded by the orientation). You could other try babysitting for people around you. Make sure you cart a babysitting course , that always help. Mow peoples yards. Some sports car places are looking for people to mop up their cars on the lots. Also have a sports car wash at a devout location and you will probably make virtuous money.
I know you're not looking for a 'little kid job,' but I'm 17, and I'm have trouble myself, because of my age. If the name center is telemarketing, then no! If it's answering phones--customer service-type stuff, it could be great experience and you'd probably congregate a lot of other culture working there.
Dairy Queen--it's sort-of more outside. If you're youthful, you'd probably meet like mad of people your age...I stingy it's a more fun environment. Food service is a very tough paddle (anyone who tells you it's jammy has never done it).
Working next to the public is NOT easy, so do you want to do it face-to-face or over the phone.
If it's a summer commission, I think I might jump Dairy Queen.
