Was I wrong to make conversation just about frail boss?

I have a modern boss. Last night I emailed him that I be meeting beside my old boss today (not the guy New Boss replaced, but someone I worked for a long time ago contained by an entirely different job) to pursue some business for our company. Old Boss is very lavish, powerful and a well specified name surrounded by our town. New Boss, who is usually very email-chatty, never replied and hasn't emailed me adjectives day. He also never asked how the interview went - unusual for him. New Boss is nice, but pretty youthful, and has never manage my position before. I'm thinking he's any jealous of Old Boss, suspicious that I'm hitting Old Boss up for a situation (I'm not - he was an giant to work for), or just feel weird that I worked for a chunky hitter like that and I may be judge him unfavorably in comparison. Or am I reading road too much into it and need to chill? New Boss doesn't give the impression of being to be petty or insecure, but today felt odd. Thoughts?

Best bet, act approaching nothing is wrong. Make trustworthy you work politely and professionally. Even if NB was within fact concerned/jealous, it will fade. You weren't gossip, so your actions do not inevitability to be explained or excused.
Maybe new boss be too busy to check his e-mail, or maybe he feel it didn't need a reply.
I regard you ARE being a touch paranoid...just forget going on for it.
You're being a bit insecure. NB may a moment ago be busy, or may indeed be feeling selfish or insecure - too soon to say.
If it still feel weird after a time or two, approach NB and say something similar to, "It's been chilly the ending few days. Did my e-mail about seeing OB for lunch upset you? You know I really relish working for you and I'm not going anywhere - just visit with an weak friend."

We tend to leave details out of emails so our conversations are more shifty than in being. Re-explain in party which old boss you are council and that its to bring in money for the CO. It depends on where on earth you are hired and the reason you received no training. You are drastically likely to find yourself within "sink or swim" scenarios at companies (notice I said companies, not CPA firms) that own either have quite a bit of turnover (no one really know what's going on), are struggling (newly created dept, growing too fast, not growing quickly, not enough capital), or are trying to cut costs any course they can (this one's bad, b/c adjectives costs by cutting training programs will completion up costing them more in the long run).
I am also an Accountant and enjoy found myself in similar situations on two occassions. The first be at a company who had merely gone through some huge turnover (lost a bunch of people at alike time). I started in the middle of the closout process and have to figure things out for myself b/c everyone be too busy to train me.
The second was a available job where the company have grown so fast that they immediately found themselves in a fruitless situation. They hired me to straighten things out and create a whole strange department to make sure things be getting done correctly. No one had time to train me on anything b/c they could almost not keep up next to their recent growth.
Obviously, it's not always discouraging to be in this situation (I know what I was getting into near the second job I mentioned above)...and surrounded by some cases, can be very rewarding. This is why you MUST ask in the region of training programs before you adopt a job bestow. If they tell you that you will hold to figure out a great deal for yourself, chances are right that they are also paying you a higher earnings than they otherwise would.
BUT....This is NOT typical of CPA firms. Accountants are not expected to know everything (even if we've passed the CPA exam) b/c there is sooooo much info - especially within the area of excise!! If you don't feel comfortable, you should ask for some training. It would be much better than making a mistake that could cost the firm thousands (or more!). Do you at tiniest have a senior who reviews your work and offer advice? (this is a form of training). If they are not prepared to give you some training, next you should thank them for the experience and find another job. This CPA firm is asking for BIG trouble if they are hiring not long graduated accounting majors and expecting them to know how to perform next to no training.

The biggest things I look for are eye contact, answers that don't nouns rehearsed, and sounding like they really want to work. If I ask them if they can work weekends and holidays and they delay before answering or won't look at me when they answer, they will not be working here.

Unless you can do hard physical labor or entry rank work, or you have it contained by with someone that's hiring or you own a degree it's really difficult to achieve a job. Especially for women, elder people, and inhabitants with strength problems. I know it sounds lame with what you're going through, but don't provide up. Keep telling inhabitants you're looking for a job and hopefully they can hook you up.
If you don't enjoy a marketable skill that's in constraint, then I'd say aloud get one. Employers will " bend over backwards " to accomodate you if you hold what they're looking for. That's about as simple as I can put it.
I would try to bring back on as a recruiter at a head hunting firm or Executive Search Firm if you want to be politically correct. My wife did this from home while within the theater...she did plays and had crazy rehearsal schedule.

I am not in Chicago but I business with greatly of temp services at my job here and they charge me almost 50% more then what they would income you. For example for an admin job (like file, answering phones, general organization stuff) I might pay approaching 15-18/ hour and they would get around 10-12. This is surrounded by the Philly area though
Five years ago I worked at the University of Chicago and I would hire temps for mixed offices when someone go on vacation or sick vacate, etc. At that time a temp was remunerated anywhere from $12 - $15 per hour depending on what company I used.
