Answer:
Apply to all the airlines beside CV and i know this sounds sexist but vital statistics including distance from the ground as they will ask for these on an application form.
Airline School. They train you how to interview with Airlines.
Did she travel to the airline website to see if they are hiring? She can also call the airlines to ask if they are hiring air-stewardesses.
distribute a letter to British Airways, UnIted, RyanAir, British Caledonian, Delta, American, Southwest, or doesn`t matter what other airlines she is interestedin working for, inquiring after the procedure and application
Different airlines have different requirements. You might close to to look at www.virgin-atlantic.com and click on 'All About Us'. I've copied some of it below:

I would advise your granddaughter to ring up her local 'Connexions' organization (careers service) and book an Adult Guidance appointment. It is completely FREE. They will tell her adjectives she needs to know.

Here is the address / phone number. She have no excuse not to phone!

Connexions Centre,
40a-41 Dover St, Canterbury, CT1 3HQ - 01227 479150

I hope that this helps. Good luck!
Firstly, usually most airlines constraint certain criteria contained by regards to enlightening background (sometimes, depends on airlines!) and personal statistics to join health and safekeeping regulations such as height anyone an important one, standard health (i.e. epilepsy etc) as resourcefully as that necessary strength and means to close the door etc! I would advise her to check these out to avoid getting her heart set on something she will be excluded from doing. A quick check on the airline websites can confirm this for her.

If adjectives is good beside the minimum criteria I would look at her CV. If I were screening her CV I would probably look on her more favourably should she enjoy experience in hospitality i.e. waitress, pub person etc as powerfully as customer services and ability to touch customers as both skills are key to the role. Should she be preferred for an interview she will need to demonstrate these competencies to her interviewers. Before applying as it is awfully competitive (my friend applied!) I would try and demonstrate this on her CV to attain chance of successful the interviewers over! She will also need to convey that long working hours, stressful and difficult customers as ably as travel and shift work is something that not only will she be healthy to do but also be sure that she wants to do that!

I would next start drawing up a list of the core airlines in the nouns who are hiring. Even if it doesnt say on their website a fast call to the HR department cannot injure her to find out the main recruit events or whether they are on a more ad-hoc basis. She will involve to expect quite a thorough process and be prepared for rejection - it is so horribly competitive!

If she is turned down or probably if she wants to bring more experience first I would look at similar jobs i.e. attain experience working on trains as the customer assistants. It's a very similar duty and I am sure it would be looked upon favourably! Or, obtain a job as ground staff at an airport - you'd incontestably be the first to hear about roles and your chief would be in a position to recommend you as okay as the fact she can receive friends and become known by the recruit function! Skills that would also be very adjectives are languages so a stint working out of the country to learn a verbal skill i.e. a holiday rep may not harm her as she will again gain to know the holiday companies who have airlines resembling First Choice or just anyone able to prove that customer service and the faculty to communicate are one of her strengths. Also, if employed by another company with panorama of becoming an air steward appropriate advantage of first aid courses they may extend her that she can put on her CV and prove that she could save a energy if required etc.

Location is key also and she requirements to be happy that she would any commute in to London (city), Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick etc or even move if required overseas or around the country for the right opportunity and prove this to the recruiters.

I option her the best of luck and I hope this helps. It is such a unyielding career to return with into so I would focus on getting that cracking CV the recruiters cannot say no to!! Personally fairly her than me but I hope it goes powerfully!!
Go to the web site for airlines that are base in your country and see if they are hiring. If so later she can apply through their system to go to training and schooling as they require.
If she buys magazine like Glamour, Cosmopolitan, etc they regularly have advertisement in the hindmost pages for job, these usually include Cabin Crew as well as Holiday Reps, the Police and Fire Service etc, which hopefully should consent to her know who is hiring at the present time and what their requirements are.

Just as an extra note - I enjoy a friend who works as cabin crew for BMI, after her interview she told me that she have never been for a profession where the applicants be so competitive with respectively other so she needs to be prepared for that!
Has she tried "applying"? It might comfort!

Seriously, how about going any to an Airline School or a Hotel School?

Why am I targeted?

Question:
I always enjoy to deal w/ sexual singling out @ the work place. At one job, the executive told me what he was going to do to me the subsequent time I came surrounded by. I was 17 at the time. He be grown w/ a girlfriend. She started to treat me bad. I get scared and quit. Thats one experience. It seem I always bring harassed. Does this other happen to women?

Answer:
I can't put in the picture you why you are 'targeted' however, sexual harassment surrounded by the workplace is never to be tolerated, and it is not the fault of the subject. You are completely within your rights to report any incidents of singling out to your supervisor, his supervisor, or better yet, directly to Human Resources.
It happen to men to,their to embarrased to talk give or take a few it.
Well, "got Curves" is your ID and specifically your answer. Do you dress flirty? Do you flirt with the boss? You might consider your whereabouts. I'm not accusing you, just wondering. I find that sexual hounding usually doesn't happen at the work place unless the girl provokes it. Keep to your undertaking and don't dress sexy. See if that helps. Keep those curves secret.

Job Interview: waiting to hear support after 2 rounds of interviews. Should I engender contact or lurk on them?

Question:
It will be two weeks this Thursday since the second interview. I was told that I would most predictable be meeting next to the director in a third interview, but the previous interviewers could not explain to me when this may be. What is the correct way to budge about handling this short coming off as pushy? I would only just like to enjoy an idea of what and when the subsequent step might be. Do I need to breed contact? If so, any suggestions?
Thanks!

Answer:
I'm an employment specialist. Your best bet is to hang tight. The director is busy and he will procure to you as soon as he can. If you haven't already done so, send a thank you reminder for the interview you have already gotten. In that memo, besides thanking them for the interview, tolerate them know you are still interested in the position and that you look forward to audible range from them. Don't sweat it, though. These types of things can stretch on for a month or longer.
Wait. & Find new.
I would contact them if I be you. It shows that you are interested in the chore and that you're serious about it. Just call for and ask them the status of your application process. Good luck!
they should have call by now. i don't devise u got it!
I would fashion contact via a thank you note.

"Dear XXXX,
Thank you for taking time to draw together with me on (date) about (position). I look forward to your decision. If you enjoy any other questions about my qualifications, please do not waste time to contact me at (number)."
Did you send a thank you entry to the interviewers after your interviews? That's a great way to touch plinth with them lacking seeming pushy. Make sure you hand-write it on a nice Thank You note card and post it (as in, DON'T EMAIL IT!). It will really impress them. Say something similar to, "thank you for meeting near me.....blah blah....I am really interested in the position...blah blah....I look foward to audible range from you..."
Did you write a thank you after your interviews? If not get one rotten and tell them immediately interested you are in the position and that you will be contacting them in a few days. If you already sent one I would hail as and let them know you are still interested. They don't want someone to pushy but they do want someone to be exact very interested within the position. Good Luck!! Job hunting is hard!!
Contact them. It shows how much you want the chore and that you have well-mannered follow-through.
You should absolutely formulate contact. I am assuming that the above described interview somehow relates to the arts industry of which I have definitely no knowledge but I hold no doubt they are accustomed to individual inundated with feedback call. Two weeks is a long time I would think but am not aware with the industry. If they give you a number in writ to contact them post-interview...use it. You would not be coming off as self pushy. You are interested and you want to know whether to pursue other directions if this particular situation is not going within your direction. I can almost guarantee many masses people own called already. Did they communicate you that they would let you know any way? Regardless, my instinctive counterattack is that if you are posing the question, that contained by your heart you feel you should enjoy heard something at this point and if you hold not there is nought wrong with inquiring.
Definitely return with in touch to find out the status. You are not individual pushy; you are very interested on the charge. It is normal to hold several interviews with the following: HR Representative, Director/Manager and your instantaneous boss.
My suggestion: Let them know that you already another job tender other than theirs but you prefer their company base on bla, bla, bla. (elaborate by repeating what you have to bestow to the company). Their main interest is why you are an asset to their company. I desire you the best!
My dad does the "hiring and firing" at the company he works for, and he's always said he's most impressed by race who work to keep contact.

There are a few ways to travel about it.

Call them. Say you appreciated the opportunity to speak next to them, and ask if they've made any decisions however. If they say no, speak, "Okay, well, I look forward to audible range from you soon." If they say yes, and you hadn't be called roughly further interviews, say, "Okay, in good health, thank you for your time. I hope you'll keep me contained by mind the next time you hold an opening."

Since you really know awfully little, and you've already gone through a few interviews, you may just want to dispatch a professional thank you note to the being you've met with, thank them for their time, and say that you hope you'll hear put a bet on from them and that you'll get the fate to work with them soon.

This serves as a courtesy (thanking them for their time) and it also let them know you're serious about wanting to be given the opportunity to work near, and it just keep you in their radar within a positive light ("That nice guy wrote us a thank you transcribe...")

I think that it is possible to thieve things too far, but my dad has told me that he's have a guy before telephone him weekly to ask if they were hiring and to permit them know he was interested within working there, and my dad appreciated the guy's perserverance. However, this is contained by a career where on earth people come and jump quickly, so he really be almost weekly looking to hire new guys as others took projects at other places.
Write a follow-up epistle. Say " I appreciate the time you've taken to speak with me thusfar and I would close to to let you know that I am exceedingly interested in the position available. I believe I will be an asset to your company and would close to the oppurtunity to work with you. Enclosed I enjoy included an additional copy of my resume for your convenience."

Question:
Although I've had a couple freelance assignments, I've be largely unemployed for the recent past 4 months. I have be both travelling and out of town for an extended period due to kinfolk illness.

How do I switch this on my resume? Do I leave my concluding position as the first chronological entry of my professional experience? Or begin near another entry such as 11/2006-Present: Freelance consultant, blah blah blah? Any better ideas?

Answer:
Hi, I'm contained by HR. I do a lot of recruit and the key to this is a correct cover letter. First of adjectives, in today's open market, 4 months is not that long a gap, so you shouldn't verbs enough to transfer your chronological resume. If you are legitimately doing freelance work, however, you should put it on as your present occupation. If you do this, you don't have much explaining to do. If your time out of everlasting work goes on much longer, enunciate in your cover notification that you've had to do unpaid freelance assignments to handle a people illness, but are in a minute anxious to get put a bet on in the pen full time. It's not giving too much personal information and it shows that you are staying active and current contained by your field. You shouldn't enjoy much problem. Good luck
good entity is to tell the truth,
you supply anything you were doing during you period like home projects or social services or anything
Use the freelance consultant in at hand. If they ask you about it, mention the few job youve done. Say that you decided to do freelance work because you hold had several personal ancestral issues that have be resolved (be sure to mention the resolved so they know it wont affect them) that required more time than a regular job would allow. Honesty is the best answer, they will know if you are bs-ing them.
Lie - recent studies suggest that upwards of 60% of items scheduled on resumes are bullshit. Just extend your last morning of employment a few months.
Don't lie - it can lone hurt you. List your last position next to accurate dates and set out it at that. If it comes up in the interview process consequently just honestly answer what you've be doing and why. Or, have another clause on your resume titled "Additional Work Experience" where you account freelance assignments you've done with their corresponding date.

Off sick when due to embezzle annual hand down?

Question:
do i recieve sick pay (or ssp if no sick time left) and retake the holiday another time, or do i own to have it as holiday. I do own a doctors note covering the interval of holiday.

Answer:
that depends on your workplace. If you are out of sick pay, afterwards the days missed will count against you, which is not good. If they allow you to use your holiday remuneration in it's place, do so, and in consequence keeping a clean account.
Contact your HR department, and phrase your question more clearly next to them.
As Wolfgang's comments above
we can reclaim our hols when we're on sick if it overlaps, each firm is different see personnel
You "should" procure your holiday back and transport the time you were bad work as sick leave BUT some employer aren't like that and form you take it as holiday if you've already booked it. I know when I have a holiday booked and was bad all through it, so couldn't run away I got my holiday hindmost.

Good luck.
You should receive employers sick pay packet and also you are entitled to have your holiday entilted still.

However, do speak to your HR department (personnel). You are covered by your doctors data so stop worrying.
Jo wouldn't want to be within a mile of you surrounded by thunder storm,,

HR might listen to your problem and give you leave time,, but don't bet on it,, actually,, don't bet at adjectives. Jo thinks it's basically one of those bad things that come to pass.
You cant take it as holiday when your stale sick especially if you have a doctors licence. I been through adjectives that you will get ssp & will hold to take you holidays at a next date.
It will count as sickness and your annual leave will stay intact to use when you are vertebrae at work and well. If you are sick you are sick.
Each company is different but most will allow you to revise scheduled time stale in lieu of getting sick.
If you enjoy sick pay, you should receive that. Some companies enjoy if where you can use your time off time to be compensted if you don't have any sick time vanished.

The doctor's note should trade name it to where you aren't penalize for missing the day. Some places of business penalize associates for missing days that are not excused.

Also, if you've not be with the company more than 90 days, you may not be eligible for sick time or break anyway.

Talk with your HR (Human Resources) or officer to see what your company policies are.

Hope you get to sensation better soon!
Call your work and ask them what can be done, since you are sick it would be a waste to hold to use your annual leave when your sick.

They will know how to give you the proposal that your needing since every work place is different. You will as you would expect want to contact your human resource department. Good luck, I hope they will be able to aid you so that you don't have to leftovers your annual leave and can use it another time.

I hope you be aware of better soon.
Hi
It really depends if it states anything in your contract around it, as there are no statutory jargon for this.

If there is nought in your contract consequently it is likely it will be treated as holiday and you will receive doesn`t matter what pay you would own got whilst you be on holiday, you will then not be allowed to hold your holiday in lieu.

If your contract states you are NOT allowed to steal holiday in lieu of sickness, consequently you will get Sick reimburse and it will be offset by your employer against any holiday money you would go and get.

If your contract says you CAN run holiday in lieu of sickness, afterwards you would get your everyday sickpay wages (including any SSP) and then help yourself to the holiday later on.

Hope this help!
