Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Is walmart a polite place for employment?

Question:
i am a full time student do you think i can earn an okay living at walmart until i graduate?

Answer:
If you weren't a woman, don't mind working overtime beside no pay, and don't mind working beside people who are undocumented workers-it's a great place to work!

Walmart is individual sued by 1.6 million former and current female walmart workers who are claiming sex nouns ( that they were rewarded less than men doing impossible to tell apart job, among other forms of nouns ). It's the largest private civil rights, class-action case surrounded by the US.

Walmart has to reimburse $33 million to workers it "accidently" missed paying overtime pay to. Walmart also lost a $78.5 taste for making Pennsylvania staff work "off the clock" and through rest breaks; some manager threatened to fire workers who refused to work overtime for free.

Walmart have been within trouble for hiring illegal (undocumented) workers across the US. They be fined $11 Million dollars for the "error".

Good luck!
There will always be ups and downs contained by any jobs. You call for to think positive and prove yourself.
NO. Don't do it. It would be a huge mistake. You will be happier at any other living.
YES! i work at walmart and have be for the last 4 years. they will work near your school calendar and certain areas of the store hold different pay. for example, cashiers clear more money then citizens in the appareal (clothing), it a moment ago depends on the department and what you are willing to cram. they like to clash up people to their interests. also if you are going to institution for management or some type of business, walmart does enjoy internship programs that pay in good health. if you have any question please email me!
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll naw

they make you work 20 hours for $1.50 respectively hour....

y do u think that they own a lot of lawsuits nearly work conditions?
Wow! Don't even get me started. You really call for to see the documentary "Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price". It will shock you. Rent it - today!

The things that I think are most "evil" roughly speaking Walmart are:

1.) They drive local businesses (a.k.a. your NEIGHBORS) out of business.
2.) They drive manufacturers out of business, by demanding produce at such a low cost, that ends aren't met. (This almost happened to Vlassic Pickles... they couldn't afford to own Walmart NOT carry their products, but be having to practically bequeath Walmart the pickles for free.)
3.) Walmart goes to great length to keep Unions from forming surrounded by their stores, which allows them to treat their employees horribly, and not confer any protection to their employees. They in truth have kit used to spy on their employees, so that anyone CONSIDERING forming a Union can be fired.
4.) Walmart offer healthcare benefits, but the benefits are so expensive, and the employees are salaried so little, that at employee orientations, human resources are given handouts about foodstamps, welfare, and government-paid low-income healthcare, and what they requirement to do to apply. In other words, they expect the taxpayers to pay for the employees' benefits, even though they are the richest corporation surrounded by the world.
5.) They tend to hire elderly and immigrants... ancestors who have a thorny time finding a job anywhere else, so that Walmart can seize away with paying them little and treating them poorly.
6.) The system actually subsidizes Walmarts.... within other words, town governments want a Walmart contained by their town limits so weakly that they actually PAY the Walmart up to 1.4 million dollars per year JUST to set up shop within the town. (Because that Walmart will bring in extra tax revenue for the town.) In other words, your excise dollars are also being used to BRIBE Walmart into anyone in your town within the first place!!
7.) Workers are not allowed to enjoy overtime. Yet they are forced to stay late. Managers are skilled how to flub their hours in the system so they don't hold to be paid for them. There hold been MANY lawsuits within the last few years where on earth old workers have sought (and won) pay cheque for these "lost" hours.
8.) The Walmart factories are sweatshops. Factory workers are qualified to lie to inspectors going on for how many hours they work and how much money they brand. A jacket sold at Walmart costs the customer $30.00. It actually cost $1.00 to trademark, and of that $1.00, only a tiny fraction of a penny go to the factory-worker who made the jacket. Insane!
9.) Walmart uses the tactic of opening up within a new town, have prices drop SO LOW that all of the relations in town grasp accustomed to shopping there, and adjectives the little businesses in town shut their doors. Once adjectives the little businesses are out of business, they jack their prices back up. Now adjectives people are FORCED to shop at Walmart because everything else is closed, but you're paying dearly for it.

I could run on and on, but you really should watch the movie for yourself. It's extraordinarily, very terrifying to me how that corporation has become more powerful than our parliament.

Im tired of society thinking associates on welfare are adjectives good-for-nothing bums that dont want to work-?

Question:
in adjectives due respects they do want to work and in most cases they do. They only just dont earn enough to draw from by. Ive read on here people calling welfare citizens lazy, and that they are purely wasting tax payers money.... where on earth do you get your facts? *read on here- A ancestral with one income may not earn satisfactory to get by- they gain assistance, the wife or husband gets a job- presently for that what ever amount a month they now obtain more- they deduct roughly speaking 100 dollars more. I have to ask you, what does this kith and kin do? The goverment isnt set up to help family get stale welfare, they need gradual support to bring off welfare not initiate them if you get a employment we'll take away more than you make- that just makes them not want to bring a job. I devise we need to write congress and convey them they need to support these family not make more obsticales for them! *Most family on welfare dont want to be- if you know someone whose is milking the system- that is them, dont generalize everyone cuz of them!

Answer:
I definitely agree, these people enjoy no idea what it's resembling, welfare is not money handed over on a silver platter, it's almost not enough to survice on and that's food stamps, tanf is nearly impossible..take it for 3 months, then if you don't hold a job by afterwards, they cut you off. don't do 40 hours of situation, job serching, resuming creating and so forth, they cut you stale. Medicaid pays for very little. People don't pilfer into consideration nothing formerly they run their mouths. Welfare is only a extremely small percent of the national budget, a lot of our money go to politicians, and the bs war that bush keep agging on. People don't understand for some of us, it's more expensive to settle for daycare then you even cause at work so what's the point. We don't all choose to not work, some of us enjoy things holding us back..close to sick children, too many children to afford daycare, no work within the area, and so forth. In plentiful areas there is a complete nouns of work anywhere. It's not so easy similar to these people wanna mull over

I wouldn't influence that everyone feels that agency, although many do. The high-status thing to realize is that you cannot metamorphose what other people suppose, you can only progress your own destiny. We all start out on a plane playing field and some relations overcome huge obstacles and really take ahead even though they were born into poverty. Then you carry the people who be raised surrounded by upper middle class who do nothing beside their lives, even though every opportunity is available to them.
It's sad that relations sit in judgement of others, but nearby have be some bad apples who own given honest people a bleak name. Some ancestors do indeed need impermanent assistance and that's why the system is in place. Unfortunately, deeply of people knock about the system and it's very undue to tax payers.

Anyone who is on welfare and truly wishes to get ahead.....can. They only have to want it bleak enough and not allow obstacle or excuses to get within their way. There are libraries everywhere where on earth people can find out how to better their lives. The trick is surrounded by doing it and not making excuses as to why they can't. I studied home businesses for a lot of years and put a large amount of effort into erudition how the rich people do it. I worked unyielding until I learned how to work smart and that's when the change started. I learned everything I needed to know by myself. I gone no stone unturned until I had the resources I needed to draw from my business off the ground. After I did that, I realize that anyone can do it. Again....they just hold to WANT to bad ample. I've showed people how to shift from welfare to becoming financially independent but I only help them as much as they wanted to be help. I met their effort next to information and am proud of their success stories. So, anyone can do it and near are a lot of ancestors who help them bring about their goals.
I agree. You're right. I've never met anyone on welfare who wasn't trying their hardest and hitting one brick wall after another. The inefficient welfare bum driving a cadillac and popping out 10 babies is a total myth.

A month back, days before, after...? & what should I put ON the application... I haven't have a lot of experience, since I'm not even fourteen on the other hand.
Thanks.

Answer:
Hi there, its great to see a motivated childlike person, dutiful work for taking the step to support yourself and your future. As you dont own previous experience in the workforce, write down your subjects at arts school,if any you excel in hand over extra details.Put in certificate and awards from all areas of your energy. E.g Sports, music, school anything you do.
Tell how devout of an asset you will be as you are ;Reliable, motivated, willing to cram,Open to constructive criticism etc. Set out your goals, short occupancy and long term, incorporate your interests aswell. As a boss i will take more discern if you come in party to give an application.Introduce yourself (practice at home) and smile. Dont articulate 'hi i want a job' Say thing resembling 'Hello my name is......... and i would love to contribute you my job application to look at as i am interested surrounded by working here' . As you are under age tolerate them know straight away as if they are unable to hand over you a job you may be capable of do work experience until you are 14. Give your application now as this shows your initiative and keenness to work. Good luck i am proud of you :)
probably during your birthday, and you should dress in business informal attires (not the 3 piece suit) but something similiar.
I dont know
i dont know how it is within your school...but within my schooo we get our working papers from our guidance counselor and once adjectives that is chock-a-block out we get an application and permeate it out nd hand it contained by
Do the application and give it to them as soon as you can. Give it to them surrounded by person and explain the situation. If they see you contained by person they are more credible to hire you. Check in from time to time to see how the application is doing. Put any experience you've have in academic and extracurriculars. You being so childlike they'll understand the denial of experience.
Days before. If they ring you within a week you don't want to share them they can't hire you. Usually there is a "date available to start" passage that you can fill surrounded by with your birthday.

As far as experience...any extracurricular goings-on in conservatory that show leadership, the classes you hold taken that could be somehow related, computer skills, and achievements.

They know you don't enjoy much work experience you just necessitate to show them that you are have supervision qualities and are reliable. Good Luck!
Go over in that and talk to them. You may know how to volunteer your time before you turn 14.
I am not sure if they will hire someone as immature as you are, though.
For the experience part of an application you can be somewhat creative...do you look after a pet? do you babysit? do you help your mother around the house? do you work surrounded by your yard? do you enjoy special interests or hobbies? All of these types of things give you experience, and you may even be capable of find some people to write you a mention.
For a library job, I would be sure to draw attention to a love (or interest) in books and reading; they may totally well ask you what you hold read, and what you like. Be prepared.
Good luck near this, it is not easy to obtain a job when you are so young at heart, but I admire your sense of enterprise.

Don't come across as someone purely looking for a job, do a bit research about the company first so you can ask intelligent question and also field any the interviewer might ask you.
A friend of mine works contained by HR and says these are the switch points that prospective employees are judge on.
BE PREPARED!

Know all give or take a few that company as well as the parent company or corporation to which you are interviewing. Ask pertinent question relating to the position for which you are applying. How should I approach to the full time charge (I'm working as a temp beneath agency beside that company)?

Question:
I'm working as a temp with a company underneath an agency for almost 2 months. I think I'm doing okay. Today, I saw there's a post that the company is hiring. The livelihood duties are pretty similar to my duties right now. I really resembling the company and how should I approach to that job? (Although I resembling the job closely, I do not qualify some of their qualifications) Should I send within the resume and talk beside my supervisor or my manager directly?
* My agent told me the assignment next to this company will ended within the end of April when I first start to work here, should I also mention it as economically?*

Answer:
I would send contained by the resume and talk next to my supervisor or my manager directly. see since they very soon know your a good worker they might supply you a chance. If not your boss will know you want perminate work and will look out for something for you if they can.
Go and collaborate to your supervisor about human being hired full time. You don't need another resume unless they ask you for one. They already know who you are and what open-handed of work you do. You can mention that you'll have to give up your job in a couple of weeks unless they extend your assignment or hire you.
Don't have a word to your agency yet. Let your supervisor know you want a "full" time see and you may like to apply individually to the job up on the board. See how they purloin that. If it fails you still own your temp agency. It's not like you are going for this brief (you are temping for right?) I'd go on it alone back falling back on your temp agency.

GOOD Luck.
It is almost extension of April. What the heck are you waiting for? You should have already applied. But use your inside connections as ably. Ex: Your boss, manager, supervisor and enlighten them that your assignment is coming to an end and that you would love to stay. Tell them that at hand is an opening that you want to apply surrounded by order to protract a position...
I think you own to be brought out of your contract to become full time, thats how it works. But being Temp is cool. U carry to focus on other things you can do with your existence besides punching a clock everyday.

I infer you should speak with your supervisor. This same article happen to me and I be a temp and they let me dance b/c the assignment was up. I wrote the president a reminder letting them know how I liked the situation and knew I could do the brief and learn more if they give me a chance. Within the subsequent week they called me fund in to dance on permanently. accurate luck
Talk to your supervisor and let them know you are interested surrounded by learning more roughly speaking the position. You are already on the inside, so your chances can be better than someone they haven't met. I own promoted people who didn't enjoy all the certificate but were integrated and all the rage because its better than hiring a qualified person who doesn't fit surrounded by.

However, you also need to know that the agency will emergency a lump sum payment from the company if they want to hire you full time. Its part of the contract when they release you to the firm. Don't tolerate it discourage you from going for the job, but if its an issue near your company, let them know you will do anything it takes to relieve negotiate a lower fee. Good Luck!

A sound out for a medical coder or biller....... What is the chore resembling? What type of schooling do you requirement?

Question:
I have some medical bureau experience.

Answer:
Hi, for medical coding, I went to community college, then had to go beyond tests to draw from credentials before any employer would even consider me. This be a very rugged field to break into. All the hospitals want experienced coders. Even beside a CCS (certified coding specialist), after looking for almost a year no employer would give me a adjectives. Employers definately want experience and credentials, at least where on earth I live.

From my experience going to school and studying strong and finally passing the test, getting my credentials, finally getting a job and working as a coder for a while, I found it tremendously difficult work, having to code everything from coronary bypasses to interventional radiology while human being timed to meet hourly quotas. In my experience this be a very stressful duty.

Coding surgeries and inpatient stays are not as easy or straghtforward as they are qualified in conservatory, and the outpatient coding with CPT modifiers is difficult as very well (reduced services, distinct separately identifiable procedure, etc).

For coding one should have superb kindness of medical terminolgy, anatomy and surgeries (I can't emphasize surgeries enough). If you enjoy a superb understanding of adjectives of these things, then I would suggest going for it, otherwise coding will be a struggle, at smallest it was for me.

All I can enunciate I should have stopped when going through the courses I found it difficult but kept surging forward, forcing myself to finish and get hold of a coding job to trade name a good living.

After losing my undertaking to outsourcing, I am no longer coding (and happier).
Have you already received offer, or you want to be? Any academy past is ok. More arts school past is logically better.

Can someone assistance me find a employment?

Question:
I need a opportunity now; prefrably close to where on earth I live in Brooklyn ny,11239 but i dont want to work at any briskly food resturants or as a casheir anywhere; i wouldnt mind being a sale assiciate or anything else...can anyone help me near this?

---Im 17 at the moment but will be 18 on may 7th

ok im sorry that you dont want to be in nifty food stuff or cashier since thats one of the eaiser things to return with esp. if you dont have much experince although its not impossiable. um you can try snagajob or survey bars that or step to the places and pick up an app
You need to prefer where you would resembling to go to work. Find out for a while about the cos. on the Internet contained by case they ask why you want to walk to work for them. (Which they will.) Call and ask if they are accepting applications and when and where. Department stores usually own customer service training and look good as a first brief on your resume later on. Also try www.monster.com
There are correct sites you can try like monster.com, careerbuilder.com, or even craigslist.org Good luck on the profession hunt.
try hotjobs, monster, worksource, or your local unemployment organization. If your looking to get into sale, a lot of companies that will hire asscociates near no sales experience are MLMs or multi smooth marketing companies, witch basically mode they run their company similar to a pyramid scam. You get sucked out of adjectives kinds of money for adjectives kinds of different reason. If your looking for something beyond entry level, you might want to help yourself to some college classes.

What to do when a coworker from your profession dialogue almost you?

Question:
My husband has be having problems at his profession with a womanly coworker, she for one doesnt like him, i told my husband he should stay out of her mode and not even bother talking to her...so this departed week my husbands boss was moved and they own now a fresh boss over them...well it seem that this woman that dont like my husband, have been chitchat bad roughly speaking my husband to the new boss wise saying he dont do his job etc, etc, when i for a certainty know he does...cause ive go with him after work a few times of late so he could finish what he had going on sooner in the hours of daylight....this woman works in a completely differnent passage than my husband does so i asked him how would she know anyways, well besides that my husband asked me what he should do...if he should natter to the new boss or confront this woman to see exactly what her problem be with him... i solitary told him he shouldn't talk to the woman ever and of late keep doing his position and the new boss would see for himself...all right i need some direction for him...

Answer:
First of all - avoid confrontation. It will compound any problems that exist and may turn a simple bureau disagreement in to a vendetta.

I'd suggest your husband have a quiet word beside their boss about this. It may be his boss have already pegged this woman as a trouble initiator, maybe the boss have been influenced, I don`t know he manages by rite. Either way, at lowest your husband will know where he stands. If problems do arise afterwards make sure documentation is available to demonstrate your husband's celebration at his job.

On a personal smooth, one measure I've found adjectives in times past is to be nice. A smile, a good morning and a touch of politeness can disarm. Not solitary disarm, but show the woman's behaviour for what it might be. However, polite and detatched, never more than a "how are you?" - never a give somebody the third degree about work.

See what happen after a month!
He should talk to HR..sounds close to harassment
He wants to confront her. Stop the crap right from the source. And if it doesnt get resolved step to her boss. From there work the cuff of command. Definitly don't want to take it outside the company becasue that might maintain him from getting promoted.
I have have problems with family at work before....the best point to do is to ignore them and only just do your job....don't dispense them your energy, they are not worth your time.

But if you work surrounded by close relation to them, the best thing to do is to confront them intelligently, even contained by front of a boss or supervisor, but not in a horrid way....

I hold done this, and they are usually shocked because they think you are watery and don't stand up for yourself...
This guy at my work whom was extraordinarily lazy and cocky other talked trailing my back....I other had to pick up his slack because he be a poor worker. One day I confronted him contained by front of our supervisor, and he was so taken stern! Of course he defended himself...I didn't fight rear legs, but I let my confrontation sink contained by, and I swear to god, next week he be my best friend, he was sucking up to me, he vanished me alone and did his work and stopped talking at the rear my back! I thought it be going to be awkward around him but he totally sucked up to me....even bought me lunch a few times!

Since the lady works surrounded by a different department, if its not affecting your husband directly with his work I would voice ignore it....but if its cause him stress at work, he needs to stand up to her, be straightforward and honest, and trust me adjectives his problems will be fixed.

I would suggest talking to a supervisor or boss just about it but in my experience they do little to zilch to resolve such issues.
