I know investment bankers at several different NYC firms (and Houston/Dallas firms), and all of them work roughly the same hours and capture the same compensate. It's pretty much an industry standard. My friends work 100-120 hour weeks, depending on deal flow. Weekdays are 6:30am-midnight or even 2:00am. They also move about in every saturday for going on for 10 hours and every sunday for about 8 hours.
These are associates--first and second years--not VPs. I know VPs work much smaller amount, but I'm not sure how much.
They get break days (2 weeks average), but like oodles first year employees, oodles don't want to use it. Each might take one week total throughout the year.
