All I know is that the longer you're near any one employer, doing the same career, the better it looks on a resume, also, the more "respected" you'll be on that job. Yes, you can make money but, you enjoy to work alot to make your money. I tight it all depends for example my mom doesn't charge $150.00 dollars to do highlights, blow dry, and cut. I hold 2 friends who pay that because they've be going to that hairdresser for years. If you work for yourself you can make greatly of money as a hairdresser. If you work for a company you won't make as much. Like the other entity said, if you work out of your house or you can find a place where they rent out chairs for a plausible price then you can kind good money. Start being a mobile hairdresser to friends and inherited at evenings and weekends that way they will reccomend you to family/friends and you will find that your client platform will become so big and regular that you can give up the salon and embark on one of your own!! The amount you can earn would depend on your demographic location. In my area most hairdressers rent their stations, this is the best instrument to go especially if you enjoy a client base established. I hold three friends who work in salon and all three earn a fabulous income! Face it... women want to look upright, so spending money on their hair, nail and skin care is a must!

I would push for you to build up a client base and turn to a salon where you can rent your station, this road to take home 100% of you income.

There's two ways of working this. Commission is one, booth rental is the other. The best way to do this is to start beside commission in a BUSY salon and build a clientele. Once you do that, move to booth rental and you become self employed minus the big overhead. I f you can find a very busy salon that offer booth rental with an overflow of client, and you hold a cushion (money saved or a spouse working) that would be great. There are some deeply nice people contained by this profession that would work with you by starting near a low rent and as you build your clientel your rent increases and eventually you'll pay what every body is paying contained by the salon. i went through like thing at one of my job. people call me by my nickname, but surrounded by the beggining i asked to be called approaching that since my first name is concrete to pronounce and there be someone with a similar signature. it then get annoying. if i were you, i would try to use humor and voice something like, "do you even know my definite name?" or "my first name is _____ " in a firm but jokingly demeanour. think of something clever. i'm sure you can come up next to something.

Hopefully someone can help! I own been working at my current commission for 1 and a half months. The contract stipulated i work 40 hours a week, which i do. Granted, of that 5 hours is break time (1h a day). Nothing surrounded by the contract mentioned anything about hour change so i was jubilant to sign it as i only later spend 8 hours a day at work. They enjoy just introduced untried working hour, an extra 1h a day, bringing it to 45 hours a week. Their argument is that i immediately WORK 40 hours a week taking away my break time. Insult to injury is that it is for the exact amount of money im getting salaried for now, zilch more. I said im not going to do it as that was not what i signed for contained by my contract and that the contract did not state my 5h of lunch does not go towards my weekly hours. They say aloud i either work the extra 20 hours extra a month (no extra pay) or they will bequeath me my notice to leave your job. Are they allowed to do this. Im in the UK by the channel. I'm afraid they are allowed to do it. Basically if they want to translate the terms of your contract they own to give you spy (detailed in your artistic contract) at which point you can object. Your lunch hour is not division of your paid employment time, but you are entitled, by imperative, to a lunch-break of at least 30 minutes (Working Time Directive I reason.) In fact, an employer would be breaking the canon if it required an employer to work continuously through. Therefore, if you haven't been WORKING 40 hours, you haven't be upholding your contract - and it seems you enjoy been working only 35 hours a week. If they've been paying you for 40 hours for a 35 hour week, they've be overpaying you for the last 6 weeks!! strictly speaking, they could ask you to repay this.
They AREN'T increasing your hours, they are a moment ago asking you to work 40 hours a week, as your Statement of Particulars seems to state.
So, from what I can see, yes the employer can do this. You're lucky you've get away with it so long and lucky the company aren't asking for money vertebrae, so don't push it by complaining! Sorry!

Yesterday, he said NOTHING again. If he asks me to lunch, should I read out I'm BUSY and act pissed? Because I really am pissed....

I take in how you feel. I work within a law firm. There are two secretaries here and 6 lawyer. Not one of them said anything yesterday. Nothing. Today one of them mentioned taking us out to lunch one day, but not this week because everyone is approach too busy. It is just rude. All that we do and no acknowledgement on "Administrative Professional Day).

I muse you have a right to be pissed.....if he asks you purely say economically you forgot me on the actual day and I am too busy this week. He should grain bad, use guilt against him.

I feel your headache! I work at a family owned export company and at one time the husband be the co president and the wife was the standard manager.
