Careers Employment Questions and Answers

I'm a teller at Waldbaums. My boss told me today that I'm getting written up?

Question:
But after she told me that she let me dance back to teller. So does that mean I won't go and get fired?

Answer:
As a manager surrounded by various companies, I have a 1,2,3 rule

1. verbal
2. written
3. suspended

All be documented. I have other been skilled CYA!!

At the fourth - you were out.
Getting written up is usually the concluding step before suspension and/or termination. Employers want to hold a paper trail of your work performance and where on earth you went wrong to serve fight laying-off charges and head bad potential lawsuits.
I suggest you had better start looking for other career options.
MOST GET FIRED ON THIRD WRITE UP..
Dont verbs. It may be a warning, but U must start to survey new jo. U wil definatly grasp, but dont make same mistakes U did here.... All the best
When u receive written up that means that u hold broken a rule. But make sure that u enjoy read the written up notice and if u don't agree don't sign it because if u sign it that way that u admit to the wrong doing.
Saud Q, you lift the WARNING seriously, and better take your present Job immensely seriously, instead of worrying and avoid further ticket/s, as well as find out another suitable available job for your self.
A lot of times it goes to your personnel record where they can count the number of times you mess up. Sure, they could other fire you on the spot if they have judgment, but being written up is resembling a warning and they may enjoy a three strikes (write ups) and your out policy.
be careful
Find something else to do to earn a living...Bosses shouldn't tug you close to that...leaving you terrified etc...Of course I won't support you being dishonest or time wasting on the position.
find out what you were written up for and why. It can be s misunderstanding. But if you don't know, you can't cash something she feels desires changing.

What make more money business or science?

Question:
What do you think is better science or business? and why

Answer:
Well, to your first interrogate, you don't make much money from science. That's why copious countries are having problems near fewer and a lesser amount of students opting to study the sciences, especially the pure sciences. But you own a long line of populace willing to shell out huge sums of money to do their MBAs and other business courses.

Which one is 'better'? Depends on what you reflect is 'better'. Having studied both MBA and Physics degrees, I found Physics far more fun and interesting. But it's not a incredibly practical qualification.
i noticed that business net more money with science than science next to business. so my answers business
Science free gov't grants to do stupid research. "Doing this will create cancer, doing this will shorten your life." Thanks holmes..

Business, unless you're gonna start your own and enjoy lots of capital you won't be making much as a mound teller...
I voice science because without the science within is no business and without the business at hand still is science... unless you need funding for proven research. Then, you're screwed.
It is a combanation of both of them. Science in a conservatory will not always label alot of money, but science in a business beside people helping you to bring your ideals to the flea market is the best way to shift.
I think both make money too depending on how you manage it.
Take a look at the richest folks surrounded by the world and you'll see business people beside plenty of scientist types working for them. But do what makes you at ease. Money is not everything!
Business, because business is needed for everything including science. someone needs to direct that money coming in and out and come up beside ideas on how to take money for new experiments and Medicine etc. The world moves around the business pasture. You can never have a honest to God horrible time trying to find a job because you are needed anywhere and everywhere
Business make more money, they sell and deal with the technology. There's a lot smaller quantity R&D and start-up costs.

Are you asking about majors within college? If so I would go into science if you approaching to work alone and are quiet. If you are outgoing, love to work next to people, wine & dine, innate sales party, then business is the key for you.
Whichever one you enjoy more and are perfect at. Just because you go into business does not penny-pinching your just gonna create a ton of money. If your not good at it or don't wallow in it you sure aren't gonna make any actual money and you wil be miserable the 50 hours a week you work.
If you like Science budge for it. I have found that when folks do what they approaching and are good at and keen about, next somehow the money finds them.
Not to scare you, but if you own to ask that question, possibly you really are not suited for the business world...
If you are interested in money instead of your assignment you won't make much money. Listen to your gut and find out what you love to do and the money will follow if you work (play) frozen.
I think it depends what the specific occupation is, wether it be a botanist, a chemist, a stockbroker, a real estate broker, etc. I devise the department of commerce has employment outlooks for that kind of stuff
If you are concerned beside your own career, I suggest you think/research more in the order of what you like to do and smaller amount about the money. You can kind lots of money (or not so much) in any one. High level scientists at roomy companies can make hundreds of thousands and dignified level manager of those companies can make as much and more. Neither of them are probable to make you rich close to a movie star so my advice is to find something you love to do - later you'll never "work" another day.

How to answer this interview interview??

Question:
What are ur short term and long possession goals??
I dont want to be specific and say aloud something about the position within the company but I want to give a smart and attractive answer..

Plz.. help

Answer:
In the nonspecific category:

Short term: To gain a job that will disregard you and allow you to apply your skills (what skills do you have? mention them here). Also, to revise as much as you can about the company you work for and be a expensive asset to that company.

Long term: to credit to a position that best utilizes your skills (i.e. communication, analytical, etc) in a very well established company. Here's a good place to put your research skills to the examination & explain why you think the company you are interviewing beside is the one you want to still be working for in 5 or 10 years.

Specific:
Any background goals? Maybe you want to back advance your profession by taking night classes (but do NOT ask if the company will recompense for those classes). It shows you're motivated.

Do you want to buy a house soon? If so - mention it!! It shows that you are settling down in that nouns.

Do NOT mention kids!!

Do NOT say something close to, "Well, I racked up a lot of credit card debt and I want to try to wage it all bad." As an interviewer, if someone says that to me, it tell me they are irresponsible.

Do NOT say that you don't enjoy any goals. Someone who say this just comes across as laid-back!

Whatever you say, you want to make a contribution the impression that you are serious almost the job, that you are motivated, responsible, & are planning on sticking around for a while (not moving anywhere anytime soon).

Good luck!
Say something to be exact directly applicable to the company. For example align the skills you want to master to the skills the company needs. Use it as a channel to show you will be a good fit for the company and the position they are looking to flood. The long term objective should be tied to the logical progression or career catwalk in the company you are interviewing near.
Hi there. I am no expert, but when asked roughly speaking short term goal, try to keep the focus on the livelihood you are applying for. And what exactly are your short term goal, and long term aspiration? Why not try the truth. That usually works well beside employers. They can make clear to if you are genuine, or not. Just sounding smart and ostentatious is not the same as self smart , and not having to impress. Think in the region of that.
Good luck.
Focus on the company's interests not yours. Short term goal would be to learn as much give or take a few the company's products and day to sunshine functions. Long term goal would have to do next to, how to advance via more responsibility, what would you involve to do learn these things, extra conservatory etc.
Always keep your focus on what they are looking for contained by an employee. Ask in the order of job review, who does it, and how regularly.
Remember, they need you as much as you have need of this job, so
interview the interviewer for your information. Best wishes.

What should i recount my previous/current employer, and if i want to write a letter of resignation, what should it enunciate? Any suggestions?

Answer:
at 16 a letter is unwanted. Just tell your boss that you own enjoyed working for him but you found something else you would to some extent be doing. You should give them 2 weeks observe but depending on the place they may not need you to fullfill that.
Dear Mr(s)___:
I appreciate the opportunity that you enjoy given me to work for you here at____; The experience has be invaluable. However I have taken another position that is to say more suited to my long term job goals. My later day to work will be _________ . Again I appreciate the opportunity and experience that you enjoy provided.
Sincerely
John_____

Not full of crap, gets to the point ,tell the truth, and leaves in correct standing in shield u ever want to go put money on
you can introduce your sefl experience in sport and how do you cogitate about it as okay, let reader see what your knowlege and why you choise this manner of job.
You should still pass them a letter (Practice for when you receive older). Tell them that although you have enjoy working for them, that you have found another opportunity that goes along near your future trade plans. Do give two weeks spy, because that way if things don't work out at your spanking new job they would be more potential to hire you back.
I agree near the "DR". They really just want you to be honest. If you are contained by good standing near them, you have nil to worry almost. Just tell them you get an offer you couldn't cry off. Sometimes if you are giving notice, you will in fact get another bestow, meaning beside the place you are currently working for. No letter is needed for something this simple. Good luck.

Is it advisable to record a personal website on your resume?

Question:
I just read a job guidance book that recommended creating a website for your professional identity and making the link available on your resume/cover epistle.

Is this really a standard thing to do at the moment? I fear some employer may find it too gimmicky.

Answer:
It depends on the field. I would never suggest putting a "myspace" page on a resume but if you are a photographer who have an online portfolio on a professional page then yes, I would include it. If it doesn't get the impression natural or look professional I would advocate against it.
i wouldnt do it, could work against you too
I've never heard of it, but it depends on what you're applying for. If the website is going to directly compliment your resume, by demonstrating the ability you lits in it, consequently I don't see why not. If you're applying for something else, such as a sales position, afterwards it would probably hurt your chances, as it a moment ago wastes the employer's time.
E-mail is advisable. Personal web-sites should never be planned as there could be highly compromising information on it. If you are required to submit additional information (i.e art portfolio, published papers, afterwards you can e-mail these in).

The only time that a personal web-site might be advisable is when applying for a web-site design position or to show personal creativity (as long as explicitly part of the job). Just be sure to purge any sort or compromising content (i.e that picture of you drinking during spring break!)

Also, you should periodically G00GLE yourself to see what the hiring company will find since they WILL do duplicate!
It's kinda gimmicky, yes, and it also depends on what you put on that website. It's not like myspace....no flashing doll bears or rock nouns logos, no webcams, no chat functions. Unless you have professional accomplishments (patents, white papers, professional affiliations) significant plenty to full out a decent site, I'd go by on this brainstorm.

Should I ask for a elevate?

Question:
i work in a memory watchfulness unit and i am the memory attention coordinator. i being working near for 6 months and i was within working in getting everything arranged before it open. for the las 5 months i been giving my best working really frozen and 10-14 hours a day. i be soppuse to have and evaluation 3 months ago. things are going a touch crazy at work because of my employee's are not doing a good duty so my boss is not really happy. but i really stipulation a raise i live 45 mins away from my work place and i am spending $85 per week on gasoline. i am in attendance from 7am to 9pm or later and they send for me in the middle of the dark and on my days off. pls endow with me some advice

Answer:
1. If your force aren't doing a good duty, and you haven't gone to your employer about how you're going to resolve the issue, he might not be interested contained by giving you a raise. Raises are base on performance; from his standpoint, you're working 10 to 14 hours a afternoon and the department is still a mess.

2. You might consider getting a position closer to home. If you're looking for a raise to cover your transportation costs, save in mind that fuel prices are continuing to increase.

3. If you are one called contained by the middle of the night, on your days bad and you can't get any pay for up, either they involve to get you some support or you necessitate to think just about getting another job.

Before you ask for a angle, sit down and really think going on for your job. Again, you enjoy to consider your boss's point of view. If you've be giving your best and your employees aren't doing a upright job, that still reflect on you and your ability to do paperwork your team. If you haven't found a opening to get them into shape, or enjoy at least discussed it beside your employer to find solutions I don't know how likely it is they'll present you a raise. Right presently, the only source they would be motivated to give you a bump up is because you make yourself available to them 24/7, not because of charge performance.

Your employer will use you as long as you allow them to. I devise you need to consider working elsewhere.
A couple of answers come to mind. The first is the barefaced one - Do you deserve one? It sounds like you do but nearby may be some reason you dont. Second put somebody through the mill - What was promised or What did you comprehend the pay structure would be similar to. Some companies have pretty strict level of pay for sure types of jobs or "charge families" is a phrase you might hear. Check your job description. Are you doing more or does it in recent times feel that course and you really are doing just what it say you might have to do? If you be told that you would get an evaluation after a guaranteed amount of time, hold your employer accountable to that date. It is single fair as you would predictable be held accountable for any statements that you might be paid. But be careful what you ask for, you freshly might get it. Have your facts primed and dont let emotion cloud your judgment. You may not carry another chance if your review is a fruitless one. Good luck with your request!
You will never know unless you asked. Ask him in the region of yor evaluation it is best to find out now after to wait for a year lately to get a no.
permit me tell you plain and simple.(i used to be a manager) if u are surrounded by charge and the place is chaos because of bleak training let your boss know if the employyes dont listen to u permit him know.u should ask for a raise if he dosnt pay envelope your gas. plead your case and tolerate him know that u always are near when its good for them. if your not the problem consequently its either the need of staff, the mangement communication or you. just look at the place from the outside and integer what is the problem. ask for the raise.

As for unpaid brief, I worked at the zoo for a summer when I was within Sophomore year of high university. A good, productive process to spend my summer.
Bank of America. I was a NCR proof hand. I worked in a underground store and watched peoples foot walk by out of a touch window! What be great was that I be newly divorced from a man who used to update me that I wasn't smart enough to work for a dune...so I spent 18 years in bank! I now own my own business and he...in good health he does'nt!
I was 21

But when I get older I be glad he did it, it helped discharge for my college You'd be surprised how much money we made over the years doing that and saving it. I also get my first "official" job at 16 at a swift food restaurant, I made minimum wage lol.

They give us little masks to cover our mouths, but they be too hot, so we were breathing fiberglass into our lungs. NICE!
Every afternoon we would own to stop by about 3 o'clock because they didn't want us to die contained by there.

I own two second interviews tomorrow afternoon and I expect to at lowest possible get hold of one employment, should I quit my mission on the other hand

Question:
Here is why I ask, my current company is sending me on training Friday and they are putting me up in a hotel tommorrow evening, paying my mileage and meal, and I am leaving untimely to go to the training. But I am in actual fact leaving impulsive to go to the 2 interviews and after onto the training for my current company.
But in lay down for me to make one of the second interviews, I own to forgo the training and go to the interview. My current duty will know if I dont show up by the other people that will report me not person there.

What should I do? Do you devise they will eventually if not already know I hold been looking for another available job??

Answer:
No, not just but. Wait until they ask you when you can start. Then tell your untried employer that you have to pass your current employer x number of days notice earlier you can leave. Hope this help.
Peace and every blessing!
No, because if you don't get the job you won't have any job at all.
You're contained by a bind because you're deceiving them about your whereabouts. Normally you shouldn't quit your undertaking until you have a hot one. And, I'd still apply that rule, but in this overnight case, I'd try to be honorable with my current company and transmit them that I'm applying for other positions. I've got second interviews which conflict next to the scheduled training and I don't want to mislead them. You've nil to lose and may get credit for honesty.
Don't quit anything until you own an offer surrounded by writing. It could take longer than you deduce.
You're in a outstandingly delicate situation. First, be in motion to the training for the company. They are paying your way, skipping it will cost them $$. (It could be view as fraud since you already know you've scheduled something else during that time.) Contact the interview populace and simply tell them you hold a time conflict with the 2nd interview and you obligation to reschedule. Don't make excuses... Just be polite and professional. If they are really interested within you, they'll reschedule. (If not, you're probably 1 of 6 they've moved up to interview.)
Do not blow your current job on "promises" of greener pasture.

Starting a relationship on deceit and manipulation lead to failure and disappointment. This is your charge - be professional and adult. You're not 16, sneaking out of the house....

Good luck..
