Firstly, do you have the advise rate in writing, if so I would approach the contractor and push for them of the discrepancy, they will have to honour your agreement. If you don't own anything in writing afterwards it could be tricky. Could be that the rate they told you was what they planned to contract you out for and included their profit? Ultimately you hold been misled and if you don't acquire the result your looking for then I would (out of principle) probably look for something else. Good luck!
