The interest in the available job isn't about money, although I can't be minus an income for long, so I'm assuming that going into training would mean I would hold to quit my current full time job. I consider myself pretty smart, I hold a 4 year degree, and I'm contained by decent physical shape (although I could be better, which is why I shift to the gym regularly). So what I really want to know is, what are my chances to trade name it? If I flunked out of training, I don't know how I'd get money and survive.

Sure you will fashion it!! Keep a positive attitude and you will become a firefighter. Being a firefighter is just as much mental as it is physical. Firefighters are universal people put into extraordinary circumstances. But beside the right training and skills we do some pretty amazing things!
I don't know where you live, but here within FL you go to college first and then apply to a FD. This allows you to still hold a full time job while going to college. You would also need schooling to be at tiniest a EMT as well.
The training is not that difficult. If you maintain an open mind and forget what you know roughly speaking fire fighting from the movies and TV your training will run by smoothly. The physical aspect of the training shouldn't bee to difficult for you either since you've be going to the gym. But don't fool yourself, the job and training is physically demanding and if you discern you need to, step up your training surrounded by the gym.
Just remember to stay positive about your training, focus on it and don't fret roughly money until after you graduate, cause in that won't be much any way since most firefighters are passageway under remunerated any way!! Good Luck!

I have Leukemia, 2 years ago I lost my art to this. (15 years of service IT programmer). Thus loosing my career, I lost my house, and hold been living near a friend ever since. Since my job loss I own been trying to find work, but it hasen't be easy. I hold lost my hair and I don't look approaching I used to. I stay active and own a larger than life attitude, but still this dosen't serve. I love who I'am and am not gonna change anything roughly me, but the fact is this: I look resembling a nazi or a monster. I refuse to use the policy for help, ring up me stubborn, but im sure there are general public out there worse bad that need it more. I'm still awfully well and want to work. Its really annoying. Once,i go to the girls room in my college and there be one girl who was staring into the mirror. After that she go like "Oh no!A unpromising hair year! Now,i have to enjoy to look bad during the exam!".I only just stepped out of the room after i washed my hand. I dont really care much give or take a few my looks,many those i know know that. Let me give u a scenario. Lets articulate i am the hiring Manager of a elite company whereby u & another applicant of like peas in a pod condition as u have. No doubt you would not want to metamorphose the way u are..but when u are contained by my presence doing an interview, however, u dressed smartly and showed your confidence in what you could do near your knowleadge and experience, i would be most impressed even so the other applicant has indistinguishable expertise as u have, but be not smartly attired.
