I've have a similar experience at my job. I am really malicious, even with family I just join, so I can come across as a(n) [place expletive here] to people. My coordinator told me during a review to "know my audience" and not always banter around with empire. That is just how I am, I own a dry humor reflex that just comes out, but I enjoy learned to tone it down to some amount.
Put a bear trap at the foot of the entrance to your bureau. That should send a message.
Just revise to tone down your responses. It doesn't mean you can't sometimes ask them to loaf or something, but why do you consider it normal to be rude?
