Hi, I'm in HR. Taking time out of the work-force is tough on the craft, you can say it clearly, it's definitely hurt you. This is the nouns that most stay at home parents, historically women, face every time. It's true that employers don't want to see anyone who's skills may be "rusty" or who may no longer be surrounded by the "loop" in the corral. The best way to overcome this is to try and find temp work through an agency. If you can capture something current on your resume, that will help. If you enjoy any contacts from your old job, call them up and see what they know, start network again. I'm afraid it's not going to be easy, but you can do it. Definitely give the name temp agencies, some specialize in IT. The position you are surrounded by isn't fair and I craving things were different. Good luck.
Did you delight in being at home beside your daughter? It is going to be difficult to compete with those who are contained by the field, human being that you have not be in it for almost 2 years. At any rate, if you enjoy the time you spent at home with your daughter, why not do something that will allow you to stay home and supplement your income at indistinguishable time?
There are many job in IT that will allow you to telecommute. Also, you could start a business as a consultant or something similar.
Personally, I would not want to travel back to work, but respectively person have different circumstances.

I would suggest that you work near head hunters/employment services. Unfortunately, employer look at gaps at employment and don't other take the time to ask why since the resume is passed over. I think you necessitate help from a professional to promote you. Yes, it's the 21st century and in attendance are a lot of men staying at home to put on a pedestal children which is SO commendable, however the work-force hasn't entirely caught up next to the trend and how to deal near it.
