Question:
I worked as an Internet Sales Manager at a large auto dealership within MA. My boss hired an asst and wanted her to assist me. She needed my job and harrassed me by email and making my vivacity hell. I spoke to managerment and they said that
s just the approach she is (high strung). I also rec'd emails from the General Manager, who hates gays. I couldn't pilfer any more, at the end of April, I not here my job. Should I in recent times forget about it and verbs? I do good work and can win another similar job, but I am still devastated. This go on for 4 months. I want to set up a website with adjectives this info, pls, I need your honest feelings. Thank you

Answer:
What Im guessing is youre gay, you got put upon by someone who wanted your errand and opossibly didnt like gays.
you reported it to your superior, and since they dont like gays they said thats lately the way she/he is.

Well for them not address the problemyou could probably get an employment attorney to argue it for you.

The emails would be a legitimate factor since you could retrieve those as evidence of the harassment.
You would enjoy to prove you made attempts to expose the problem and them not addressing it to as why you couldnt stay within that workplace.

You might not get any compensation, but you could possibly go and get your job reinstated.

Best is to document everything subsequent time.
Emails, you could should either print them out or forward them to another email vindication as your proof.
Thats sexual harassment, it created a hostile working environment for you that go unaddressed after you reported it.

There is stuff you can do, but it will take time to prove, and are you sure you really would want to work hindmost there?

Sometimes its best lately to leave population and their wicked ways to themselves. They usuaklly bring back what they deserve sooner or later.
I would utter move on, there's nil to gain by getting into a strung out lawsuit.
Move on, there's really nothing u can do in the order of it. Ppl like that aren't gonna adjustment, but u can get ur revenge by self the better person and individual happy w/ urself.
If you can find another commission, then do so. If you come up with it's best to file a sexual harassment/discrimination lawsuit, be aware that you would requirement a lot of evidence. Those cases are not other easy to prove, so it would hold to be solid. Print out all the e-mails. If you enjoy recorded messages, squirrel away those as well. Did you document surrounded by writing that you were mortal harassed or did you suffer surrounded by silence? Are there other witnesses who would be likely to support you in this situation?

Is it legitimate for an employer to hand over out member of staff personal information?

Question:
I have a friend whose employer give her personal phone number to someone that called the business. Can anyone help out with the authenticity of this issue? We are in Utah, if that help.
She's not looking to sue, just requests to know if they should have done this or not (legally).

Please provide links if you can...

Thank you contained by advance!

Answer:
Employers are restricted on the information they can furnish on an employee. The cell phone number is not something that can be given.

NO personal information regarding where on earth you live nor how to contact you can be given by an employer.
No that is not allowed!
Generally, an employer is only allowed to offer out verification of employment and date of employment, nothing else, unless in attendance is a request from a law enforcement agency or Subpoena.
If it be a business related reason why they give out the phone number, I don't think it's ilegal. Many times someone wishes to reach me urgently, and the associates at the office will some times afford them my home phone number.
If it was because your friend be very cute, and someone considered necessary her phone number to ask her on a date, then yeah. The company is human being unprofessional.
No, it wasn't legal. They should own asked her if she wants them to impart this info to whomever, but to just pass them it was not legalized. She should contact her EEO (Human Recourse)about this. If she gets into some benevolent of trouble because they did this, she could have some lawful recourse and can sue them for damages.

When surrounded by a duty interview, how do you answer the give somebody the third degree of net lacking naming a integer?

Question:

Answer:
There a bunch of books written about the subject. Jack Chapman wrote a book near dozens of lines you can use in that situation, the book is call "A Thousand Dollars a Minute", a guide to salary conference. His basic assumption is to delay the discussion as long as possible, but if they insist you might not know how to avoid it. He suggests asking them "did you have a remuneration range within mind for this position", or "I'm sure you have researched it and are geared up to make a fair-minded offer", or give them a huge range of remuneration you might accept depending on the circumstance.
Just say aloud something you can live on and have adjectives of your needs met, you repay me what you think I'm worth.
Don't state a numerical integer. Just reply with, "We can discuss an appropriate remuneration for this position when you are ready to extend me the job. Thanks."
When you do your research on the position you are applying for , you look up what the retribution range is for that out of the ordinary position and then state you work out that the pay reach for such a position is between such and such numbers.
This is a bewildering problem!

The common teachings on the subject says you should not mark a number until you are offered the job. So, if they ask, waffle and verbs as best you can. But, if they really pin you down, you can do one of two things:

(1) name the pay you think is unprejudiced for the position (be sure to do some research on web sites approaching www.salary.com since you go on the interview).

(2) ask them, "Why don't you share me what salary you own in mind, and I'll narrate you if that's too low?"
Give them a range - and afterwards ask what range they have in mind - very soon you both have a bubble park - if you get offered the assignment you can negotiate then.
There is a mutual concern contained by such a matter. You wouldn't want the chore if you didn't want the money, and the boss would naturally expect that if he hired you they would generate money. You both want to make money doing what you do. An individual choice possibly concerning how much you need, what is defensible, and also a time factor. Research what jobs close to you seek are paying and approach companies you would approaching to work with. Your 'boss' isn't within to work for you and you are not there to work for them. You are within to work together. It ain't really about the money.

Am I Just Not Cut Out For This??

Question:
I've been a waitress for more 2 years. Recently, I get a job at a country club. I loved my previous restuarant career, but the money just didn't compare to the country club. Well, today be about my 4th light of day of training. They let me do some stuff on my own, I freaked out and almost started crying. The executive chef yell at me b/c I wasn't moving fast adequate, and I couldn't get the advice straight in my lead.

I totally spazed out. I'm so embrassed and I don't even know if I want to go hindmost. But, the money is so good and I abhorrence to be a quitter. I know I can always gain my old opening back.

I'm an knowledgeable women (i'll have my bachelor's scope in 6 months) and I hold the experience. But, my previous restuarant had a completely different attitude and ambience, it be casual.

Do you suppose I should just impart up? Is this just a different characteristics of serving I'm not ready for?

Answer:
Ha, merely think, soon you'll be the one getting served a nice dinnertime at the country club and well deserved! Congrats on your soon to be point. Listen, if u want to stick it out I know you can prove your worth but if after awhile you just find the "atmosphere" a bit too "stuffy", later go where on earth at least you know you'll be bright and breezy. Who does'nt like person happy? Hope it works out for you.
It be just your fourth year....Once, on my first day of a undertaking, I set off the freaking alarm throughout the entire building. everyone know I did it...I was feeling guilty, but I got over it. You shouldn't present up yet.
I reflect on that I would go spinal column to my restaurant job. Money isn't everything and no situation how much you make you will adjectives ways need more. It would be better for you and your schooling if you be happy. Stress is a slaughterer.
I think you'll be fine, you nouns like a fundamentally capable entity. It's just a fresh environment, give yourself a couple of weeks to gain adjusted.

I'll bet this place have some pretty high turnover if the executive chef treats those that way. They'll respect you once they see you're feeling like to stick it out, hang within there!
Don't tender up yet. Chefs are infamous (or should I say infamous?) for yell and shouting and reducing their staff to tears. It's probably nothing personal - he is lower than a lot of pressure himself to gain those meals out rapid and accurately and can't handle it.

Give it a few more days. Concentrate rock-hard on what you're doing. Find a method of remembering those orders. Make as few trips across the restaurant as possible trying to remember everything which/what you inevitability to do/get etc on one trip.

This is not going to be your life long work once you have your scope so keep it surrounded by perspective. It's just something you're doing to earn some extra lolly. Let them shout and try ignore it, however rugged it is. If you're truly not up to the job they will sack you.

Good luck!

Should I detail my boss that I enjoy another brief interview?

Question:
My current job is ok, but I own been here for 2 years and hold not seen a put on a pedestal, not even cost of living. I have moved from department to department and trained topical employees who engender more money than me!! i dont see this as fair, and I am a great hand who never complains, I am at work on time, and i gain my work done. After being thrown into all the same another position adn gave me solitary one day of training for it. I f I mess up on anything, no concern how small it is, they lecture me around accuracy!! I dont delight in my job and I am underpaid!! I enjoy an interview for this week set up at a company that is a block away!! Should I agree to my boss know that I have an interview and i necessitate to take an hour past its sell-by date or should i just read out i need an hour fro personal time/ I hold a feeling that if i transmit them they will offer me a make higher, which would be nice, but thats how this company is, you only get hold of what you want or deserve if its the last resort, who desires to work for a company like that?

Answer:
No - avoid recitation your boss. Have your references creased up & see how the interview goes past you say anything.

You are doing the right piece by looking for another job. It sounds close to a very political place so it's best to keep hold of your plans to yourself for as long as possible.
don't tell them u own an interview---if u don't get the opening ur old employer will consider u are damaged stuff and he can exploit u endlessly. if u receive a job set aside from the other place (for more $) you could use it to negotiate a raise at your current situation but sounds like you should mull over about moving on.
I wouldnt describe them I had another mission interview... Just make up an excuse why you want an hour off.
No don't update they any thing, they could use it to agree to you go so take heed...Good luck with your interview.
no, because you might not attain the job. so i'd dally and see.

good luck!
If you are depressing at your job, you should discuss this beside your boss and explain why. If they (he) just give you lip service, then progress look for another job. Do not discuss this near your current employer. When you get the fresh job, quit your matured job. If at that time they counter bestow, you should consider it, only near the caveat that it took the act of quiting to carry their attention.
Just say you necessitate some time off for personal reason.

Let me make something clear to you. You don' t procure what you want or deserve, you get what you negotiate.

Go bring back an offer from that other company. It looks resembling you left you present co embezzle advantage of you. Time to verbs.

Why do employer feel your remuneration is objective?

Question:
I know where the in one piece poverty working 2 jobs and not making satisfactory comes from. It comes from piss poor investors who open a lousy business and expect you to live on $7 an hour. It is in recent times ludacris. I wish underpaid workers would fuse and go on strike and show their companies where on earth to stuff it. To all the business owners out within your day is coming. You have better have a descent business previously you hire our moms and spouses to work for your lousy wages. This country sucks anymore.

Answer:
They pay those wages because to be precise what the labor being provided is worth. If that's not ample for an individual to live on they need to acquire some skills so that they can provide more expensive labor. It would be irresponsible for businesses to pay more to an hand than their work is actually worth. That would eventually run the company out of business and consequently the employees wouldn't even enjoy the $7 an hour.
Simply comes down to this: If you want to be paid more - be worth more; you carry paid the complex wages AFTER you prove you're worth it, not before.
When you are an employer you try to construct by saving on charge, paying less force, etc. It is just that when you are an employer you want to net money, because of your achievement, you don't want to loose over partly of the money paying taxes, paying employees, etc.
I'm a business owner, and we are not adjectives rich people bringing within big money--I'm sure my employees consider I am when they see the money come in but, what they don't see is allllll the money that go out--I have leveraged my home, I enjoy 7 credit cards maxed out, I also have 3 children to nurture, so don't whine to me about not getting compensated enough, I don't even attain a pay check--but adjectives my employees do!! If I hold to pay more the $7 an hour in that goes adjectives those jobs because I will be out of business!! I enjoy to pay rent, I own to pay for insurance, I own to pay employment levy, I have to settle for phone and internet, I have to retribution for power.. should i keep going. Hopefully surrounded by the long run I will be rich bringing in the money but it will be capably deserved on my part and several other business owners out there are indistinguishable.

Silly boy if all business made money right away everyone would be starting their own business--its in recent times not the way things work, I'm liable to struggle for a few years to not ever have to verbs about money ever again. I personal can't infer of any buisness you could start, and make money right away, or everyone would be doing it. Every business human being knows 3-5 years in the past you make money. You don't freshly start a business and become rich, and if no one started business because, it would be to intricate to make a living on later we would be one sad poor country, you deem $7 and hour is bad trying going somewhere where on earth no one starts a business, and not a soul gets compensated, there would be not a soul to work for. Just because I get rich stale my business does not mean, I should hold to pay my organization more--I laid it all on the stripe, thus I should reap the rewards.
I understand what your adage. But, small biz especially has to cut costs doesn`t matter what way they can. If you wish to work for someone who pays $7 an hour, usually they are a small biz that can't afford to pay you much more.

If you work for $7 an hour at a generous biz, then you can't complain. Employment is "at-will" and you can find another undertaking.
They know that they are not fair, they purely don't care. If they earnings you more it eats into their profits. You're right, I don't know how anyone could live on $7.00 an hour. Hell, I don't know how they can live on 15.00 an hour. It's Corporate America, stealing from the small guy to wad their own wallets. I say aloud take adjectives of these executives and pay them 20.00 an hour max. If this country did that to our establishment, paid them 20.00 an hour beside no special benefits on retirement, then I would bet, they would bring back off of their asses and transmutation a few things
Wow! You think employer open businesses to hire your impudent margarine? They open businesses to do better for themselves and their family.
A side effect (benefit) of their attempts to do better for themselves is to drag the likes of you up near them.
How about YOU interested a business employ others as you articulate they should be employed and show us all how it's done.
Do you quality better now? As an employer I enjoy heard these reason for wanting a raise: My wife say I should make more: I want to buy a boat: I spend adjectives my money before the subsequent payday.
The only cause to pay more is when the hand gives me convenience in return. More production - smaller number mistakes - customer satisfaction - dependability. I want to engineer sure I retain that employee. If the employer does not meaning effort such as this, conceivably it is time to move on to one that does.

I would find that situation intolerable and I would talk to the supervisor.

Does anyone know of a career that hires at the age of fifteen?

Question:

Answer:
taco bell..........McDonald's
McDonalds
Kroger grocery store or Chik-Fil-A. I would recommend Kroger, if you have one surrounded by your town, it is much more fun, and more kids your age.
Mostly food places - try your small resturants - family style - but the payment sucks because most of your wages are hopefully tips.

Oh - I was a business canon student - these businesses have to follow strict curfew and time contrants. It is totally rare for a business to hire a 15 year antiquated and have them work more than 5 - 6 hours a daylight, and no later than 9pm, majority will enjoy you done by 7pm.
Mainly fast food restaurants such as Sonic.
Check near your school district's ROP organization. I got a profession through mine at 13.
Paper round. Thats about your lot!
You can try babysitting within your neighborhood. McDonalds, basically any swiftly food place, but also try to see if you can get something from your conservatory, the career center usually have jobs for students, that might be comparatively useful. YOu can also ponder of doing a co-op internship, you work one week and go to arts school the other, it's all done at the arts school, check what the age minimum is, I did when I was 16. It give you an idea of the work force. But, instead if you don't really HAVE to work, I would really spend much of my available time on volunteer work, get a sense of what you want to study within college, join clubs and groups at your conservatory because when its time to apply to college which is just a couple years from that, your volunteer work will prepare you for the right profession and your clubs and organizations you aligned will help you beside scholarships and grant for college.

Good luck finding something you like to do and making a couple extra bucks.
u could try AMC theaters if ur close one...they hire at 15 sometimes
Outside of the basics approaching raking leaves, mowing lawns, housecleaning, or babysitting, here really aren't too many. Even those companies/positions that conceivably might(paper routes, in a hurry food, summer camps, bag groceries, and the like) typically don't hire that young contained by most situations. Working around labor regulations, lack of reliable transportation, and legitimate liability are all factor here. If you are looking for a job because your parents want you to enjoy one, I'd get a college counselor involved if I were you. Times are different very soon than they were surrounded by your parents' time, and your folks are more likely to see that if nearby is an objective mature on your side.

How do you determine your hourly rate when compensated by gross?

Question:

Answer:
Salary/2080 hours = hourly rate
Roughly, if you are paid monthly, divide your annual income by 12 then 4, later divide that number by your contracted weekly hours.

e.g. Someone on 15K would earn approximately 8.44 an hour.
Divide your yearly net by 52 to get your weekly;
divide your weekly by 5 to grasp your daily; divide your on a daily basis by 8 to get your hourly. B.
divide you 're remuneration by the number of hours you actually work....i know some on stipend that make smaller quantity then min.wage when they do it that process
Hourly rate not including vacation should be number of working weeks per year (say 50) and number of hours per week (40)

Salary / 2000 = approx. hourly rate.

Ofcourse you can use the Salary / 2080 when you want to include the time off pay as resourcefully.
If you are not getting paid for overtime, next divide your salary by the number of hours you meditate you worked. This will give you your powerful hourly rate. If you do get compensated for overtime (usually 1.5 times your hourly rate), you should be able to use the overtime recompense to see what the company thinks your hourly rate is.
Divide your every twelve months salary by 2080. That will be your hourly rate. 2080 is how oodles hours that you are dividing your salary by. 40 a week times 52 is 2080. That is what us accountants use.

Business attire?

Question:
I'm a junior in high-ranking school going for her first assignment interview. What is considered proper business attire for someone my age? Please give clear descriptions. I usually wear pant, not skirts. What options are within other than a suit?

Answer:
It depends somewhat bit on where you are interviewing. If you are applying at a local retailer, you would probably be fine next to khakis and a nice blouse or buttoned shirt. If you are interviewing for a more formal corporation, you might consider black dress slack.s and a woman's dress jacket on top of a turtleneck.

Good luck getting your first available job!
A button shirt and dress pants should be fine. Just don't wear anything revealing or too much foundation and you'll be fine. Good luck!
Depending on where you are going to interview, you could wear a nice duo of slacks (not cargo pant, not dockers) with a dress blouse to the interview. You want to hold your hair, jewelry, fingernails and makeup verbs and neat, not overdone or delirious. No strange colors of lipstick or nail polish, nought over the top. If you have a nice dress or skirt it would be better to wear that if you could.
Business attire today have gotten more casual, but that doesn't scrounging you shouldn't dress appropriately. Usually black slacks with a professional type blouse. White would be the best but you can wear other colors. I enjoy a black shirt with white pinstriping to be precise professional looking that I've worn to interviews.
