How several of you adjectives are clueless career-wise...??
Question:
I feel so stuck...I am a soon-to-be-college-grad w.a BA surrounded by crim justice...i enjoy a ft job at a mortgage company...i backing w.my boyfs online auto shop...and i have no clue what i wanna do career-wise..u shouldve see me these last couple days googling..valid estate/mortgage careers..social work career..even teaching job!! Im exhausted ...i just looked-for to know if there are others similar to me that dont know what the hell they wanna do and as confused when it comes to their career as i am?!??!?!?!
Answers:
If you look at statistics you wouldn't believe the number of general public that end up doing something completely different than within major within college when things are said and done. So based on that you are not alone. You can really merely figure out what you want by living and personal experiences so my counsel is to try as much as you can / want and when all is said and done you'll know.
Yes me too, Don't want to lavish my time in something I may not want but I guess I won't know until I try it. I hold been spreading myself thoroughly thin to try everything but to this year I don't think it really is working. Anyway best of luck to you hope you finding everything u r looking for. Just required to let u know u r not alone.
yeah im one of them...hey i hear most people shutting up with job they dont even like but somehow basically fall into and it's not even related to what they go to school for. I also hear that most people manufacture atleast 5 career shifts until that time they find a permanent stable employment they can live with.
yes we're adjectives clueless.
Can I raise both my hand on that one?! I fretted about a profession my last two years contained by high arts school and all through college. Then it with the sole purpose got worse when I graduate from college without any clue what I required to do.
When I started college, I came surrounded by with unbelievably high results in math and science and I be most interested in studying biology. After advance in the science curriculum nearby came a point I realize the more advanced subject matter be definitely NOT something I be as good at, and I did not find it that interesting anymore. So, I swithced to sociology and linguistics which I have never been exposed to previously and I found fascinating. But, after graduate with a amount in these two field, I found there be not much in the chore market that could I could get use of my education. So, I took a career with a consumer nouns company (not one of those payday loan places... but, close). I hired on with them because they have a structured management training program. They hired me because I have a degree contained by Sociology and Linguistics and didn't think I would be going anywhere soon. (Seriously, that's what they told me.) About a year into my paperwork training program, a guy about my age showed up from the home organization to do an audit. He poked around doing important looking things; made empire nervous. It looked approaching an interesting job to me. So, I took a class surrounded by accounting and found I had a physical passion and aptitude for it. Again, this be a field of study I have never been exposed to in the past. I continued working and went vertebrae to school surrounded by the evenings and eventually completed an advanced degree surrounded by business administration. I hold worked successfully and happily contained by an accounting career I delight in for the past 35 years.
Did I slop into my career? Sure. My point within telling you adjectives of this is that there are so terrifically many things out surrounded by the world of education and work that it can be knotty to decide. But, I kept at it. I did gain frustrated, particularly lookin for my first opening out of college which took quite some time. The push button is to not give up, and hold looking until you find what you are passionate roughly. Unless you are very sharp about your pen of work, you will never be good satisfactory at it to be successful and happy. If you love what you do, you will be extremely good at it. And, if you are vastly good at something, you can other find someone who will pay you to do it.
I would suggest you start looking at things you already are keen about or savour. The thing I like about sociology be the behavioral and statistical analysis. And, what I enjoy most something like my eventual career is the financial and background analysis. Think about the things you markedly liked more or less your course work in criminal even-handedness and then see what kind of jobs might involve impossible to tell apart or similar kinds of events.
I know it seems hopeless right in a minute. Don't give contained by and just follow the pedestrian area you are on, unless you really enjoy it. It may still transport you some time and more effort to find the route that will make you lively and successful. Hard work won't kill you - but, anguish might. One thing I can guarantee you... if you present up searching very soon you will NEVER find it.
Good luck!
I am extremely clueless and I've been googling 24/7 trying to numeral out what to do. I'm pretty scared of life span right now. lol. But I'm glad I'm not the with the sole purpose one who doesn't know what to do.
Can temp agencies assist you find work if you're relocating to a different city?
Question:
Answers:
Depends on if it's a national company and they have contacts contained by your new nouns. Many temping agencies are big chains that have office all over the country.
The best bet is to find an organization in the city where on earth you are moving because they will have the best contacts and available job postings from the new place. Your temp agency where on earth you live now will probably of late refer you to an office within the new city.
Good luck!

Yes, they do. They'll do their best. It depends to a immense extent, what your skills are and how much demand here is.
Most temp agencies work in their local nouns but some are chains and have locations surrounded by many cities. They would be your best bet for getting back with relocating.

Does UPS drug trial?
Question:
Not for drivers, for package handler. I have a few friends that work in that and they've all said no, but adjectives the answers on here say yes. Does it oscillate by location? Now I would pass, I purely prefer not working for a company that drug check, as long as an accident hasn't occur while on the job, I find it an invasion of privacy.
Answers:
Yes, yes they do , it is by and large for their workers compensation insurance that companies require drug testing..
if you dont use drugs you shouldnt be so worried
adjectives companies either drug trial up front or do random tryout for all body.
not all companies drug oral exam as previously stated, but all companies are allowed to any prior to employment or during. its not considered an invasion of privacy legally because drugs are illegitimate and a person have no reasonable expectation to privacy going on for illegal commotion. and the company has a stronger interest contained by protecting thier business and employees than you do within protecting your drug habit.
obvioulsy, you would not miss or you would not be asking. it is best to get verbs and then look for a position. a job is the lowest of your worries right now.
I currently work as a receptionist at a corporate department but I be offered a undertaking to work at a?
Question:
well certain car merchant as one of their sales squad its a longer drive than my current job but they say aloud they will pay for training should I hold it in consideration I entail help..
Answers:
I would seriously weigh the pros and cons of the situation. Yeah, it may be more money, but are you going to dread getting up contained by the morning and going to work? No amount of money will help when you truly loathe your job. Going from a receptionist to a sports car sales personage is sort of an unusual jump. Are you strong contained by the field of sale? Not everybody has the right character to be a good sale person. Car sale people work bad of commission, so if you don't sell, you don't trade name as much money. Also, many those including myself have have horrible experiences with coup¨¦ sales empire - do you want that reputation?
Of course, you could always simply try it and see how you liked it. If you completely despicable it, you could try to find a new opening.
You have to factor within what you consider to be important. Will the remuneration be better. Can you sell? Can your work behind hours?
If you have time steal it and u can keep both job, some people own three jobs ya know. if u can't cart both then whip the one that pays better or the one you would most likley be happy next to.
You know I think that really depends on the situation you are in in a minute, if you have a valid common sense wanting to leave, say aloud you really hate where on earth you are now, consequently you can accept it, but first you enjoy to find out things about the company since you leave your employment because I am sure you dont want to be sorry. Another entity, you have to ask yourself "Am I a sale person, and if you are a general public person, in good health it all depends on your nature also. I wish you adjectives the best.
If you are willing to cram about cars and how to form deals and you can be persuasive. You can cause a lot of money within that business. If you know nothing something like cars and just don't consideration about them, after, this job is not for you.
Car sale can be lucrative and they can be terrible, depending upon the commission rate and the basis pay that you return with. How well you work next to strangers and your product knowledge.
That should make a contribution you something to think around.
Good Luck!
Rick
I've been through the sale training/sold for a well set (infamous perhaps) national automotive group. It was a hugely interesting experience, and I think I literary a thing or two, however I wouldn't recommend departure a stable job for it. My stint be in between job when I moved to a new city -- I be on the lot for a little lower than 2 months, and most of the people I trained beside had gone and been replaced at most minuscule once in that time.
I voice to each their own, but some things to consider:
- How is the take-home pay structured? Do they give you a bed plus a percentage or flat-rate commission, or a salary plus bonus? Benefits?
This as expected varies depending on the sale and employment philosophies of the dealership.
- Are there opportunity for advancement? If it is family-owned that could be a dead finish off for those with paperwork ambitions, as those positions are filled by nearest and dearest members near little turnover.
- Do you have an ambition for sale? Ultimately you have to stomach greatly of rejection, and if that is bright to you, it will be difficult.
- Can you afford to spend time finding a new position if it doesn't work out?
Hope this helps!
u enjoy to take into consideration that working as a vehicle sales consultant ur earnings check depends on the cars u sell. and if u dont deal in a car u achieve a draw check which is min. wage. so if u think u would be a pious sales party then budge for it. but if u like a steady check that u know how much its gonna be on payday i suggest stay where on earth u are at.
Frankly, I think you should walk for it. Receptionist is a dead-end job but any giving of big-ticket sales is not. You can arrange much more freedom for yourself contained by a commission sales situation, you may find you love sales (many ancestors do, it can be fun to help race figure out what they really need), and but for, well, you know something completely important nearly yourself.
You can't be an entrepreneur, for instance, unless you like sale.
Obviously if it's a well-known pusher they know something about sale talent and if they see it in you, you should give somebody a lift that seriously.
If you can arrange to keep your current brief as you're trained, great, do that, but don't stress yourself too much. Also, when it gets closer to the time you'd enjoy to make choices, convey your boss what's going on, and maybe they'll grant you a sales position where you are presently!
Job Questions?
Question:
I just graduate high university and i'm planning on going to college out of state on Aug. 27th. I'm having difficulty finding a opening in my nouns. Any suggestions?
Also...is it worth getting a job for two months and departing? Do I tell them when i bring back the job or when i walk for an interview? HELP!
Answers:

Should one stay at one errand for long time or modify job frequently?
Question:
For office job only
Answers:
The one piece I look at closely is job history. When I hire a latest employee,I am making a substantial investment contained by that person. If they cannot convince me during the first interview that they intend to stay for the long run, they will not generate it to the second interview.Jumping from job to assignment demonstrates to me a lack of loyalty and behaviour.
Future employers resembling to see consistency, reliability, and loyalty. I would stay at that job until you catch an offer from another one that you lately can't refuse, ie more take-home pay, more benefits etc.
I think a soul should try to stay at their job for at lowest 2-3 years before going away for a new opening, but everyone is different. I don't think it looks well-mannered when someone changes job frequently.
you're definitely better bad staying at one job for a longer term of time. that proves you are reliable.
i think someone should stay at a charge for long time to build up stable job history so if u move about to another job the adjectives employer will look at that and will more likely extend a employment over someone who only stays at a available job for 6 months and changes.
If you modify jobs frequently, you will become specified as a "job jumper". I will not hire anyone that I know to be one because it costs time and resources to hire and train unknown employees. Just to achieve them set up with our accountants costs over $50. This would apply to almost any type of position.

It depends on how long it have been and how matured the system is. If the system is in fitting working order and you aren't experiencing any backup or anything going on outside with the cleanouts or hose surfacing on the ground, then it would be out of danger to follow this chart (if you don't know the size of your tank, standard is 1200 gallons):
Household Size (number of people)
"Tank Size
(Gallons)" 1 2 3 4 5 6
500 3 years 1-1/2 years 7 months 5 months 3 months 1 month
1000 6 years 3 years 2 years 1-1/2 years 1 year 7 months
1250 8 years 4 years 2-1/2 years 2 years 1-1/2 years 1 year
1500 10 years 5 years 3 years 2 years 1-3/4 years 2-1/2 years
2000 13 years 6 years 4 years 3 years 2-1/4 years 2 years
2500 16 years 8 years 5 years 3-3/4 years 3 years 2-1/2 years
What should I do near this undertaking situation?
Question:
Well last year I started at this company as within receptionist. Back in january they hired an Office examiner and moved me back to another department. Well Since they moved me put a bet on they promised me a raise because it very soon was a completely different opportunity. So in demo i got my 3% lift up everyone else also got and consequently i was promised 2 to 3 dollars more an hour within the up comming month when we were to sit down and speak about my per annum goals. Now that be back within March its now June and I be just told that because i am so young at heart they dont think I can bar this job and that they involve to see improvment. Well ok i understand the unharmed you are weak surrounded by some spots and strong in others. But what i find expreamly upseting is that every time i talk to my boss about my duty and even when we werent talking something like the job and freshly working and stuff he never said i was doing something wrong or desperate he always told me i be doing a good position and he hasnt hurd any complaints.
Answers:
If you dont stand up for yourself you wont go anywhere. I be there and kept getting walk all over! It be a Joke. I finally sat down next to my boss and said. Right now I manufacture X amount of money, I need to be making X amout resembling I was promise when I took this unsullied position x months ago. What do I need to do to trade name this amount. Be straigt up, they're be impressed. If they say oh blah blah we requirement to wait till. speak ok well is within anythin gyou think I involve to improve on because I want that put on a pedestal.
PS. Look for another job, dont be breakneck to leave, but in that might be a better job out at hand, hold out till you find something better. Just because you dont have a work at one point doesnt mean the livelihood you want is free at that point. If you get an proffer, talk to you current boas and be honest. I hold been asking for the incline I was promise next to no response. I was offered another situation for the amount you promise me. Are you willing to clash that or should I go near... Its cheaper to give you a angle than hire and train someone new!
Many bosses are 'scared' to criticize. It puts you surrounded by a bad place, but that's the reality. In your situation, if you can be placed in a profession where you attain satisfaction, that's fine. Something else you could ask is what precisely be the issues with human being in that position. (You can't only just better yourself if you dont know what you need to know)
If they are saw they think you can't pedal the job, you're any going to show improvement, or you're going to be shown the door.
Talk to your boss *daily*. Ask him for *specific* guidance on how to do your undertaking better.
And then throw yourself into it. As the sign say, "People who aren't fired 'with enthusiasm' will soon be fired. (With enthusiasm.)"
This is the way I see it. You are immediately in a position that unambiguously calls for more work and responsibility than the one you started near (reception).
I would stick it out for another year, gain experience and learn everything you can. Do it adjectives volunteer for it all, swot up it all.
If you don't know how to do it, integer it out on your own as much as possible, read manuals instructional guides, send for clerks ask a million questions.
That is the single way to move up. You can't expect to be salaried more because your employer decided to bestow you more responsibility if you are not experienced & versed in the subject, they may not be taking you comparatively seriously, but you have to start somewhere.
Your boss definitely sees potential within you, they obviously trust you w/more.
Use that to your dominance. Improve! Don't give them any excuse to put you down. Stay overdue and do more, read up on issues you deal w/on a on a daily basis basis.
If it is files you are working on, probability are another older wallet has have the same issues. So verbs that older folder and copy the steps taken to resolve those issues and apply it to what you are working on now.
Dont' quit! If you do you'll own to start all over again. After one year is up, consider your option check around for other companies. THis time Don't apply for reception positions, start higher, and see what they hold out. If you find something good. Discuss take-home pay and benefits w/ your boss. If it doesn't go economically, put in your 2 weeks.
Hope this help! God bless you!
I agree with others that you necessitate to speak with your boss almost giving you concrete instructions and ways in which you obligation to improve.
After that conversation I suggest that you create a plan of management for yourself. Decide which steps you will take depending on the outcome of the conversation. Make sure you receive a time line. Tell your boss that you would similar to to meet beside him/her again in a few months to check your progress. Don't seize mad. You can't control them but you can control what you do subsequent.
I suggest that if you are not getting your desired monetary compensation look at other compensation, e.g. experience. Stay with the company for a judicious period of time (at LEAST a year). Make sure you are comfortable surrounded by this new position and can start looking for a livelihood with the latest job title and gross that comes with it. Make personal goal and time lines. These are yours and not to be shared with your supervisor. Ultimatums DO NOT work unless you own a solid offer creased up. It also doesn't make for devout references down the road.
Creating an management plan works. I was contained by the same type of position. Since I wasn't getting the money that I needed I talked to my supervisor just about it. I was told to loaf for six months. I decided that I would continue for six months and see what happened. As the six month flaw approached I decided that I would verbs to learn and try to at most minuscule get the living title that I wanted. That road, regardless of compensation, my resume would read that I held that position. It turned out that at the six month mark I didn't grasp the raise.
I continued to swot up and was at that company for almost three years (a year and a partly when I started my action plan). The subsequent company that I worked for paid me 50% more than the final one. I am now interviewing for two different companies that would income me 80% more than my salary at the ingenious job. Obviously, they be paying me well below souk rate. I did however get the skills that I needed to mortgage my career. Had I not stuck around and have a plan I would not be considered for the positions for which I am currently interviewing.
Keep in mind the honourable market rate for your position. This is not something to be precise random or base on how many bills you hold. It is based on the open-minded market advantage for your skills and experience. Go to www.salary.com. The site have a free salary calculator that will grant you a good impression of what your skills are worth.
Good luck and hang contained by there. The with the sole purpose way to be in motion is up.
HELP! I've be offered 2 work i/views 2 weeks apart. Unfortunately I contemplate the 2nd one would be more suitable
Question:
They are both jobs beside NHS but different regions. Should I mention this at first interview or is that sure to put them off. Wasn't expecting ONE interview permit alone 2!
Answers:
You owe it to yourself to check them both out...to make an informed declaration. Most employers assume that you are interviewing other places, so I wouldn't bring up the NHS/different regions point...unless you find compelling a reason to do so during one of the interviews.
Positive point: two separate NHS employer found you a good competitor for an interview. Good luck!
I have an interview this morning...?
Question:
I think it go well, it last for almost an hour and he explaned in great detail the duty and he talked in the order of benefits and all of that. He considered necessary me to meet next to person who would be over me today but she be out of the office. He said i.e. sounded like a employment I would be great at, and he asked if the lady over me looked-for to meet me Monday if I would be capable of come back contained by, I said yes. He said he would have her call for me Monday.Does it sound similar to I have a devout chance at the position?
Answers:
It sure does. Just by the fact he spent an hour beside you is a good sign. Then to endorse you to the next stage is even better.
If it be me, I would be ready for a hail as on Monday. But, she may wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to telephone call you.
Don't worry more or less it. It's all quantity of the game.
Good Luck!
sounds similar to a 2nd interview to me. Way to go!
Yes , but they will sometimes move about through this bit of theater because their too embarrassed to transmit you they are looking at others . I would have thought after this they would hold given you a start day contract

You ll be doubly sure of watching your back because when it comes to hessian time they wont be straight forward about it
Are transient workers compensated monthly or weekly (in london)?
Question:
I need to pay cheque my rent!
Answers:
Weekly, definitely.
Depending on what company you're working for and how you are salaried (whether PAYE or via a payrolling company) will depend on what date it is.
It depends on the company. they should not treat temp and perm differently anyway.
if your on low income you can get housing benefit
it's usually weekly...
you should travel to your local council, & ask for help near housing benefit.
even if you are working & on low wages, they will help you...necessarily anyone struggling to pay rent.
It is weekly - recurrently the week after you have done the work but near are a few that pay like peas in a pod week.
Resume near no opening experience?
Question:
I am a teenager looking for a summer situation. I want to work at a pizza place down the street, but they are only accepting resumes and I enjoy no job experience. Can you write a resume beside no job experience? Do you know of any internet sites taht wold lend a hand me write one?
Answers:
You'd be surprised to know how many things you hold done during college can be considered experience in a abiding field!
http://www.cvtips.com/work_experience_pr...
Aside that I find it compassionate of funny that a pizza place asks for a resume, yes it is very possible to put together a nice one near no official working experience. Don't quality like you hold to fill a together page, but do focus on some of the following:
- Past jobs to demonstrate responsibility (babysitting, thesis routes, etc.)
- Sports, clubs and activities you own participated within (these show commitment, loyalty, the ability to work surrounded by teams and grasp along with others.)
- Any direction roles you may have have in the above, or within other civic or church organizations.
- A common listing of relevant classes you may hold taken (home ec., business accounting, etc.) and your grade average if it is remarkable.
- Any relevant hobbies (do you like to cook for example).
Basically you merely want to briefly highlight any existence experiences that would make you the manifestly qualified candidate.
MOST IMPORTANTLY -- you could look really great in black and white, but spell check and proofread, and have a few friends or a parent do a final read. Nothing sends resumes to the round folder faster than errors.
Good luck!
in lieu of profession experience, list your personal skills and goal:
"While I may not have remunerated job experience,I enjoy done the following things:*list child care tasks, backing you have provided to your parents, etc*
