HR probably told Carol's boss that she's treading dangerous ground! If you friend have an offer, even thought it's conditional, that's intricate to revoke without a valid motivation. However, does your friend really want to work with someone seemingly as unprofessional as Carol's boss? She might want to own a talk near Carol again before she commits. And she's completely inside her rights to not give thought until the details are finalized.
Sounds like a focal cluster to me

I'd forget the position, and the ex boss

Pls relate me what does a freelancer do? I call for to know everything in the order of freelancing.?

Question:

Answers:
Hi White Angel, Hollie here.

Well, a freelancer, otherwise
known as an “independent contractor,” can be adjectives of these
things.Freelance workers are self-employed. But they don't own a store like a
merchant, a professional organization, like a doctor or advocate, or a salon like a
hairstylist. Instead they contract beside employers to provide services or
complete projects.
They can travel to a client’s worksite to do a undertaking, or they
can work at home and send a project to the client. Sometimes they enjoy
a lot of different projects near a lot of different clients adjectives going
at once. Sometimes they work for just one client at a time, taking on
up to date work only after they enjoy completely put a project “to bed.”
They can be paid by the project, by the hour, or sign a contract beside a
company to work a finite amount of time for a specific sum. Some
freelancers also opt to work as occasional temp workers, especially when they
find themselves between projects—and paychecks.
But what's critical is this: most freelancers work on a
project-by-project basis. Whether the project is a movie, a video activity, a cd, a
book, a technical report, or even a show, freelancers are hired
to do their jobs because they hold specific skills that can meet a totally
specific task. More repeatedly than not, freelancers work on creative
projects. There’s a couple reasons for this.
Many creative job are solitary pursuits, easily conducted at the back
the closed doors of a home office or studio. Meetings, water-cooler
chatter and department politics, can actually distract creative types—writers,
artists and designers—from the kindly of concentration it takes to
design a book jacket, write an article, or design a video team game.
The fruit of many creative job is an intellectual or creative
“product” that can easily be sent to a client beside the click of a mouse.
Unlike receptionists, store clerks or dentists who have to work
face-to-face beside clients and customers, many creative freelancing
professionals don’t interact beside the public or even colleagues and bosses.
Enticing but sometimes a tough life. Admittedly, freelancing carry
a certain allure. There’s something greatly attractive about decide
when you will and will not work. But the truth is that there are as masses
hardships as luxuries within this line of work. The natural life of any freelancer
is fraught with dawdling. Freelancers don’t know where tfheir subsequent
paycheck will come from. Such uncertainty take a psychological toll,
as does the knowledge that if the discount slows they will most likely
be the first to bring back sacked. Plus, there’s never any guarantee that
today’s loyal client won’t be tomorrow’s turncoat, when a brand new,
bright-eyed freelancer shows up with a few more skills lower than the belt along
with negotiate basement rates.
Careers beside lots of freelancers Animators

And lots more, chiefly surrounded by managerial, professional, construction,
sale & production jobs.
You've really get to know your business. Besides all this,
there’s more to freelancing than basically knowing how to draw, design interface
programs, write, make music, or what hold you. A big part of the
freelancing business is business itself, requiring a appropriate grasp of
bookkeeping, marketing, accounting and tax and retirement planning. Freelancers
hold to know how to drum up unsullied clients, how to self-promote, network,
and install their work schedules, not to mention their lives. They
must settle for their own health insurance, and remember to rate income and
social security levy each quarter. They must also be adept at knowing how
to cajole a behind time check out of the hands of a slow-poke client. It's
not for everybody, but some folks just love this duration. Despite what can
be the pretty hefty down side to freelancing, the people who do it
give the impression of being to love it. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the vast
majority of freelancers, (who, by the instrument, tend to be over the age of
35, white, male and more outstandingly educated than the average worker),
prefer this type of arrangement to self just a plain outmoded, regular
employee. “They enjoy found that this route is still more secure and more
profitable,” say Don McLaurin, chief executive of the National
Association of Computer Consultant Businesses in Alexandria, VA, of IT workers
who own gone solo. So, it appears, the ranks of freelancers will not
thin anytime soon, no situation how “fuzzy” freelancing may sound to
the rest of us.
a writer?
A freelancer is resembling a contractor - they work for themselves, rather than self employed by a company.
origami is right - a freelancer does what an employee does, but in need being an hand.

Sometimes, they are referred to as 1099 contractors also.

But your question does importune the question - a freelance what?
Like the first answerer shared - commonly people refer to freelance writers - these are relatives who don't work for only one magazine/newspaper - they a short time ago turn in articles and hope to be published.

Hope that help!
There is a lot to know...
The most essential thing for finding work is network, which is fine if you're a people creature, but if not...it could be harder to capture things, though not entirely impossible.

It really depends on the kind of work you are looking for.

Follow the cooperation to the site that I provided. I was a freelancer contained by publishing and this site has be an enormous abet. Freelancers Union:http://www.freelancersunion.org/.

They host networking party and events and give you tons of info give or take a few taxes and things like robustness insurance.

Good luck, I believe freelance is the way to jump in vivacity, but it is not cake. You need to be organized for change and some financial instability, especially when you are starting out, if you quit your afternoon job.

Follow up phone ring to a chore recruiter?

Question:
Someone from Raytheon contacted me via phone yesterday, asking me a serious of questions relating to my skills and their brief opening. The phone conversation go Very well, and she said she have a couple more calls to craft, and that she would give me a phone back any way.

Question is, as I am VERY interested contained by both the company and job, should I furnish her a call wager on today? If I were to dispense her a call what exactly should I say-so? I really would love the job, and know I would be an asset to them!

Answers:
I regard as you should wait until Monday - in the future is too soon, she may still be making the first round of calls.

The call upon back usually sounds similar to a mini-cover letter - you want to accentuate your strengths and ask about the status of the position.

"Hi ____, Thank you for calling me on Thursday. I am greatly interested in the position as a ____ for Raytheon. I believe that my milieu and experience in this pen would be a good clash for this company. I know that I would be an asset with my frozen work and dedication. You had mentioned that you still have some calls to build - I just looked-for to follow up on the status of my candidacy? What can I do to facilitate the process from my end? Thank you for your time." (This is written more similar to a voicemail - obviously you wouldn't speak this verbatim - especially if you catch the recruiter!)

Best of luck!
I would provide her a call rear, it shows that you are persistent and interested. Just be professional when you give the name. Good luck!
call her rear legs the following day, assuming she does not phone you.
Even the best job recruiter requests a few business days to process candidates near the company's they work for. Generally a good thought to follow-up same day near an e-mail thanking for the consideration and express interest nearly the offer, but loaf 3-4 business days before you follow-up on status.
i agree near tigglys. next time ask the recruiter how far along they are contained by the process. this will allow you to better gauge timing of your nickname next time - whether close of week, next week or two weeks from presently would be a good time to follow up. do express your interest and be demanding. good luck.

Shared bedsit?

Question:
I'm starting a new situation on monday in london and will be living contained by shared accommodation. have anyone here done this before if so do u enjoy any advice for me? gratefulness

Answers:
Depends what you mean by shared rooms?
I rented a room in a house a short time ago outside Harrow nice and cheap, everything was shared next to a total of six rooms being rented out.
The kitchen be shared , the room next to mine be shared by 5 Chinese fellers that couldn't speak a word of English ,they all worked extraordinarily strange hours in a local Chinese restaurant if I be cooking they would wander surrounded by as I was cooking and pick up a spoon and dip it into doesn`t matter what I had on the shift, then any give me a thumb up, or verbs a face to permit me know they thought I was making cr*p!
This initially get right up my nose, adjectives they seemed to chomp through was big bowls of boiled rice!! After a few weeks I popped into the kitchen as they be using it and dipped a spoon in the bowl, it be tasteless, I informed them of this certainty by holding my nose and doing my impersonation of flushing a bog!!
They all thought this be a great crack!
All sorts shared that house we ended getting on fine, my contract last 6 months, I don't regret a minute of the sharing, you just obligation to get on near folk as best you can, live and let live.
Good luck.
I've never lived close to that but maybe I could still support. Keep all of your stuff surrounded by one area, verbs up after yourself and if you have anything explicitly important or attraction you might want to lock it in a small box and place it beneath your bed or in a dresser. And try to sign any food or stuff that my be in the fridge that you don't want anybody to put away. And be nice...good luck.
I currently work full time and live beside 7 students... 1 of which is my girlfriend. I have to influence it's not as bad as you'd have a sneaking suspicion that. I'm coming to the end of the contract immediately, we're starting to clean the house contained by hope of getting our deposits back - or some of it anyway. If you're living beside a couple people you should own no problems. Only advise I could supply is don't live in your bedroom - obtain to know them or i'll be harder for all of you.
I lived within shared student accomoodation for the last three years and did experience some problems.
My warning would be :

1) Discuss how bills are going to be paid - hold everyone's name on the bill and own everyone set up a direct debit each month into a bill explanation so you don't need to step round trying to get the money from others

2) If here are people currently surrounded by the house check the status of the bills so far. Due to a house flooding my univesity relocated me in my second year to another property and we asked roughly bills and were told it be fine then found out that they hadn't salaried any of them and with the charges applied for not paying the gas, electricity, internet etc we owed over 2000 pounds and it took a long time to go and get my name cleared and for the companies to adopt I was not liable for the debt.

3) Hopefully your housemates will also be working, but set down some house rules roughly speaking how loud things can be at night, have respect to tell others if you are going to hold parties etc. I used to work Saturday mornings and sometimes my housemates would own parties Friday night which lead to some conflict.

4) Arrange things resembling the cleaning etc... Don't be overly pushy with it, but create sure everyone knows that a bit of mess is okay, but things person unhygenic is not. My shared house had an agreement that our rooms could be as messy as we required, but they couldn't have food lay around and the communcal areas would be cleaned twice a week, which the kitchen being wipe over each daylight. Forcing people to keep going really high standards isn't possible, but you adjectives need to come to some sort of arrangement.
I live within shared accomodation and its great. just follow the flow of the others. If the enjoy a rota stick to it. If they all run out together or socialise then do so as very well. At least for the first few days.

Real estate flipping houses?

Question:
I am interested in flipping houses-- but not the typical agency. My cousin Jen said she has made more money sour her homes annually than her and her husbands actual jobs (teacher and net designer) They buy a home, live in it near their 3 kids, and fix it up for a bout a year-- then they trade and buy a new home and do like thing. Is this a devout idea? How could I do better? I be thinking about getting my definite estate license, and maybe a scope in home decor? Is in that such a thing? I'm a married sophomore within college-- any advice, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks contained by advance!

Answers:
What your cousin is doing works economically for them. Whether it would work well for you depends on abundant factors. do you own the necessary property? Do you have the skill to do the fixing up? Are you competent to select homes that are suitable? Can you assess the amount of work and the cost required to improve the home so that you restore your health more than you invested? Keep in mind that during the time you fix up the home, you will be paying interest on it. If you buy it for change you will be foregoing the interest you can earn on the cash by investing it contained by safe securities, such as CD's or treasury bonds. If you live surrounded by the house while you fix it you are saving on rent. You involve to consider all these things past you jump surrounded by. There are also books on the subject.

Of course you can study home decoration if your school offer courses. Getting a definite estate license is possible, but realtors have to work complicated to earn their living, just as near any other profession.

Does anyone know somewhere that hires at 14?

Question:
hi, just wondering, does anyone know of a company that will hire at 14 for a summer commission in england, i want money really desperately, i just want to remember what money feel like.

Answers:
Check this web-site for places you cannot work:
http://www.education-otherwise.org/legal...
also check your local council's law. I think you'll find working serving food & drink will not be allowed.
Most conservatory students I have worked beside have get Saturday jobs surrounded by small local shops.
Go along to hotels and restaurants and ask if they have any waiting-on job. A lot of places need extra staff for the summer and if you are apt they may take you on for weekends and at Christmas.
Try finding a babysitting errand, lawn service, house cleaning, etc for a neighbor. Something you could do for a homeowner who could recompense cash. You could also try the local golf courses as a caddie, or ask someone you know if they call for an office PA - if they own their business, they may let you folder papers, etc. Maybe you know a painter or other tradesman who needs someone to comfort with verbs up. Ask vet clinics if they need kennel assistants.

You will own to look hard, because most businesses will not hire below 16.

S
Hi! This is Sridhar here is a Specialist within Financial Planning. I had worked at Kotak Securities a couple of years hindmost, so probably i'll be able to throw some standard lamp on the matter.

Defination of Portfolio Management: The art and science of making decision about investment mix and policy, complementary investments to objectives, asset allocation for individuals and institutions, and balancing risk vs. execution. (Source: http://financial-dictionary.th... Management) This can be done by us (if we have expertise) or be done by a professional.

My Perspective: According to me within portfolio mgmt as a profession, a specific sum of money (in any form cash, shares, MF, etc) is given to be manage by professionals based on a pre arranged objective. This ambition may range from protecting the money (wealth mgmt) to taking high-ranking risk bets to earn high returns. The target also states where (debt, equity, genuine estate, commodities, private equity, venture financing, etc) the money is to be invested. The money is entrusted to the portfolio administrator as he is supposed to be a specialist in managing the money for a pre settled objective.

Primarily in that are two types of P.Mgmt.
1. Non-Discretionary: Here the money is invested in consultation beside the client. Here the role of a portfolio manager is that of an advisor. But consequently porfolio manager is not totally responsible for consultation the objectives in such a luggage.
2. Discretionary: In this type the client is required to give a power of attorney to the portfolio controller (or to the organisation that has a portfolio mgmt license). The client have no say within the management of his investments. The portfolio mgr is totally responsible for the money. Generally in attendance is a team of specialists who abet the portf mgr in managing the money. In the agreement sign by the client a specific clause is also mentioned that the portf mgr is not liable if the object of the client is not met. The risk is borne by the Client.

Practical Observations: As far as the objective is protecting the privileged circumstances against inflation is concerned, portfolio mgmt is a very successful surrounded by it. But when it comes to making higher returns (especially by investing surrounded by shares) i'm not so sure. Most of the times they r not able to outperform even average performing mutual funds. ***** But they will solely market within such a way that outperform the mutual funds. They do this by comparing ancient data of such period where they would own out performed the MFs. We involve to realise that they make money from 2 sources. One is brokerage on transactions and second is mgmt fees (fixed or on performance). Another disadvantage of this is that they trade recurrently (brokerage) leading to lot of tansactions next to short term assets gains. We hold to pay rates on these transctions not to mention that it becomes outstandingly difficult for us to undestand what the portf mgr is doing with our money.

I hope the above explanation give u an idea of what portfolio mgmt is. U can communication me at vetapalems@rediffmail.com if u have any other query.

In the link below is a comparison between Portf Mgmt and mutual funds. Go thro the best answer, it be written by me.

Job interview tomorrow...?

Question:
So i have my sixth opportunity interview tomorrow for a "real job". I really want to be prepared. I know my resume interests employer and gets me the interview but I own a hard time selling myself ample and standing out from the other candidates. Any suggestions?

Answers:
Well my hubby is a Sr. Vp at our company and he hires and fires, he tell me that the people he would look at first do the following:

- Dress and exploit professionally
- Be on time or precipitate but don't make him continue
- Do your research on the prospective company
- When you approach them for a job, don't try to supply yourself by stating your qualifications, they already know them from your resume if you did it right.
- What you do is narrate them what you can do to help them. For example, if you be to hire me I would .... and with that I would implement these aspects into my work experience to further the company

Basically, they already know you want the employment as does every other candidate, what they want to know from the interview is what you can do to lend a hand in the company to further the company.

Like if your applying for a charge as a receptionist you could say, I will show a professional and respectful attitude, kind all clients that enter the premises and show them that this company is a step above any other contained by this business. etc.

Good Luck with your interview!
YES

Be extremely professional. Dont dress too trendy or bimbo, for sure. Don't do that dumb 'girly laugh' that make women think they nouns cute, when in realness it's embarassing for everyone.

Now my big secret: Say "I would really similar to the chance to work here and I want you to know something nearly me. I'm NEVER LATE and I don't CALL IN SICK and I never say "That's not sector of my job". I'm here to work and I plan to do just that."

I can adjectives but promise you will get the opportunity, if you dress like a respectable full-grown, talk resembling one and say those things. I manage quite a bit and as any arranger will tell you.they hatred folks calling in, showing up behind or whining about things that obligation done.
I think the best track to be prepared for an interview is to study!

Answer questions employer typically ask before you even acquire there and JUST AS IMPORTANT: Assess you strength and fearfulness.

You must be able to identify what your vulnerability is before you achieve there and bring it up yourself until that time they even ask about it-then narrate them why they should hire despite your flaws. This way the hardest sector is over before you even start.

Here are some taster questions:

Do you own any experience (if the answer is no, then make clear to them how you make up for the insufficiency of)?

Why would you like to work for X company?

Do you perceive that you are qualified? Why?

What do you have to tender that will benefit our company?

Why should I hire you?

I hope this helps-remember, from personal experience, I can assure you that practice does make dependable!
Quickly do some research on this company. Show interest in the company, ask some question to your interviewer, such as "How long have you be here? What's the best thing you close to about this company?" This help you get on a more personal plane with your interviewer, and give you a better chance to be remembered, if he/she is seeing deeply of other applicants. It's important to present yourself as a squad player and someone who can be depended on to be there and bring the job done. Remember, it's adjectives about what you can do for them, and what they can carry out of you in language of "value for the dollar." Unless this is some species of youth-oriented company, you want to dress conservatively. Low heels, nice slacks or a skirt to the knees or below, a blouse or shirt WITH sleeves. Be ready to start right away, and if you hold social plans that might interfere with your dawn this job right away, evaluate which is more significant: This social engagement or you getting this job. It's adjectives about man ready to be a "company man (or woman)." During the interview, sit near your knees together, back straight, a modest smile on your facade and EYE CONTACT! Hands folded neatly contained by your lap. Gesturing slightly is okay, but don't be wave them madly. Don't cross your arms over your chest. It make you seem shielding. Smile, make eye contact, and greet EVERYONE here when you are going for the interview. You never know who you NEED to make a devout first impression near. Best wishes for success!
simple:

be ur self

keep hold of a smile on ur face

dress up not too much but a two of a kind of black slacks and a nice shirt

make sure u know what the position is and what it is just about so u can answer any question they ask u almost the posotion

shake their hand when u run into them and when u leave

be authentic with them dont fabrication

Should I ask to cart time rotten a latest living to attend a seminar?

Question:
I will be starting a new profession in belatedly July or early August. There is a seminar (relevant to my job) contained by mid-September that I would like to attend. I would not expect financial support from my investigational employer, but would it be appropriate to ask for the time off when I'm still unusual to the job? I'm not sure if they would be pleased that I want to develop myself professionally, or if they would be resentful that I'm asking for a week sour when I'm still new to the employment. Are there any charge etiquette rules about whether or not I should ask, or should I use my best decision about how my individual supervisors and boss would respond?

Answers:
There is nought wrong with respectfully asking your employer for concurrence to attend. It shows them that you are serious about your work and advancement. If your different employer is a larger company they may even foot the bill for your participation within this seminar. When they hired you I don’t think that they expected you to want to stay at impossible to tell apart job forever and letting them know that you are liable to spend your own money and take the time stale to attend a job related seminar have to put you in a extremely good wispy. This is a positive thing, not a glum one.

The worst that could happen is that they say-so no to attending and no to the time off. If that happen, take it splendidly, thank them for their consideration and look for the next opportunity to finance.
If it's related to your job, they will probably settle for it. I'd ask, the worst they can say is no.
It never hurts to ask. Especially because it is directly work-related to what you are doing, I find it concrete to believe that they wouldn't want you to go. If they do own issues with it, however, immediately drop the request and don't make a big concord about it. Perhaps if duplicate (or similar) seminar is available next year, they may be more unseal for you to attend then.
