First thing that comes to my mind is that you telephone the job and ask whether or not it is still available...I construe that would be the easiest and straight to the point solution. Then, if they say they havent hired anybody on the other hand, when you go to your subsequent interview (for the other job) and they decide to hire you, you speak to them politely that you are still waiting for another answer.
