Becoming a paramedic/EMT?

Question:
im really interested in this feild. i be wondering what type of person you have need of to be to handle a career like this. what does it pilfer?

Answers:
I retired from EMS a few years ago after 18 years of service. I loved the job but, my body in recent times gave out on me. As for what type of human being you need to be resourcefully....Quick thinking, caring and kind-hearted come to mind. Most states require you to be a EMT-B for two years before you become eligible to become a paramedic. Personalities can also depend on if your going to work at a private company are a county/911. Private services usually take-home pay more and have equal training but, 911 have the "exciting" call. I worked both for 8 years and enjoyed both. Good luck it is a great dash of work and helping people really make you feel dutiful. Good Luck!
It just take a person who care more for the other person more consequently yourself.
There are schools that guide only EMT classes. Start nearby for the first 2 years. If you like it, verbs on to paramedic.

Okay, location attire for American Eagle, please!?

Question:
Hi all, I get hired at American Eagle (I wore flip flops, button up shirt, and jeans to the interview). Should I continue to wear the following? Are flip flops okay? I'm certainly really serious about this. Orientation is tomorrow and I call for to know. Thank you!

Answers:
yes, definetly wear something similar to that. or something that you have bought from at hand.

a couple of my friends work at american eagle!

but button down, jeans, and flip-flops sound unblemished!
You should wear all Abercrombie & Fitch
For orientation/interviews, better to dress on the nontoxic side. Wear close toed shoes, nice jeans (no holes or frays) and a button shirt or a nice collared polo, and during orientation they will tolerate you know exactly what is and isnt ok to wear. You also want to make a virtuous first (second) impression. Trust me, I transport people on interviews everyday (I am within HR) and Im amazed how many population dont think since they get dressed for their first hours of daylight of work! Good question, and presently you know! Always overdress just a bit, and THEN see what the atmosphere/attitude/dress code is.

Answers:
Unfortunately, oodles of the forum members are not aware of what an employer is looking for when presented next to a "clerical data entry" resume by an aspiring applicant.

Keep the Objective, Qualifications and Education category. When you note contained by the Qualifications that your typing speed is 125 wpm, does that speed take into consideration typing numbers, such as contained by "statistical" typing or is that 125 wpm simply developed from typing from clear non-handwritten copy. And if you are faced next to using a transcription device, what's the most "accurate" typing speed? Again, it would be far more illuminating to indicate in the Qualification portion, the following typing speeds: (i) copy typing = 125 wpm; (ii) via transcription device = __ wpm; and (iii) statistical typing = ___ wpm.

Furthermore, be more specific on the actual term of various bureau software in which you are proficient, i.e., instead of "Word," would it be "Word 2003," and surrounded by the phrase "able to fax" - what's the model of the fax device, and when you "scan documents" - on what brand, model of scan device, etc. Providing detailed Qualifications is just one of lots indicators to your future employer that you are truly detail orient and will do well contained by typing with elevated accuracy, information entries if given the job opportunity.

Nevertheless, returning to the "Related Courses:" give out the Mass Media, Multi-Media I references, along near the reference to the brand of coupé you own. Again, those courses and the car mention are not relevant to the clerical data entry position.

In auxiliary, leave out any and adjectives Work Experience related to food service, since your employer doesn't need to know that you cleaned bathrooms and the resembling.

And finally, here's a special discussion on the proper format of your resume, with special prominence on the "scanability" factor.

Besides setting all margins to 1", the most critical criteria for setting up a professional resume besides relevant text, is "scanability." Here are some kind tips:

1. Place just below your credentials header [your hame, address, phone, email address] any Conditional Warning Statement such as "Confidential Resume,"Do Not Contact Current Employer," etc.
2. Always fill-in an Objectives category [just below the Conditional Warning Statement] and make sure that he Objective will contribute to the profitability of your adjectives employer;
3. Select a mono-type font such as Helvetica, Arial, Courier or Times Roman; do not select any cursive handwriting styles which cannot scanned;
4. Keep font sizes inwardly a range of 10 to 12 pts.;
5. Avoid styling essay with a proper alignment, keep it flushed not here;
6. Instead of using tabs to set up blocked manual entries, generate a table and use the column and row settings accordingly;
7. Do not place an i.d. picture anywhere on the resume, this is a foremost taboo due to discrimination issues;
8. Do not place any illustrative text [saved as .gifs] onto the resume since it may be overlooked during the scan phase;
9. List at the very winding up of the resume your interests which should include travel experiences, language skills, social interactions such as golf, squad sports, tennis, etc.

In conclusion, the above helpful hints be designed to allow ease of scan of your resume into PDF which can then be essay captured for seach purposes by your potential employer. Failure to conform the resume to appropriate fonts and styles as outlined above will result surrounded by rejection of the resume simply due to the inability of the scanning device to properly index relevant resume entries.

Good luck!

You dont hold to put every job you've ever have, especially ones that aren't applicable to what you're doing. When you put so many, it looks similar to you don't stay at a job for terrifically long.

Qualifications section
I would remove the word "namely".

"Accustomed to unwieldy telephone usage"? Well, you might want to reword that - someone could read that you approaching to make abundantly of personal calls.

I'm sure you are maintain HIGH quality while working below pressure.

Education section

a diploma of what concerned (High School, College, Technical School)

ok...highly wrought on your education..is that a giant school amount? college? where did you dance? what did you major on? GPA?
also, near your employment history, you have like mad there. and profoundly of it is irrelevent to what you want to ultimately do. you can eliminate the food service job and just vacate the first two jobs you enjoy listed. include surrounded by those job descriptions what skills you studious that would help you within the position you are applying for. for example, i'm a graphic designer, but i used to be a waitress. so on my resume, i have my waitressing experience and said something like "Earned several promotions by striving to realize the company's goal, and by offering modernized and friendly service to customers and co-workers alike"...something like that
relay them why you would suite this job and own a list of relatives called refrences that the employer can ring to confer about you. You stipulation your personal details such as phone number, adress etc
You could say available hours to work
Basically try and nouns up yourself, confident and say alot almost yourself.
Go on G00GLE they give you descriptions of resumes.

No, you don't need a cover memo. What about work and personal reference. ? Did you complete the mass media and multi medium courses.? Good Luck !
email me at cece7482932yahoo.com
ask yourself - reading the resume, would you hire a person that submitted that?

Cover correspondence explain why a attempt is being tried at adjectives in communication.

The resume should use a form that the company supplies to you.
Good luck to you.....
Here are my suggestions: you don't necessitate to omit the object. I think it's a great course to summarize your resume, gives your employer a better hypothesis of who you are. Consider describing the type of position: full/part - time?

Qualifications: consider re-wording
Knowledgeable with assorted Microsoft programs (list them here)
125 WPM --- no need to state hurriedly or accurate, the 125 is proof enough that it's efficient.
Fluent in English - words, both verbal and written
Accustomed to pouring telephone usage (state the number of phone lines you've answered)
Familiar next to fax, filing, printing and scan documents
Capable of working under pressure to draw together tight deadlines while also maintain the quality of my work.

In Education, state where on earth you obtained your diploma, and any degree you obtained would be nice to chronicle as well.

don't forget to register employment history, and maybe 3 or 4 short descriptions of what your position near that past employer consisted of. =)

Just bring it up beside your boss right away! A real BOSS, loves to discuss raise! I'm not joking... Make sure you get some good arguments wrinkled up for him... Best of luck!

the person beside the best answers/ advice will attain 10 points!
thanks for the aid! katie

(BTW i'm 17 if that matters)

Answers:
The other answerers were right. The first entity to do, is to relax, yet I transmit people that for a moment nervousness budge a long way.

I enjoy been within the Human Resources field for a massively long time. There is things to always remember surrounded by an interview. First of all, hang around to be offered a seat beforehand you sit or after your interviewer sits. Always give a strong paw shake at the beginning. Try to rein in sayings like "ommm" and "you know." Expect to bring up to date about your previous expereince. NEVER down another company, relate them of what you learned at hand that would be a benefit to the company that you are applying to. It never hurts to know a little almost the company that you are applying to. Like the year it was founded, how oodles are there, and who is the CEO. Eye contact is noteworthy. Remember you dress. For an interview at starbucks, you should go next to a solid color skirt or slacks and a button up shirt with low heels.

Be prepared to share about your arts school history, future aspirations and such. There are two question that almost all interviewers ask. Tell me something almost yourself? Also Why would you be the best candidate for this assignment? When you tell them something more or less yourself, tell roughly speaking your endearing merits, your honesty, customer service skills, promptness, things of that nature. Toot your own horn Try to throw contained by there your capability to deal beside difficult customers and how you do it. When you tell them why you are the best contestant, tell them going on for previous experience and remind them of the endearing intrinsic worth again. I have interviewed closely of candidates within my history. I would not be afraid to say hundreds. here are a few question that I ask.

1) Why do you feel that you are the best human being for this job?
2)How do you operate with stress surrounded by the workplace?
3) Tell me about your previous chore experience?
4) Tell me about any time lapse in conservatory and job experience?
5) Where do you see yourself within 10 years?(Best answer is CEO of Starbucks, this shows that you are want to be a vested employee and you enjoy ambition)
6) How do you deal beside a difficult customer?
7)If you could be doing anything that you wanted right in a minute as far as professional, what would it be?(Best answer is working in the customer service pen because of your love for working with the public)

I yearning you all the best.

**So sorry for any typos or misspellings, I am within a rush***
Just relax and answer their questions honestly. You enjoy past experience so you know how to bar customers and their demands - Not to worry.
Visit a different Starbucks. Bring a weekly and pencil, and write down the different kinds of coffee.

Go to tthe Internet and reserach how to fashion them.

On the interview, wear a nice blouse and skirt and moderate makeup.

Act friendly. Starbucks is a customer service industry.

Ask a question just about one of the coffees you reserached.

Good luck.
Relax. Be yourself. Dress nicely, conservatively. Maybe a polo shirt and kakhi slacks.

They will ask question like: What helpful of work have you done past? Do you like working at a coffee shop? Why? Are you of a mind to close the shop four nights a week? How masses hours do you want to work per week? Do you ever get annoyed at the customers, and what do you do something like it? Do you know the difference between tall and grande? Etc.

Good luck. I'm sure it will be effortless for you. Be friendly and nice to the people you settle to.
smile
Wear dress casual., be yourself and be honest. I know that interviews are impressively nerve racking but you will be OK. BTW I hear that working at Starbucks is a good entry. I have hear they have great benefits. Try not to be fearful and you will be OK.What will you be making, when is payday? How long do I have to work here for benefits.

GOOD LUCK!
Wear something nice such as a button up shirt and duo of slacks. Don't go over the end with a dress or anything. Make sure your spine is neatly combed and don't wear any distracting jewelry, paraphernalia, etc. Greet the owner with a smile and a obedient handshake (not too anodyne, not too strong). A handshake tell a lot to populace. Sit up straight and speak at a regular pace and everyday volume. Make sure that you actually do speak because they want a people-person. Don't ask too plentiful questions but possibly you can throw some in in the region of coffee since you worked at a coffee shop (experience points). The biggest thing I can suggest is to convey to the owner that you REALLY want to work in that. Be excited about it!
wear casuel but professional, take your self as a confadent young woman sit up straight, talk directley to him manufacture eye contact him tell him you can transport out your duties that he asks of his enployees frist you ask what are the wages and hours and what he expects of you, be straght and forward what you exspect of him as your inployer.be honest
wear something classy but not too formal, maybe some dress slacks and a nice blouse. remember to be yourself. look them within the eye and communicate with them. if you are sincere, you own a more likely fortune to receive the job.

Summer give a hand in the Fiscal Department of the Secretary of State's Office. The summer assist can request a certain department, but you don't other get it, and I be placed in a department I be clearly NOT suited for and hated it. My salvations be helping the HR people, which I loved, and the certainty that it was a pro tem position that paid better than rapid food.
Telemarketing, I lasted 3 days. We have to raise our paw to go to the restroom close to we were university kids.
Short order cook, at most minuscule that was what they said when they hired me. It turned out that it be diswasher, waitress, cook, cleaner and all, plus I have to open within the morning, split the shift and close at night. That position truly stank. Oh yeah, because it was mostly fetch out, no tips either.
Very little can compete next to the job I have on board this really shitty trawler from the 60ths... This banter of a ship was vile.. The ventilation system on the train were so rusty that we didn't go and get oxygen to our cabins... I found myself wake up from nightmares and pure panic attacks totally on the brink past its sell-by date suffocation due to this a number of times... You can with the sole purpose imagine what shape the rest of this ship be in... Not exactly premium conditions if I may read aloud so...
Working at Carlton Hospitality Services in Houston, TX as a staffing consultant be by far the worst 9 months of my life. Tons of work for little wage and the manager (Julie Eisen) be a total B.itch and bi-polar! I was constantly have to apologize for her rudeness and shortness to our waitstaff and clients. Instead of apologizing to them I wanted to influence "hey you think shes rude to you on the phone...you should try working surrounded by the office near her 40+ hours a week...shes a nut-case" She would make up lies in the region of me and my co-workers to the corperate office to cover her own a.ss and her poor working as a manager. Eventaully her boss saw through that because something like a month before I quit they fired her. :-)

Writing application form to guarantee a career??

Question:
help!! im desperate for a assignment!!

i have a few application forms to paw in.
do u hold any ideas for what i can write within the interests and hobbies box that will make me nouns more interesting and suitable for the job role?

also what can i write surrounded by the additional information box??

i've never worked beforehand so i've never really needed to write an application form, any suggestions would be great.

ooh im applying for a check-outs job.

gratitude.

Answers:
Am not an expert in opening applications but atleast I have successfully applied since, for a job.

I believe the interest and hobbies fragment is intended to show the prospective employer whether you are an exposed candidate surrounded by terms of off-job and private life span. It gives an insight into your nature, something that most probably influences your success at a available job.

I tend to believe that if you skipped that section, the employer would predict that you are a "social bore", not a team player, and roughly not exposed to life issues. Therefore please put something.

Definitely everyone have an interest / hobby. Only that at times we fail to identify it. And because we own many hobies and interests, it is easier when you are applying for a specific commission, know what the employer's values and interest are, so that you pick out yours that are relevant to the job.

Thi can be for example; human rights issues, hose down and sanitation projects, children support programs, tour and travel, etc.

Good luck in your chore search
In the interests and hobbies nouns list said interests and hobbies.

Additional info box is for things that aren't covered on the app but might back you to be a better candidate.

Seeing as you've never worked earlier there isn't much you can do to engender yourself a better candidate unless you not tell the truth on the form. Not recommended though as they will catch you out when you can't act as you said you could or when they check your references.
I'd recommend writing anything that will detail your prospective employer that you work well next to people. In any mission, I think that's the most momentous skill you can have.

In optional extra, you could detail your responsibility and write items down that will show your dedication and perseverance (like achieve goals or struggles to accomplish goals).
Retail application should not be that hard. For hobbies basically honestly write down your hobbies. try not to write too many though as that they might expect your hobbies would prevent you from being steadfast to the job.

Additional information is anything not included contained by the application which you think might relate to that particular role.
In your interests and hobbies the switch is to twist around the everyday things you do to construct you sound interesting. For example verbs a boring phrase into an excitable, employable phrase...

Boring phrase: I've been on holiday to Ireland, Scotland and Germany.
Exciting phrase: I savour travelling to new places, some of the countries I hold visited are Ireland, Scotland and Germany.

Boring Phrase: I similar to shopping and clothes.
Exciting Phrase: I have a raring to go interest in the whim industry and like to design clothes and invent bright styles.

Boring Phrase: I like sagging out with my mate.
Exciting Phrase: I enjoy spending time near friends and socialising over a few drinks.

Boring Phrase: I like reading and writing.
Exciting Phrase: I've written several poems and stories and get inspiration from authors such as (put a couple of volatile authors in here)

Also I usually bestow additional info blank, if they haven't asked you nearly your personality contained by the application form I usually include this here. For example, how your personality would be an asset to the chore...

i.e. I have a friendly and approachable attitude which would be a benefit to customers as they would feel comfortable asking for aid. I'm hard-working and dilligent and other go the extra mile to serve.

Why can't i bring a profession?

I'm going to have to agree next to the other posters that posted before me. They hold all suitable information for you. Being pretty, smart and a nice person isnt going to 'cut the mustard'. You're going to enjoy to show them that you can do the job. The other individual interviewing you doesnt know you from the next guy. You inevitability to stand out from the others, communicate to them that you can do the job. Confidence is a justice! Good luck!
On an application NEVER reveal anything that can hurt you. such as being FIRED, too heaps months in between companies and even if you stipulation a friend to answer the phone and say they are your supervisor or boss DO IT. NEVER slump meaning never vote you have skills you don't , but NEVER reveal anything that can hurt you. If your Bosses or Owners of those campanies revealed everything around them selves back contained by the days they started they would have never be owners or TOP Managers. You involve more than being pretty, nice and smart to attain a job. There are masses people that are pretty, nice, and smart. Hate to break it to you, but you are not the individual one that meets that description. See it from the business close. Do you want pretty, smart, and nice to work for you or someone that will bring in the money and be productive. When a business depends on sale or production, they want someone that can do the job.

You call for to work on selling your self on the interview. They need to believe that you are the soul for the job, that you bring something that they could use or would benefit them. What type of opening are you looking for?? Why do you think that you inferior the interviews. There are many sights online that comfort on improving your interviewing skills and how to put up for sale yourself. Good luck.
I got 2 opportunity offers from 14 interviews when I started, but enjoy since done ok.

Persevere. Contrary to the cliche, first impressions are often wrong. It could be your character type or confidence are issues. (Sadly recruiters often conscript in their own image-on gut feel).

In the long your level will shine.

Being pretty, smart and nice is more than most can ask ;-)
Dear Sad Girl,

The fact that you are pretty and nice not necessarily contained by that order are things that won't gain you a job. You should NOT have a feeling like a loser. The open market (despite our Government proclaiming otherwise) is very doomed to failure right now. I enjoy been out of work for four months myself. I know MANY people out of work. Many of the job are snapped up by people style over qualified. What you should do is find something that you love and pursue a position doing that. Lets say you love clothes, after try and find a job selling clothes. Start your own little business cleaning or mowing peoples yard or something along those lines. Find out what professionals charge for their services and then charge something comparable for the service. Good Luck! You are a WINNER and if you project that it will assist!
Girl friend, if you are pretty, nice and smart, then why on soil are you sad? And beside those qualities, no path in hell are you a loser. Push the certainty that you are willing to do what it take, and are a quick learner. And since you own those 3 natural unbeaten qualities, wear them next to pride and confidence!

Right now it is tough to gain a job. Companies are so concerned next to the bottom line that they are lay off relatives as an immediate drop within expenses. A lot of jobs of mortal sent to other countries where the job are done cheaper. It isn't just you.

You did not "fail" the opening interviews, it just wasn't a accurate match. Job interviews are not a elapse fail issue. Sometimes the nicest personality applies, but they do not have what the employer is looking for. It is approaching dating you can go out beside the best looking man who drives a Corvette and has lots of money, but in attendance is just not contest -- so do not look at it as failing.

My suggestion is that you keep trying. Each time you interview you are acquirement experience in what an employer is looking for contained by the interview. Look at the type of job you are interested contained by -- ask yourself what can I bring to that job and consequently sell yourself surrounded by the interview. Maybe you should consider trying for another type of job? Either route not being standard on only 2 interviews is nil to worry roughly speaking. Many of us have gone on lots more than 2 interviews since we found the perfect livelihood. Good luck.
