Anesthesiology is also the individual one out of those you mentioned that will afford you the opportunity to stick needles in those. You just can't pummel the thrill of a good spinal anesthetic! (Sorry, I am SUCH an anesthesia geek!)

The norm is probably for every 10 resumes you submit you may capture one or two calls put money on. Keep it up and you will eventually get something.

You may also be fishing in a barren pond, so to speak. Monster.com sucks as a career resource, unless you're in a few dictatorial fields. Craigslist can be a touch better depending on who you'd like to work for. A state-run work database (ask the unemployment office!) is the best by far, plus free of cost and free of scams.
