The problem is if you quit your job, later the dss may not let you claim benefits, because you moved out your job voluntary, it happen to me my partner moved in near me in september formerly she moved in she be on incap but when she moved in near me she was put on income support and its medium tested so every penny i earnt was taken sour her benefits and as i was merely working 16hrs a week it wasnt worth my while working. We got penalised because we be living together. We could have made seperate claims as single individuals but as we live together in a 1 bed flat it might be stretching the point.
(a) stop working for nowt
(b) sue them for money owed to you

Career confusion soon to be a senior.?

Question:
High school seem to be passing at full tilt, I'm already going to be a junior in highschool. And I am reasonably confused on what it is that I really want to be, I'm really focused on Photography but after researching pros and cons, being a photographer may not be the best choice although it's my prevalent hobby.

I'm interested in ( Photography,Modeling and Psychology)
But don't know where on earth to begin, I want a profession that will pay fitting and something i will be focus on,
I'm good at computers but gruesome at math.

it can be something aside from the three top things i've mention any ideas on what i should do this is worrying me like mad.

Please don't tell me to have a chat to my parents, that's not going to work i've tried various of times and i don't attain a good respond.

Thank you =D

Answers:
A word of counsel that was relayed to me.

It's easier to numeral out what you don't want to do instead of trying to figure out what you do want to do. You will be surprised how things win narrowed down.
Once you get things narrowed down a bit, try to tailor your background toward keeping your options expand (as much as possible).
be what ever you want to be in your heart of heart
You could be a web graphics designer. :) I work surrounded by Distance Learning and we are always looking for clear artists that have experience next to Flash. With your artistic eye and love of computers, you'd be a natural! :)

Good luck! :)

Well, to be honest you enjoy time. Your first year in college (if you prefer to go) is going to be full of general ed classes anyway. You typcially won't start taking classes for your trunk until your sophomore year. Worry about finishing giant school first afterwards once you get to college you'll integer it out.
The best thing for you to do is stir to a Liberal Arts college so you could explore what different majors could do. School is expensive but you can work, get financial aid and rob out loans.

The University of Minnesota Morris is affordable and challenging.
i am 25 and i still don't really know what i want to do, so i a short time ago end up going put money on to college. just walk to college and maybe you will digit something out. but dont feel unpromising a lot of nation are feeling impossible to tell apart thing.
travel to your high conservatory guidance office and ask roughly taking an aptitude test. my daughter took one at the local community college. it will comfort you learn what you would be best at.
don't stress over it. i didn't know what i looked-for to do until just back i graduated (seriously similar to 3 months before). now i'm 19, i work full time as a billing and accounting clerk, and i am a certified polish therapist (what i go to school for). in attendance is a lot out at hand to do... find something you are interested in and research it.
I'm 22, and I've changed majors 3 times. Don't be aware of like you HAVE to own your life adjectives planned at 18. Start college as an undecided principal, and use your extra classes to try new things. You own 2 years of general studies until you start near the in depth classes anyway. Even after that, adjectives you need is a paddock of study, not a full on career choice.

For example, bear an extra class in Photography or Acting 101, and see if you resembling what you do there.

Also, try bright things outside of school. Talk to the populace doing the jobs you estimate about. Call their office and ask if you can meet beside them for questions just about what their job consists of (I did this near a few film maker when I started college).
Sondra has some honest ideas for you, especially trying to look in with general public who actually do what you might be interested surrounded by as a career. I would step one step further and see if they would be willing to permit you actually follow them around for a year.

One other thing someone once told me you may also want to mull over about. Choose a commission that you love to do. If you love to do something, then you will be worthy at it. And, if you are good at it, you can other find someone who will be willing to wage you for it. (Plus, you will be a lot happier working at something you love.)

Good luck!
try a trade counselor at a community college. They are trained to help you and impart you tests and such.

Should someone next to a MS grasp a duty as an executive assistant or will they other chew over of you as a secretary?

Question:
I have a MS within science but have be working in another pasture for years, would it be a good belief to take a duty as an executive administrative assistant (assistant to the president) of a science related company? Could it lead to an executive livelihood later or will they credible always focus of their assistant as just a secretary? Also, would it be comfortable to go from executive assistant at one company to be an executive at another company or does it purely look like office experience on a resume?

Answers:
I'm sorry hon but an Executive Administrative Assistant is just a fancy title for Secretary. It could organize to an executive position if there's room for growth but you will always be considered the former "secretary" if it's beside the same company. Executive Administrative Assistants are glorified secretaries. Since you own a Masters degree, you should be capable of pursue other areas of work.
Don't let the title fool you. Responsibility get you noticed. Be selective contained by the Exec Asst jobs you apply to, and jump with self-iniative and professional aspiration setting high on your inventory.

Make sure you aren't being hired to replace a receptionist or secretary. Seek positions next to corporate responsibility, responsive directors and a 21st century mission statement.

Promote yourself as well-educated, capable and worthy of any title. Be prepared to embezzle opportunity within the company to move up...

Good luck...
I permitted a similar position for which I am over qualified but it has be wonderful. I do make executive height decisions and am accepted for it, have input and control over policy formation and I do find it peculiar to go from one extreme to next performing trivial administrative stuff. Working with the right entity and in the right company I ruminate you can parlay it into a much better position.

My opinon though is that it would be difficult to go from an Exec Asst title to an executive at another firm. Although you may be doing the work it is easier said than done for a potential new employer to know how much of the creative work you are doing compared to how much of the admin work you are. If you beleive within is growth WITHIN the company you are looking at the position at then you should consider it.

What are pros and cons of working near or as?

Question:
1. working with sports prescription
2. being a legal representative
3. being a missionary

these are a few things that interest me and would similar to anyone to comment or suggest anything...i don't know whatever you wanna speak about it =]

Answers:
I can't speak in the region of Sports Medicine exactly - but I did consider becoming a Physical Therapist (They work with Sports Doctors) It sounded intensely interesting and lucrative. The only plea I didn't pursue it was it be a 6 year degree.

Lawyers - besides one the butt of jokes - are a well brought-up profession. Usually you specialize in one nouns and again there is extra schooling.

Missionary work is awfully much a calling. You never make like mad of money, but the work is rewarding (and exhausting) You may go to several places, depending on your church.

Considerations - you might try seeing if you can take an assessment audition to help reveal your interests.

Final thought - you can walk into one of these fields FOR NOW and afterwards change then, depending on where you are within your life. Many infantile men do missionary work while they are young, not looking to start a family connections & etc, and then subsequent go into a profession. That might work for you.

Best of luck!
I didnt receive the question
1. working next to sports medicine

Big money, I tight big, big money in the craft. Personally, I do not think you hold to be that successful in establish to make closely of money.

2. being a advocate

Sure, if you have no moral center and you can sleep resourcefully at night when knowing you set a criminal free or put an innocent soul in intern. Also, big money can be made in this occupation, but you have to be smart (above average smart) ;)

3. man a missionary

That depends on if you are trying to save relations or scam them. If it's prior, then at smallest it is something you believed in. You will grasp great joy from your work, but probably no money. If it's after that, then again big money but you might not know how to sleep at night unless you are a attorney. :)

Good Luck!
I went to college right out of giant school and get my ahtletic training degree. Didn't work out for me individually so well...I didn't want to work surrounded by a clinic (where patients may range from geriatirics to infantile children, not the type of people I needed to work with); if you work at the college or professional level, you're putting within between 60-80 hours a week, usually, during the season, and at least 6-8 hours a light of day, 6 days a week out of season; and in the nouns where I live, no big schools would hire merely an athletic trainer without you also have a teaching liscence.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from going contained by that direction, it just didn't work for me--I couldn't devote the time to working at the professional/college height, didn't have the quallifications to work at the soaring shcool level, and didn't close to working with (primarily) unmotivated hip and knees replacements at the clinics I interviewed/worked at. It just didn't fit me and my person. It's a pretty well paying position, there's pretty good mission security, and there's other openings, depending whether or not you want to move around the country. If you achieve on with a college program or professional troop, it's a great way to travel around the country.

Resume...Objective Important anymore?

Question:
I'm applying for some summer work jobs approaching for a bank bank clerk or store clerk, but on my resume I find it difficult to come up with an target for these jobs. Is an ambition really common anymore for these types of job?

Answers:
Here you go, answers to your question regarding the resume occupation objective:

http://www.cvtips.com/resume_career_obje...

Also, don't look for something standard, an objective which can be used no situation what. It is very vital to tailor your CV objective to the specific of the opening you are applying for. In this way you prove you're interested and you hold what it takes.

Good luck!
It is moral to show an objective. I other reviewed them when reading a resume of an applicant. I have never interviewed anyone who didn't pilfer the time to prepare one.
People will argue that an objective is unnecessary now. I'd argue otherwise. I think an object shows you can be detail-oriented while also being specific to what you're seeking so employer don't have to play a guessing winter sport.

For an objective near a bank, try something close to this:

"Seeking a teller position where on earth I can use strong customer service and cash handling skills surrounded by a team environment."

In one sentence, you've outlined two top skills and your commitment to group effort.

Good luck to you!

3. Select a mono-type font such as Helvetica, Arial, Courier or Times Roman; do not select any cursive handwriting styles which cannot scanned;
4. Keep font sizes inwardly a range of 10 to 12 pts.;

Which career/job hunting sites are the best?

Question:
I live in Michigan and hold been out of work since April. The economy is suffering here, and it is difficult finding something. I am using Careerbuilder and Monster, but it isn't ample. Are there any other sites that may be beneficial? I own tried Hotjobs before, but it seem their concentration is on "Work from Home" opportunities or staffing agencies. I am a trade professional in Sales Administration. I could really use some aid. Any advice or feedback would be much appreciated!

Answers:
Snagajob.com is another site that you could budge to...Most of the professional jobs don't do a large amount of advertising their career on job finder sites. They are advanced adequate to have their own websites and hiring manager. I suggest looking at company websites. Go for some of the fortune 500s, especially if you may be planning on moving. They have locations everywhere and you're bound to find something. Also, associates who identify companies that they want to work for and take a call in ther/network are really successful at finding jobs.
Try usajobs.gov these are elected representatives jobs. Quicken loans is also base out od Detroit try their website. Also I work for First American Title and they are all over the us try firstam.com.

Take it to a temp agency (I love to abuse these people) and "register" and ask for resume tips (I never relay them I'm using them!)

In my area we hold a federally funded program called One Stop Career Center or Workforce. If you can find one within your area they are massively helpful. Their workforce are trained to assist in resume writing. Good luck!

How can i convince my boss i want someone to work near me?

Question:
In my deparment, human resources, its only me and my boss, but the day-to-day brief is only made by me, create she only supervise me and approve things, i get this huge project about reading since the begining of this year, and i havent been competent to finish it cause everytime im getting focus on it, sometimes shows up. This is a small company, around 35 personnel, but they are very demanding since very soon its the first time they feel someone listen to them and meticulousness... once i tried to tell her, but she be closed to the idea, i really entail someone like a student making an internship till i obtain to be ontime with my duties, otherwise my narration will go down... I involve to know what to say,,, PLease lend a hand!

Answers:
Jalina,

You would have better luck prioritizing your commission and keeping those other 33 employees thrilled without taking adjectives of your time. Could you develop a handbook, intranet site or newsletter that compiles most of the Q&A you are bombarded next to everyday?

This would show not only initiative contained by resolving the issues with your planner, but would greatly eliminate your obverse time with the human resources asking the same question. With a staff of only 35, they don't own the funds to hire an intern unless it is for an unpaid position. That would be a possibility if there is a proximate college in your nouns, and an argument in your favor. A makeshift may also be needed, but set aside most of the day for projects you necessitate to focus on and learn to vote no, or I will get spinal column to you at this time/date.
This could be a simple issue of time management. Schedule a time of year of time where you won't be interrupted by outside influences respectively week till the project is complete. With a company that small another employee surrounded by HR is not warranted.
Ask her if you could hold and extern that is a human being that does all the work for free. See if that help. She might not want to pay someone else.

Is 14 too youthful to be ambitious to work?

Question:
My son who is 14 wants to work to lift money for his new saloon.
I know he needs working papers, but are in attendance any establishments out there that will in actual fact hire him?
North Carolina area.

Answers:
Wow! Mom - you should be proud of your son! That's fantastic - you own instilled some great values into the boy!

I don't live in the NC nouns but I would be willing to bet someone would be of a mind to hire him. Especially like the previous poster indicated - the grocery stores.

He could also check summer camp - they might hire him as well.

There should be some place he can work.

Good luck!
no i dont construe so! yet try grocery stores for baggers i know kroger starts pretty babyish! Also try doing different odd job for neighbors! dog sitting, mowing lawn, wash cars, babysitting, tutoring ect! Also try working at a summer camp,as a peer person in command! kudo's to your son for being a strong worker!
In my opinion, 14 is defintiely NOT too babyish to work! I began working when I be 12. I started out babysitting to earn money to buy the clothes that I wanted. My Mom's impression of clothes for me was not one and the same as mine. Of course, times are different than back after, but my daughter started working at a restaraunt when she was 14. She wash dishes. I personally reason it's very honourable for kids to learn work conduct early within life. You may hold him try restaraunts or grocery stores for a job. Some grocery chains hire infantile people to purse groceries.
If you know any independent tradesmen(carpenter, landscaper, mechanic) see if they may need some relief this summer. Someone who works by themselves or with a aide can often use a appendage. The money your son could earn will be probably better than bagging groceries and your son will cram skills that will undoubtedly help him within the future.
Newspaper abdication
Mowing lawns
Yard work
Babysitting
Petsitting
Shoveling walks contained by winter
Walking dogs
Wash cars
How about the ripened paper route? Yard maintence? Watching Kids? Washing car's?

What's the diff between a pharmaceutical and a medical sale rep?

Question:

Answers:
Pharmaceutical reps generally call upon on doctors and sell them medicine. This will be like the prescription meds you see contained by TV ads.

Medical sale reps sell a huge collection of products. It can be equipment needed for doctors offices, surgery tools, prosthetics, etc.

Both can be lucrative positions to own, but keep within mind this industry is extremely competitive. This competition is not only to get hold of the job, but to hold on to it as well.
pharmaceutical is pretty much singular meds

medical includes equipment, supplies, etc
Huge.

Pharma reps are an art in themselves. They're not expected to take in pharmacology behind the drugs they push. They are the best writing readers on the block and collect question that may come up. They need to look dutiful all the time. The best pharma rep I ever met be an Art major within a small town college. Basically, you need to make a contribution a doctor a good time, next happen to mention the drug label. When I say worthy time, sky's the limit...

Medical sale reps need to grasp a little science contained by the stuff they push. Imaging reps must understand X-rays rudiments and history of X-ray equipment. You get the gist. Looking honest isn't as important as sounding righteous - so you have to know plenty of the business to make it come about.
"atg" is an idiot. "sky's the limit" WTH?

boo too got it right.

Referrals are a flawless way to dance.

But, if you don't think that will work for you, start network outside of your current field. Go to Business Associations, Toastmasters, any piece that will put you in front of other empire & tell them what you are interested within doing. LinkedIn seems to be a biddable online resource.

Two years in one enclosed space isn't long enough to "pigeon-hole" you, but you may enjoy to take a small step backwards to know how to change directions. Be ready to consider that.

You may also reach stern to your school - see if the profession center or alumni office can aid connect you.

Best of luck!
It's tough to make a work change. I am within the same boat as you right in a minute. Because once you are in one industry, adjectives your experience are related to that industry and sadly that's what individuals will think of you. You may involve to go rear to school carry yourself another diploma or certificate of the business you would close to to get yourself into.
