Interview Question?
Question:
i went within for a "skills test" last week and I apparently misunderstood and thought I have an interview the same daylight.
Turns out I wouldnt have an interview until i passed my skills interview, (which i did) and i have be called to dance back contained by tomorrow morning.
My problem is: I wore a suit for the skills test, which be a total waste of clothes! I saw the woman I would be interviewing with for literally 1 minute, so I'm not sure if she notice what I was wearing. Everyone else who go in for the skills assessment was dressed (business) indifferently.
Can I wear the same suit again (I simply have this one i use for interviews) or can I wear a nice white shirt near black dress slacks?
Thanks!!
Answers:
Always wear a suit for an interview. Can you just translation the shirt you wore and maybe some different shoes and/or paraphernalia? I'm sure nobody would notice like suit and if they did, so what. You need to look as professional and polished as possible. The reality that you wore a suit originally might even help your grip because it showed how prepared you were. Wear the suit again.
Wear the suit again. The certainty that it's the same suit will move about unnoticed, but your attention to detail and to your image will bring back you the positive attention you want.
i wouldn't wear the samething, if she did happen to make out who knows what she may devise.
I would wear the suit again - if possible next to a slightly different set of accessories (different blouse, different jewelry, or anything. It is clearly the nicest thing you hold, and interviewers, unless they have photographic memories, don't remember exactly what someone wore - a short time ago to what level they be dressed. A suit says something in the region of professionalism that a blouse or shirt and slacks don't. They are kind of the gold ingots standard, especially in the business world.
I disagree near the person who asked what she would muse. What she will think is most imagined that you cared satisfactory to come in your best outfit both times. That is not doomed to failure.
Wear the suit again. If she does remember, that's a good entity, as you made an impression, and more than predictable, she won't remmber why she remembers you, just that she does.
No severance for a laid-off hand?
Question:
I've worked for a fairly big company for more than five years. Sometimes I be fulltime and other I was partime. I have an hourly wage. They decided to shut down the organization I worked at and gave 2 weeks concentration to everyone.
I was not offered any severance of any munificent.
First:
Is a company obligated to pay severance?
Second:
Do I hold any legal rights to be remunerated something?
Answers:
Severance pay is usually offered to capture volunteers for lay offs. Since they shut down they did not have to pick and choose.
You are disqualified to sick time pay contained by CA, I don't know about elsewhere. You are entitled to any leave time you did not use.
You are also entitled to collect unemployment while seeking a tentative position.
Check your employment contract and yoru employee tourist information. The company is required to compensate you for any paid time stale (vacation and sick time) you accumulated, but unless they explicitly mention it surrounded by their handbook they are not required to compensate you severance.
Head for the unemployment department, that's the only severance you're going to go and get.
I am not sure about every state, but within AZ it is a right to work state. That means you are disallowed to severance unless it was surrounded by your original contract. They are not even obligated to hand over you two weeks notice.
Here is a connection to the department of labors page on serverance.
http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/wages/sever...
They are not required to pay you any severance, but you can collect laying-off until you find a new undertaking or your unemployment runs out.
No and no.
Companies are not required to rate severance to employees due to a location closing. The merely requirement that the government have is if a certain percentage of the workforce is artificial (WARN Act) there is a requirement of how long a identify they have to bestow you.
Depending on the state you work in most states require that any earn but unused vacation time must be rewarded out to the employee.
No. Unfortunately a severance payout is not justifiably required. The WARN ACT as a previous poster wrote would only apply to you if you worked at a "qualified plant" and "mass lay-off's" Under this Act the plant is one and only required to give credit notice of the lay-offs to in that employees a minimum of 60 days contained by advance. There must also be at minimum 100 organization and a number of other factor. Any accumulated sick time, break, etc... would have to be rewarded out to you and your co-workers.

Almost adjectives of the envelope stuffing jobs out here are scams. In reality almost all of the JOB's online are scam. Either they are outright scams or they claim to foot a whole lot more than they really do. Just do your research thoroughly past investing any money, and don't give up, you will find your answer!
I know how frustrating it can be looking for work from home. I be looking for work from home for about 3 years beforehand I found the right company. I tried the paid to read survey’s (no you don’t ever bring back the $25 one’s your lucky if you get one for $5). I tried remunerated to read emails, $.10 here $.05 here, I was lucky if I made $.50 a daylight. So then I tried working for a ring center from home. That was better than the rest; at smallest I was making $3 or 4 an hour. Eventually though, I get fed up next to that. I mean come on; I’m worth more than that. Not to mention you cannot live within Jersey on $3 an hour.
As you can tell looking for 3 years, I’m pretty stubborn, I wasn’t roughly to give up on my rummage, but I also wasn’t about to throw my knotty earned money away on some scam. I know there be something out there that would tolerate me make what I’m worth and grant me the freedom to stay home and make my own agenda. So finally, after 3 years I stumbled upon my answer in a work at home forum. I researched the company for in the order of 3 months, asked tons of questions on the forums, did G00GLE search checked with the Chamber of Commerce and finally granted to jump within. I found out that this company was a branch of the Chamber of Commerce, Dun and Bradstreet, and the National Association of Dental Plans. They had be featured within The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Business Journal, The New York Times, several home business magazines and Morley Safer from 60 minutes did a special on them. Plus they have the smallest investment out there and I don’t hold to sell products or hold home parties or do cold calling or telemarketing. So presently I’m working from home about 10 to 15 hours a week and I couldn’t be happier. I’m making around a $1000 a month right now, but the great point is that each month my paychecks achieve bigger and bigger, because I keep getting rewarded month after month, for work I did in the previous months. But what really get me excited to get up within the morning is knowing that I’m building a great future for myself and my fiancée, so that when I enjoy children in a few years, I won’t enjoy to worry in the region of money (I’m on track to be making about $100,000 a year contained by 2 to 3 years, which is when I would like to start have kids), and I won’t have to verbs about taking parenthood leave, or asking anyone’s authorization to take time past its sell-by date, or have anyone else raise my children.
Anyway, sorry for rambling, I simply wanted to put this out nearby for anyone who is thinking about giving up on in that dream to work from home. Please don’t give up, you will find your opportunity!
Lauren W.
If its legally recognized then surely yes
Will I still be hired?
Question:
Hello, I'm applying at cumberland farms and they asked for a copy of my military discharge, or dd214. My boss said he doesn't know if they'll obligation it or not but I should get it anyway...I get kicked out because of depression and "bipolar disorder", and I don't really want my employer to know... What do I do? Now I'm afraid I won't be hired.
Answers:
Check with your local workforce center and see if they hold a Disability Program Navigator-if so, make an appointment next to them-they have tons of apt information on the Americans with Disabilities Act, how to interview, when to disclose or not disclose, etc etc. If in that isn't one near you, check the website:
I found some more apt info: http://www.dol.gov/odep/pubs/fact/ydw.ht...
Well, if one asks about your dd214, later likely other employer will ask you to provide equal thing. I am not sure if this a standard requirement. My suggestion to you is do not disclose this information until you found you that you have to. You can try to contact governing body human resource office for more information and ask them whether or not you should disclose this information.
You are going to enjoy to explain yourself. Be honest, "I was suffering from depression" I own taken care of that and am fine. Most employer would understand I come up with.
Yahoo had a great tip for skeleton's within your closet. Get them a copy. Don't stress. They'll likely phone call you in for an interview, and here's what you do, according to the experts.
You transmit them straight up.
It's good to come together you. I've read about your company, and I know I'll be paid a great addition to the troop, if hired, but there's something I'd like you to know, first. You'll consideration that I was discharged from the military because of depression. I want you to know that I've have medical treatment/or whatever the covering may be, and that it's no longer a factor for me, as illustrated within the job I took after, etc. (Whatever the story is, be truthful and upfront)
This route, it puts you always on the coarse. You get it out first, consequently the interviewer won't be thinking about it the intact time, and can focus on your more positive aspects. If you try to hope they won't see it, then you will be on the caring, explaining yourself. The interview will be negative, and you may not find the job.
If you don't transport it at all, later they will likely not even bid you for an interview. Tell them straight up, be honest, sincere, and you'll get greatly of respect for that. Good luck!
You will be!

Women at Work: Credibility issues near males contained by same and high position?
Question:
If you make a mistake surrounded by a male-dominated workplace, you seem to lose primary credibility for a long time. Girls/women: how do you regain your credibility when you lose it on the job?
For instance, I've see a slacker male colleague product a mistake and the male and feminine bosses pat him on the back and speak "that's alright." I saw a conscientious female grilled to the nth level for making a similar mistake today, and everyone checked behind her the rest of the daytime! My female colleague and I get on this subject and we are curious as to what others think, and if you own experienced the same circumstances, and what you did nearly it. Thanks for your answers.
Answers:
There are two ways to avoid this.
1. Don't make mistakes.
2. Don't produce mistakes.
As a female contained by a male dominated workplace, you enjoy no choice. In order to be considered as angelic, you have to be twice as perfect. Know your job inside and out and don't produce mistakes.
I don't mean never crinkle, because of course, to be exact going to happen. But don't gross mistakes you can't fix. There's a saying contained by my company, "We're Operations, we don't make mistakes". Every single Operations governor will tell you that's complete crap. I fold every single day. But near is not a man in my store that see me do it.
I don't know if that makes sense or not.
I haven't ever lost my credibility, even when making a mistake. I work harder than any one else, I work long hours commonly, I literally have a 'whatever it takes' attitude. That money I will lug boxes in the warehouse w. the warehouse crew of late as fast as I will be on the sale floor. You have to emergency respect and earn it by being the best directly, in direct to maintain credibility.
Set a desire. Follow through with everything. If you do those things every morning, when you do make a small mistake, you don't lose credibility and likelihood are, no-one will notice.
Hey, I be a male secretary for almost 3 years, and whenever I made a mistake it be amplified x1,000. So it's not just women.
