After submitting an application. How long does it take for you to lurk and get the post? I have submitted an application at Big 5 two days ago and the executive said he would call me and i haven't received any phone call to any stores i have submitted an application. I really want a job vigorous and i cant wait any longer; i seriously requirement to work now. I am so bored and i have need of money (to pay for braces). btw im lone 18 years old near no experience and this would be my first job. gratitude!

After submitting an application it can take anywhere from 1 time to weeks or months to get a beckon back. The reality that you have not have a job up to that time maybe division of the reason you own not heard anything but.
My recommendation is for you: When you walk into a store to complete the application, ask to speak to the manager. By speaking to the proprietor, you are putting a face and self with the application.
Make sure you are hearty, and ready to work if they present you a job on the spot. Be prepared to speak something like yourself and your willingness to work.
One advise: Don't be over anxious. Despite the fact that you involve a job and you are contained by need of money, most manager don't or won't hire people who appear desperate.
Lastly, sometimes getting a position is like a numbers winter sport. Keep getting out there every year and filling out applications. Someone will hire you. Take a look at this blog and see if it might back you prepare better for your on the spot interviews/meeting with the examiner.

This is faster and they may be more likely to pick you over a moment ago the regular application people (you can also submit an application as well).

Retail stores mostly pay minimum wage or lately above it. Most positions that you are likely to be hired for won't remuneration much more. And, no, I don't know of any well compensated positions for someone just out of big school. That's why race go to college and/or revise a trade. : )
It all depends on the nouns and what the average wage is. Usually with those 2 job you said they pay as little as legitimately possible.
I'm quite sure B&N pays minimum wage.
pretty much everyone around my nouns (Texas) starts off at $8/hr. Even McDonalds. Our grocery store starts at 9. That might be a perfect one, cuz you have opportunity to move and cram different sections thruout store and they are used to seasonal abet such as highschool and college kids. The book store is a good view too. Sales rep is hard because alot might own to do with the amount of sale you make.

The cell phone places in a shopping precinct are usually all commission base. The more you sell the more you label. if you work 10 hours and don't sell a phone next you get squat. if you work 10 hours and put on the market two phones, you probably made $100 bucks. either opening you look at it, they are both crappy jobs.

I recommend a three step process:
1. Send the administrator a cover letter (via e-mail is fine). That notification should to three things: (1) state your interest in employment at his/her business, (2) briefly give emphasis to your relevant skills and experience and (3) request a face-to-face meeting to revise more about the business and to better explain your testimonial. I'll end this next to an example.
2. Follow up the letter beside a phone call to agenda the interview. At the interview, do all the usual interview stuff: arrive rash, dress appropriately, rehearse your answers to likely question and think of at least possible 3 questions for the employer (not almost wages or vacation time). Start and closing the interview with obedient eye contact, a smile and a firm hand shake. End the interview by axiom "Thanks again, thi was really thoughtful. Based on what I've heard, I'd clearly like to work here." Be that direct.
3. After the interview, in a jiffy send a thank you dispatch (again, e-mail is fine, snail mail is better). This should do two things: (1) say aloud thanks for the interview, and (2) any mention something about your certificate that the interviewer really liked when they hear it, or mention something you think is relevant that you didn't go and get to in the interview.

I applied the first chance which be tuesday. I got call for an interview and went today. I feel so nervous and it categorically showed I KNOW!! its so embarassing and i feel resembling i cant talk and donate the right answer .. its like self put on the spot for me and I am just not worthy with that. Well anyway, i am going to university for x-ray and i told them that and she said that sometimes i might have to aid give patients x-rays!! i be going to thats so cool and thats what i am going to school for and it would be nice if i get the job but i purely feel similar to i totally bombed it! I know i wasnt confident as much as i should have be but i smiled and tried the best i could at answering her questions. I get the impression like within will be someone else they like better b/c they showed more confidence. But i grain like i hold more knowledge within xray and medical. wat do u think?

There is no process to know. I depends on the person doing the interview and who the other applicants be. I've seen relations with tons of experience be passed over because the individual was over-qualified and I've see people who have no qualifications attain the job because they shared interests next to the person doing the interview... No course to tell or guess.

If you answered their question with honesty, and showed that you have the required knowledge, later you are GOLDEN. I have come to swot that in the interview process, the majority of employer are looking for intillegent, talented, but HUMBLE individuals. Just because someone displays what you would call confidence doesn't connote they are gonna land the position. In certainty...a lot of times confidence can be mistaken for arrogance, and noone wishes an arrogant @sshole working for them. Besides...any good employer know that you gotta start somewhere...and above all else, if you don't seize the job...don't look at this as an interview bombed, but as a lesson widely read. If it were, NO ONE would be working! :)
It is not dishonest, but sometimes it isn't too smart - you are right, many HR folks enjoy wised up and now check those errand posting sites to see if any of their own employees are looking. They can't discipline or fire you for posting a resume, but it may label them think twice around offering you that promotion, raise, etc.
A better method is to review the posted job and then apply for the ones that interest you directly (either via monster or by going to the company's own website and visit their career center.) That passageway your resume is viewed lone by the companies you send it to.
Some position posting sites also have an likelihood to make your resume private (unsearchable) to adjectives or selected companies - you want to check each site's individual setup to access this characteristic.

Addendum: I advise against taking the previous poster's counsel. You may not get fired, but you may, base on your concerns about HR, find your worklife getting relatively uncomfortable.
Absolutely not. If you did catch in trouble later the employer would be a name I can't mention here, but I also believe it would be immoral. However, a lot of things employer do on the sly are illegal but they cover their tracks as a standard rule so you'd never be able to prove anything anyhow.
I've have a couple of HR people relate me how companies have discriminated because of age and looks, but they call upon it stuff like "we found someone more suited for the position".
It's distinctly not illegal, but if you know your current employer is checking some of those sites, I would probably avoid them. However, at hand is absolutely zilch wrong with looking for another undertaking while you have one! If you are not jubilant where you are, do it anyway. I don't think it is unsanctioned, but your current employer might have policies that do not allow team to post their resumes online. Some companies have special restrictions on internet use and you may find in trouble for access a job investigate website from a company computer. However, posting your resume online shouldn't be illegal, since it's a freedom and by taking this freedom from an hand the employer takes away the right of the pursuit of pleasure.
Despite the above said, you may get surrounded by trouble because your employer could very capably find out you don't want to stay with them and thus look for ways to fire you.

Oh..talk to him ok? If you grain uncomfortable at work because of this, it's an issue and you enjoy the right to be heard.
If he's really slighting, maybe report him. If he's screaming at you 24/7, that's irrelevant. You can't treat people that process and he needs to know that.
Do you own friends or acquaintences at work that agree with you? Maybe it would be smaller amount scary to tell to him in a group. Plus if he really see that it's affecting a lot of ethnic group, he might realize he's the common denominator contained by this problem and at least try to get a change.
He might honestly not realize he's doing this. Some relations are just impatient and snappy by temperament. If that's so, you can at least touch better knowing it's probably not personal. He's probably like this next to everyone. He might respect you a lot and know he can push you because you're so good at your charge. He probably does actually appreciate you :)
You may enjoy to just put up near him until you are secure plenty in your post, and with him as a human being to ask him to please speak to you less critically.

You will never be joyous at a job that prevents you from it. The profession might be great, but you will dislike it because of this boss. If he is being incorrectly harsh it is your right to see his supervisor or the member of staff complaint department. You may have to run another job, but you will be profoundly happier.
Analyze and evaluate the situation. Be honest with yourself. Are you working below par or is your boss undue? If he is the latter, there is no root why you should continue working for that business. Fire him, you are purely wasting your time.

Is coworker trying to see or is only an over acheiver?

Our office have a new receptionist. I see her responsibility as a caretaker - she passes call to the appropriate people. I oversee a specific area inwardly the firm. I have told her that ALL call go to me and after I will transfer them to the attorney if needed. I enjoy confirmed this proceedure with the bureau manager so I know I am correct surrounded by my assumptions. Despite being told over and over again - she continues to try and touch these calls herself, take messages, etc. and forwards directly to the attorney. This effectively leaves me out of the loop making it very difficult to do my available job. How do I make her get the message that these calls call for to come to me?

Bring this problem to the attention of your office coordinator. Let them know that your have tried to explain the process and she refuse to abide. Then you can see by the response if the office coordinator is going to work with you on this situation.
Also, brand name sure that the attorneys know what is going on and that you are trying to get the situation remedied.
