Employers may require you to pinch whatever training they suppose is nessesary. You can swot up to save a natural life and most CPR courses are like simple 4 hour class that cost $25-35 bucks. Maybe surrounded by the past an member of staff choked on a doughnut or something and that's how it came in the order of.It a great life skill to swot not for lifeguards and firefighters only. Who know when you might need it God forbid conceivably your mom or kid who knows. Without oxygen, brain cell start to die and in 6 -10 minutes can results surrounded by permanent brain trash. It takes the average ambulance 10-30minutes to seize to a person...see my point?. Getting CPR started earlier an ambulance shows up is life in your favour and can be the difference between that person have a normal duration or being a bed ridden vegetable...Go do the course and stop whining

I know they get remunerated less than minimum wage, but what I don't obtain is if they're always remunerated the same, similar to a few dollars under minimum, or if they go and get paid depending on the amount contained by tips they report.
It seems close to waiters could put together a ton of money...if they work 3 or 4 tables an hour, and draw from just a $5 tip from respectively table, that's $15-20 an hour right there!

Waiters and Waitress obtain paid a short time over $2/hour. The tips are expected to compensate them up to the minimum wage level. That is why they are supposed to report tips. Anything they spawn over minimum wage then is tax more. So I know allot of wait staff which merely report up to or a little above the minimum wage height. If the wait staff make less than minimum wage for the daytime then the company is suppose to compensate them up to the minimum wage even. Hope this is helpful:)
you're right, and it take skill to get family to lay their money on the table. you either enjoy it or you dont.i get salaried about 4 bucks an hour,,,but i lug home money every night. one of the tricks to serving and making money is to work contained by the right place,,,no buffets, plenty of steaks, seafood, etc. my PAYCHECKS are always more or less the same, but the total amount is what i aver for taxes..i work about 5 hours a hours of darkness, but based on a full time, 40 hour week, i average roughly $22 an hour,,,not bad, eh?
I'm a waitress contained by California at a semi-casual Italian restaurant. I make minimum wage ($7.50) an hour plus tips.
On weekdays we buss our own table so we don't need to tip empire out, so I can make anywhere from $25 dollars (on a really slow day) to $90 dollars.
Now weekends are a adjectives different story. On a Friday or Saturday night, I spawn at least $90 dollars within tips (after tipping out the busser and hostess). I've made as much as $190 dollars some nights though, it simply depends.

By law a restaurant HAS to provide a server beside a paycheck, however the paycheck does not have to be a specific rate. This find tricky but it makes sense given that servers paychecks oscillate depending on the restaurant they work for. Majority of the servers money is relied on by tips. Tips vary (obviously) and decline into 4 catagories
1) Service- was the food/atmosphere plesent?
2) Guest- some guests will compensate the flat rate of 10% some less and but even fewer will tip more.
3) Attitude-of both guest and server.
4) Outside factors- is the guest enebriated? depressed?
At my establishment servers are given a flat rate of 19% gratuity and their paycheck which is a flat rate.

I do not see why you want to contact the department of labor unless they did not pay you any type of wages. Otherwise they would hold nothing to do next to this situation.
Type in Labor Board for your State and City and return with the forms from there. They are downloadable.
You want to document what happened and maybe get witness statements which may enjoy to be notarized. Ask the board. They should be able to relieve you.
First Contact H.R, make a Report near.. Make sure you completely document the dates, times and what happen before you run in.
If they do nought to help resolve the situation, consequently go directly to the labor board and or eeoc.. they will instigate an interview and investigation - they even enjoy lawyers that work in attendance that could represent you at no cost.
