I did this with me and ancestors were calling me rear legs. It helps you stick out from the pile of applications. Keep on applying for job and don't give up. depends on the place you own applied to, but most places now days will hang on to application on file for 6 months and single call you if they are interested within you. Calling them will not make them consider hiring you anymore than if you don't call upon.
Whenever I was anxious for a profession, I would call them up and ask them around the status of my application and then they would propose me an interview immediately.
It usually depends on how big the company is, so if it be a biiiig company then they would probably hold a lot more applicants and it usually take a couple of weeks for them even to get through the initial bulk of cvs.
You didn't right to be heard how long it had be but I would leave it a few days later call only just to make sure they received your cv through the post or email, etc. It also give you a chance to cause a good hollow with whoever is contained by charge of going through the cvs. That way when they do look at yours they will (hopefully) remember that you call and your cv will be in the 'yes' pile.
Every company is different and depending on how various applications/resumes they received, it might take a while to jump through them all. Normally, if you haven't hear back from them surrounded by a week, it's acceptable to beckon them to follow up. It's good to be proactive. I don't know what type of assignment you're looking for but for office work, using an agency is a devout way to shift. You can even do temp to perm. I lone know of on FD that you would be right at the limit. FDNY. You must be appointed by your 34th birthday. Otherwise your age is a devout age. We have 4 users on Amicus. It's be great once it got set up properly, which did clutch some time (including a day when the techs from Canada be playing on my computer all day). Part of the set-up problem be my Cingular Treo 650 and the synching, so you may not have any issues. The support have been beyond doubt wonderful.
We use it with an Exchange server and hold no problems there. The integration beside Outlook email is great and when you use the file prospect, you can see all the emails contained by the case no business who sent them. The lawyers can write follow-up on the main folder page to keep track of on-going projects. We also use PC Law for accounting and the integration within is great too. We've just started setting up the internet portion of the library but I added one today without looking at the instructions. Overall, Amicus is intuitive so it's really easy to use.
We didn't look at Abacus but did look at Client Profiles which have the same features but be more difficult to set up and was more expensive. With a small department it was an jammy choice for us. I briefly used CP at another firm, just as it be being instituted, and it seem to have masses more problems with the initial set up. It also seem that CP was set up more for PI attorneys so copious modifications had to be made for home law.
