I have worked near many family like that and I used to be aware of that I was losing something (integrity, pride) if I give in. Now I weigh the issues to determine how I will act in response.
(1) How important is the issue? If you furnish up or "lose" the argument, what will happen?
(2) Is it costing me anything, e.g. money out of my pocket or personal time/overtime?
(3) If I don't "win" the argument, will I or anyone else be put at risk, e.g. safety/hazard?
(4) How much will it cost the company?
An example: A boss asked me at 9 a.m. (Eastern) to beckon a west coast office (6 a.m. Pacific). She wouldn't adopt that this person be in a different time zone and looked-for me to call her anyway. I figure I had zilch to lose, so I called and departed a message. What can you do for our company? What do you expect to gain from our company? I would not put in the picture them that you have another proffer, it may sound more close to you are twisting their arm into giving you the job, but if you are currently employed do tolerate them know, believe it or not, that can make you a more attractive choice. Your cover letter looks completely good, but isn't what I'd consider a "smaller amount professional" letter. I chew over I would remove the "As you have seen" surrounded by the second sentence of the first paragraph, as most people who read it won't own seen anything of the sort.
Perhaps trade name the letter a personal tale of your experience as an intern. Some specific event that caught your attention and heart that might point them to WHY you want the job. For example, if you help a particular party struggle through an event and how that taught you and them both something. Your resume will point up your skills and qualifications... the cover epistle should highlight your self-image and who you are as a person. So, I'd speak your letter is still too "cold" and "professional" and not comparatively "personal" enough.
