Can my employer cutback my hours from FT to PT minus asking me?
Question:I work for Wal Mart - CANADA, now we hold listings saying min/max hours that qualify as constituent time hours and what qualify as full time hours. I'm the only one works 4 shifts per week, not 5 similar to the rest of the crew. At Christmas time they told the staff they could work longer shifts and even extra days, which I didn't do, because a few years ago I was told that while everyone else lost hours within Jan - they couldn't cut mine back from full time to subdivision time. He also told me don't work the extra before Christmas. Now that assistant coordinator is no longer with us, and the one we hold now have cut my hours to part time, can he do this? I've tried penetrating for the answer at the Ministy of Labour, but they only communicate about how much overtime an employer can produce an employee work. Can someone please lend a hand?
