Job interview at aeropostale?

Question:
I was so excited for getting the interview, I didn't hear what she told me what I should wear to my interview. So what should I wear?

Answers:
Most available job interview books would tell you to wear anything it is the workers are wearing in the store, plus a horizontal. This is not to say that you should wear adjectives aeropostale clothing, you may come across as just wanting the errand so you can score more clothes, which is not necessarily a impossible thing, but it would trade name you look kind of suck-uppy. They probably want to know that you enjoy some fashion sense, and if you wear adjectives of the store's clothes, as the manager I would of late wonder if you "bought" the look so you could fit in. Dress nice (no holes, worn out edges, piercings etc...even if that is the fashion), but don't dress similar to you are going for a stock broker management position or they'll reflect on you're out of place and won't fit within with their clothing or the other peole that work at hand. Also, be "fun", be energetic (no business how tired you are) and say you are feeling like to work whatever hours they entail (even if you have to modify that stance later, once they attain to know you it's easier than if you put the limitations up front...)

What should i voice?

Question:
I applied for a million different jobs and finally get one. I like it to, the hours are highly flexible. But another job i applied to a short time ago got final to me... the want to set up an interview. They pay a bit better, but i doubt they will be as flexible as my current profession, wich is great because i have lots of classes/homework to preserve up with. But i be thinking maybe to dance and see if they can give me a livelihood on the weekend only, wich is when i dont work at my regular situation. So what do you think? What should i report the them? It took me a lot of convincing to find me that job interview.

Answers:
Tell them the truth. Explain that while looking, you found a position, but are still willing to work weekends solely somewhere else. That may be what they are looking for anyways.
Be upfront so you're not wasting the interviewer's time. Tell them your situation changed and you're only looking for weekend, quantity time work. You may feel close to a jerk for working so concrete to get the interview, but contained by the end it's better to be upfront and honest.
You involve to make sure the undertaking you have fits into your natural life style, if you are in college then it sounds close to "time" is more import than money at this point, the livelihood you are at now have the possibilities of increasing your pay after a few months of one their I'm sure..you should find out about raise and when you are eligible for them, if you take a profession that dosent fit your schedule you are going to find it concrete to attend one or the other... and then this profession would be useless because eventually you will quit or they will let you travel.. which job would you prefer doing you should ask yourself? Sounds close to you are at a place that's working why tempt fate the grass isn't other greener on the other side and money as great as it is to make lots of, can not be the decide factor unless money is the issue.. sounds like time is the issue so stay where on earth you are at.
It never hurts to go on the interview. You never know what they are of a mind to offer until you stir. Also, you have to ask yourself, do you really want to work two job and go to academy? Does that still allow for a social life?
My son have the same dilemma. This what he did:
You own to sort your priorities first.
Take a piece of paper and account them in one column, after list the first career pro & cons on the next column, the 2nd profession pro & cons on the following column. and how they match your expectations.
This small exercise should comfort you make the right ruling.
Good luck.
Another thing, don't explain to any of the employer about the other post, he may be crossed.
Also, don't resign from the first job past signing with the 2nd.

P.S. My son took the second duty.
You better think this one through.soundlike you took a bite more than you can chew...i tight-fisted can you handle both job plus all your studying as capably..money is not everything at this moment as you do need the standard of a good lessons and to do your best you do need to be within tip top condition...if you have sufficient money from the flexible opportunity than it should be good satisfactory.and you can always consent to go of the other chore.i know you did alot of convincing and it made you feel tied to it but you do can turn it down and dont look vertebrae..apologise with the right common sense say that the first assignment got to you first and this will show that you are responsible not purely leaving etc....

But if you close to the second job than choose the second errand and apologise to the first with the right function like i get offer another assignment and they pay more and i cannot toy with two jobs etc...again this will engender you sound responsible on what you set your mind to pilfer

BUT if you can handle adjectives then move about for it.All the best
Go and do the interview and see what they have to proffer. It might end up self more flexible than you realize and you might be able to seize what you want in jargon of hours. It's also good to budge to interviews and get practice for the adjectives. But be honest with yourself and beside them and don't go unless you really want to consider some type of employment next to them. It's not fair to squander their time.
that is up to you and your work nouns at school... if you can toy with it then okay... but net sure that it is not a conflict of interest between the two jobs..

I have a manger that told be sense he go through a training course to become a manger, that I'm not allowed to work within the kitchen. If I did work in the kitchen and seize caught, he'd be fined $11,000. If anyone has a website that have the current copy-write on it, and that has the Illinois State Child Labor Law, allowing minors underneath 16 to work in kitchens.

Answers:
Why don't you check beside the fast food chains. I hold seen teens working surrounded by the kitchen.

Peace and blessings!
There are many different tasks involved within running a kitchen, and most of them can be restricted, as to the age of the person mortal able to achieve each. I know you cannot operate a brochure slicer until you are 16, and you cannot operate an electric one until you are 18. There are laws in the region of the age you have to be to run fryers and ovens also. I am not sure just about the amount of the fines, but I do know that they are quite glorious. That is why alot of restaurants won't hire anyone under the age of 16.
Making food requires warmth, and it's just too much of a liability for a restaurant to feel.

Even if it is legal, most employer just won't bother beside it...nor are they required to.
Most states forbid people lower than 16 from working around knives, slicers, etc. Employers don't requirement the risk of hiring someone under 16.
Here's the intermingle to the IL Child labor law:

This is getting insane.?

Question:
Okay, I graduated two years ago with a bachelors degree in history. In the last two years I've had four jobs, two laid me off, and one was temporary and they let me go.

With in those four jobs, I had one job pay me 12 dollars an hour. The other three paid me 8 dollars, 7.50, and 7.00 dollars an hour.

All my supervisors/managers never had a problem with me and told me I was an excellent worker also.

I've also applied at different jobs that could use my degree like musuems and archive jobs in the area I live in, which is the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex area.

And I've done research along the way and what type of jobs people with history degrees can use. I also know one can be a history teacher if they go back and get certified through an alternative certification program. So there was always that option of teaching.

Now I'm about to take my fifth job in two years working at Lowe's as a temporary cashier at 9 dollars an hour.

Anybody have some advice? This is getting old.

Answers:
wow thats rough.i have no degree whatsoever and i make 14.50...maybe moving someplace else would help?
go to alpineaccess.com idk if i spelled it rite
time was in my day when all you needed was a high school diploma...sounds like you need a masters to get a decent job....good luck
Dont give up. Its not your "degree of ability" its your age. Its a part of life. Keep on looking you will find something that suits you. Try going into the documenting part of history, like a writer.
you could try doing something that isnt realted to your degree or you could do somehting that is so specifed and rarr that when you have the job they wont want to get rid of you because they make not be able to find someone esle
Yeah - my husband also graduated a few years ago with a degree in History and can't seem to find a relevant position. www.aaslh.org is a good job search website for history-related careers. You could also try admin./business type positions. Human Resources or accounting, if you're good at that. In the meantime, take some classes - online makes scheduling easier. Brush up on specific skills that might make you more employable. Also, embarrassing as it may seem - try the Workforce office in your area. Good luck and hang in there!
That's a tough question. If there is a way you could specialize and focus on a certain type of retail, or an industry, that might make you more differentiated. The other way to solve this is to start your own business. The boss is the last person to get the pink slip. Good luck!
You have a liberal arts degree in a world that wants science degrees. I think the options you have are: be a teacher, continue your education and learn a marketable skill, or master the phrase "Would you like fries with that?" Ok, so I'm a smart-aleck. You could also join the military, or go into public service, we need leaders so we don't repeat some of the mistakes of history.
First, I have a question. Why are you working at such low-level jobs? The longer you do this, the more employers will think there's something wrong. I'm beginning to think so and I don't even know you! At least go into your local school as a substitute teacher, which you can do without certification if you have the credits in your subject. Please, investigate every school within 50 miles from you and stop working at these jobs.
stand tall and volunteer the peace corps. That could sound very adventures. It could possibly open opportunities in your future job endeavors, and looks good on the resume
Application of the information you gained via your degree program is very limited in terms of business fields. If you can/want to hack it go into teaching and work your way up the administrative line.

The good thing about your college process is that they taught you how to think and apply yourself --

Good Luck
ever hear of starting at the bottom, and working up?
Employers, want to make their business prosperous. They want to pay crap to those workers thay get that employer, to ware he is at now.

I am seeing a lot of workers loosing their possition, because when time comes around for raises, or moving up a notch or two. The work place drops them. I am 53, and shaved my head, just so no interviewer, can see the hair color changing.

No matter whow good your credentials are, when down sizeing is needed, you go by by
Sorry about your difficulties.

I think that you have fallen into a pattern of having to accept anything to get by. This obviously isn't what you want to do. But it is so easy a trap to fall into.

What do you really want to do with your degree? What did you envision doing as a career when you set out to get the degree? If you can figure out what your ideal situation would be, then you can decide what you need to do to get there. If that means working at Lowes while you get additional education or certification, so be it.

Then you need to look at how feasible that goal really is. If your dream job was to be a Curator at the Smithsonian, then that is probably unrealistic since it is such a finite position with so few openings. If your dream job has proved unrealistic, then look at plan B. What is realistic that you would enjoy and at which you could make a living.

In my humble opinion, until you can decide where you want to go and how realistic it is to get there, you will be stuck in this pattern. But once you have a road map...it should all look a whole lot brighter.

Very best wishes!
I went to school for nursing. I got my LPNs. I now work in an accounting department for a large hotel management company. Sometimes what we go to school for are things that really don't peak our interest or for things that there isn't a high demand for. There are several "fields" that a person could go into. General managers of hotels make about $65 grand a year. That's not too bad. More than a teacher anyway. I guess my whole point is expand your employment search. It is amazing as to what is out there waiting for us.
I feel your pain! I have a BA in English, and I'm working for 11.33 an hour at a collection agency (thank god, not actually collecting the money any more!). After extensive searching, I've learned no one wants to pay me for my education and creativity, so I'm going back to school so I can teach (NY is a strict state for certification). It's ridiculous that it takes so much to take just a step forward!
check online teaching if you have a BA in anything they will pay you to grade papers and work from home try this site NO id dont have any ties to it i ws in search of work at home at one point and these sites always listed LEGIT companies that will pay for people with BA. to work for them its nuts! Plus check out telecommuting sites they always have serious employers but u need a degree and i dont ahve one

Note: I also did a search on the internet..Yahoo..for jobs for people with history degrees..and found information for you..you will notice that the two major areas I suggested, research and communications, are also selected by this author: Sorry, but I don't think you thought this through, or really did any kind of planning as to what options are available for people with history majors:
Here is the information available:

"Completion of a bachelor's degree in History or a history major is an enriching experience that allows you to study and research the major social, political, cultural and economic events of the past.

Because the skills gained on a History degree are so wide-ranging, graduates are employed by almost every type of employer. A Bachelor's degree will help you to gain some entry level roles, such as research assistant, administrative assistant or management trainee. Your career opportunities will widen dramatically if you also have a Master's degree or doctorate. You'll also be able to gain higher level jobs.

It's rare to be able to walk straight into a history-related occupation upon graduating. Such careers need to be planned for, as they usually need some extra study or training. However, history graduates gain so many transferable skills that employers in business, government and education are often keen to recruit them. Such skills include research, communication and statistical methods. Your employability will be enhanced if you undertake work experience and relevant postgraduate qualifications.

This means that history graduates actually have quite a wide range of employment prospects in different sectors. So if you have been asking yourself the question "" then

What can I do with a degree in history?
Research jobs with a history degree / history major:

Many history graduates move into careers as researchers, drawing on their skills in evaluating and analysing documentary evidence. Such work can be within museums and historical organisations. Employment can also be found with government departments and agencies, not-for-profit organisations and associations. Positions can include Policy Advisors, who serve as planners, evaluators, and policy analysts, and local historians. Additionally, with specialist training, graduates can become professionals in Cultural Resources Management and Historic Preservation. Other careers include: Librarian, Museum or Gallery Curator, Archivist, Genealogist, Records Manager and Information Officer.

Careers in history: Industry and Commerce

Coupling your studies in history with a Business Studies minor or direct business experience opens the gateway to many jobs in industry and commerce, including retail and finance. General commercial careers include Manager and Research Analyst. Marketing and Sales-related careers include Marketing Officer, Sales Representative or Executive, Retail and Buying. Financial Services careers include Insurance Agent and Banker.

Law and Accountancy jobs with a history degree / history majors:

Due to their solid foundation in research and analysis, history graduates often pursue careers in law, especially if their degree is combined with political history or science. Careers include Solicitor, both Commercial and Non-Commercial, Legal Assistant and Accountant.

Communications

History graduates generally possess high levels of literacy and critical thinking abilities, so are often suited to careers in communications, particularly advertising, marketing and PR. Other careers include journalism, such as Newspaper or Broadcast Journalist.

Publishing and the Arts

Once again, literary competency and the ability to think creatively within a clear framework is sought by employers in these sectors. Arts Administrators need a good combination of creative and administrative skills, while Editorial or Marketing staff need literary skills and a commercial awareness.

Public Sector Graduates of all disciplines are recruited to the civil service, taking up posts with administrative and management responsibilities. At local government level, graduates can enter posts as Administrators, organising the delivery of services, co-ordinating and servicing committees, writing reports, and drafting policies and procedures.

Academia and Education

Schools, colleges and universities employ many history graduates. Working as a Research Assistant or Researcher at College and University levels is one option, often combined with lecturing work, which might in turn lead to a career as a history professor.

Teaching history as a subject for 11 to 18 year olds is a career chosen by many, or teaching general national curriculum subjects to under 11's at primary school level. A post-graduate teaching certificate is needed.

Alternatively, graduates can continue with post-graduate study in more vocational fields such as public policy, political science, public administration, business, journalism, communications, etc.

Skills You Should Highlight
Whatever kind of employment you're pursuing, you should highlight the following transferable skills in your applications, CVs / resumes and covering letters:

Understanding of and experience in research methodology;
Statistical compilation and analysis;
Information management;
Critical thinking and analytical skills;
Verbal and written literacy;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Independent viewpoint.

Would you date someone that worked a minimum-wage brief and be not a examiner?

Question:
Please, no offense to anyone. I worked as a waitress for a long time. I have have my share of minimum and near minimum-wage paying job. However, it seems to me that most citizens do not want to date someone that flips burgers.
Is it not what's on the inside and how the person treats you that counts?

Answers:
It depends on abundantly of things. You mentioned that they had a minimum wage opportunity. What about you?

If you hold a Master's Degree, are working the job of your dreams and enjoy it ALL going on for you, you may be dating WAAAAAY below your league. If that is the baggage, he's probably just looking for a Sugar Momma.

If you are modestly rotten and he is working minimum wage, while going to school, or looking for a better profession, and treats you well, afterwards stick with him for a while.

In a similar situation here. I hold the degree and the work, the boyfriend works construction and is a dishwasher; definite plans to finish his scope. I don't cut him slack though. He doesn't get any Sugar Momma treatment from me. I appreciate his dilemma, cause I be there once, but made it through.
Well if he have a bright future later yeah and if he is in academy
yes the inside of a person counts alot.Personality i would date some one who have a minimum wage job Knowing I am am making bulk of the money it doesnet bugg me Only if the character who your with treats you biddable.
If you are pretty, smells nice, polite and cheerful. I would. Your wage is not important. Its friendship and trust that really counts. And how you treat me.

Is the minimum wage surrounded by New york as giant as California? For the waiter?

Question:
just curious

Answers:
I don't know what min. wage is within NY, but to counter the answerer above me, I applied for serving positions in San Diego fund in Oct. (2006) and servers told me they be getting paid full CA min. wage ($6.75 consequently; it was raise to $7.50 starting 2007), as well as anything they earned within tips.

According to this blog article () which was written surrounded by August 2006, California is one of 7 states which does not recognize tip credit, which the answerer above explained. The other six states are/were: Alaska, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

[ Based on this information, if CA is still a state that does not endorse tip credit, you know for sure that CA servers are making more than NY (because they're getting paid $2.13/hr and not full state minimum). ]

Some lawmaker are trying to get a bill passed so that these seven states could no longer Not certificate tip credit, so I have no perception whether CA is still paying servers $7.50/hr + tips. You could try calling several restaurants in CA and see whether they're inclined to disclose any of their pay info.

Here is the website where on earth I got some of my info from (the rest, personal experience):
http://www.callaborlaw.com/archives/wage...
Hope this be helpful.
There is no minimum wage i.e. for waiters one and only. There is a minimum wage that applies to all wage earners. California's minimum wage is slightly better than that of New York.
in cali, it's 8.00/hr. within NY, it's 7.15/hr. for waiters, since you catch tips, the base rate + tips should at lowest equal the min. wage. "Employers of “tipped employees” must pay a dosh wage of at least $2.13 per hour if they claim a tip credit against their minimum wage requisite. If an employee's tips combined with the employer's lolly wage of at least $2.13 per hour do not equal the minimum hourly wage, the employer must net up the difference. Certain other conditions must also be met."

Do you hold a method to your employment investigate?

Question:
I would like tips on how to match up your job hunting electioneer. The leads are other out there, but how do you be in command of it all? The best answer will be one that precisely explains a system that have worked for him.

Answers:
I set a goal for myself: Apply for two job a day, whether I am impeccably qualified, a little overqualified, or sometimes a short time underqualified.

It took a while for interviews to start rolling in, and I get many emails and parcels of rejection.

I stuck with it for 8 months up to that time I landed a VERY dutiful job surrounded by a place I love to live in!

Don't impart up even when it looks hopeless. It's not!
The Five Best Ways to Hunt for a Job. The five best ways to try to find a job, planned in lay down from lowest success rate to best, are:

1. Asking for living leads from: nearest and dearest members, friends, family in the community, staff at profession centers -- especially at your local community college or high academy or college where you graduate.

2. Knocking on the door of any employer, factory, or office that interests you, whether they are certain to have a see or not.

3. By yourself, using the phone book's Yellow Pages to identify subjects or fields of interest to you surrounded by the town or city where you are, and next calling up the employers planned in that enclosed space, to ask if they are hiring for the type of position you can do, and do well.

4. In a group next to other job hunters, using the phone book's Yellow Pages to identify subjects or field of interest to you in the town or city where on earth you are, and then calling up the employer listed within that field, to ask if they are hiring for the type of position they can do, and do resourcefully.

5. Doing A Life-Changing Job-Hunt. A job hunt is only a job hunt until we come to that point surrounded by our lives where we want to set our foot upon a new street. When the traditional job hunt doesn't work vastly well at adjectives. A life shifting job hunt requires a different approach. You are contemplating significantly shifting direction. This is called by many names. Sometimes it's call "Find Your Dream Job," Sometimes it is called "a profession change."

This system have been used by millions of general public and proven to be the most effective. I own taught this sytem to hundeds of individuals and it really works.

Peace and every blessing!

If u in recent times moved to a unknown state and adjectives of your reference are from New York will they try to ring?

Question:
For a waitstaff position in a diner, club or/ and tavern Is it likely that they may not call upon them since these are all out of state? Also what do you do If you be not in NY justifiably, is there a method to verify this, even if you were born within the united states and hold a social security # etc...
The relations in New York may supply a rude impression and even though they like me may convey it New York style and that may lead them to have a sneaking suspicion that I was a horrible hand in California vocabulary?

Answers:
Geez - just slit your wrists and be done near it.

Dude - if they are worth their salt - they will bid for a reference. However, I own seen more times than not they usually don't bother unless it's a big scale place.

You should explain the "illegality" of individual in NY even though you be a US Resident.
Yes, of course they will.

Background checks disclosure requirement?

Question:
What does the law require give or take a few disclosure of BDP or PTSD treatment?

I was told by a psych counselor 6 years ago that I am not required to disclose my history of BPD/PTSD treatment from lots years ago, due to the law.

But, if I don't disclose on these BC forms, I could lose my living and an important personal opportunity.

Anyone know if I am LEGALLY required to disclose my psych history? Or is it voluntary? Will they be capable of find out? There were no law broken or convictions made. Just a short time surrounded by a lock down due to suicide watch.

Everythings cool in a minute, very stable next to no meds or anything for many years. But, am I required to disclose olden times?

Answers:
I actually would, especially since you are not currently undergo treatment.

There are certain professions that can justifiably require this information from applicants, such as direct-patient healthcare professionals, and those carrying a firearm for the protection of the general public which includes military personnel and police officer.

Keep in mind, that the FBI have access to so much more information than the average employer...especially if your treatment was to a degree paid by an insurance company, they will know how to find out.

They are going to have you evaluated for mental condition anyway, so better to disclose it.

Your BEST defense in your favor is that you are in a minute stable, no drugs, and it's been abundant years since you have have treatment.

If this was any other goverment position, or any other broad employer, you have the permitted right not to disclose it.
I believe under HIPPA that adjectives of that is protected as medical accounts privacy. Only a handful of jobs require need that kind of information and I'm guessing yours isn't one of them!
Noooo... Definitely no inevitability to disclose that information nor can a prospective employer make such an inquiry unless your psych history is pertinent to the position which I doubt terribly much. If that were the armour I wouldn't have be hired anywhere after the age of 24 yo. Nervous breakdown, suicide watch, blah blah blah. I be young and chite happen. I never told any prospective employer after I was released and not a soul ever found out. Keep that to yourself.
You are not legally required to disclose any medical condition that have no bearing on your position. Only OTR truckers and pilots, police etc own to disclose that sort of info due to the nature of the ailment it could pose a threat to the public.

You medical history is your own. Especially mental. Its all factor of the Americans with Disabilities stroke. Go here to learn more. http://www.eeoc.gov/types/ada.html...

I suffer from MS. We didn't ask for this to occur it just does. MS cause all sorts of issues. I usually go and get the job nail down and then disclose the MS. That course they can't discriminate based on the sickness and I don't have to shift the legal route.

God speed to you sir.

It's a business, not a situation so there will be some start up cost purely like if you be to open up your own Starbucks or Subway! It's a fraction of the cost, smaller amount headaches and no over cranium. Most home based business costs smaller number than $500 to start. I highly recommend this business. As an employer are we required to foot an hand while he attends physical psychotherapy during working hours?

Question:

Answers:
If physical therapy is ordered by the doctor due to injuries received while on the duty, then the answer is yes. If the injury is not job-related, the employer is not required to foot an employee for that. You can require that an hand take sick give up or time off minus pay contained by that case.
if he get injured on the job
nope, not unless they hold a contract that says they acquire paid for personal time, or if they choose to use vacation/sick rate for this purpose.
He should be on workman's compensation if this is due to a work related injury and getting paid. If it isn't work related, and he have sick hours to use, the answer would be yes.
I DONT THINK SO.UNLESS ITS PTO (PAID TIME OFF)
As others say, your state worker's comp rules should let somebody know you, if this is a work comp issue.

If not, and the employee is salaried or commissioned, you should check next to your state wage and hour board. We are told that you cannot dock less than a full hours of daylight of sick or vacation time on a salaried hand because that turns them into an hourly employee. So, if they solely work 10 minutes in a light of day, they are still supposed to be paid. Of course, if near is excessive absenteeism that isn't made up at other times when they work over their regular hours, you can certainly reprimand and fire for that.
It depends upon your company policy. Can he appropriate sick leave, PTO or break time for those hours?
No. You are not.
If the injury is work related, then you have need of to see what your State Laws and your Workers' Comp insurance company say. If it is not work related the Family and Medical Leave Act requires your to allow the time sour provided the employee have worked for you for more than 12 months and more than 1000 hours during that 12 month period. If the member of staff is eligible for FMLA you can require the employee to use any accrue sick/vacation time for the time off. This is to your help as the employee could use adjectives 12 weeks of FMLA and then recount you that he/she intends to take optional time for sick/vacation time.

If the employee is not eligible for FMLA, later you need to follow your company policy concerning sick time one and only. If the employee is not eligible for sick time, later you do not have to reimburse them for hours not worked unless he is salaried.
