As Socrates once said “an unexamined life is not worth living”. By Socrates’ litmus assessment, many American lives, which own been seduced by the allurement of material comfort over satisfaction, are frivolous.
I did the same entity nearly four years ago. I am a very thorny working workaholic developed the trait from my mother. She and I have like work ethics. I have a nursing staff of 80-90 RN's so it was rather a challenging charge. In addition every other week I be on call 24 7. The infinite majority of the job be to make sure respectively case be staffed for the reuired hours and days. Of course daily at hand was staffing issues. Nurses calling bad, pts family firing the nurse and wanting a replacement ASAP and consequently the issue the rn or patients families have with respectively other. Of course I would get the irate call and get cursed out surrounded by every language plausible. When I was on call upon I was connected to 4 extremely large binders next to patients info and nurses info in them and a bleeper (yes a pager, not a cell phone). So I could be surrounded by the grocery store and the pager would travel off and I would hold to stop shopping run out to the car and phone the pagee for what was other a problem. If a nurse called rotten, had to evacuate, or got thrown out, I have to immediately gothrough the binder of nurses and find a nurse who be 1-avalible 2-willing to stop what they were doing and step 3-make sure she was a nurse beside the proper credentials for the said case. 9 out of ten times it be the biggest hassle one can imagine. I be a grown woman BEGGING a nurse to go to a suitcase, offeing everything except to concieve a child for the nurse! Of course regardless of the out come good or bleak, soeone would call my supervisor and complain on the subsequent working day. I would go and get pages at 2 or 3 contained by the morning because the patients parent said something disrespectful to the nurse and the nurse was eaving the suitcase!! Well remember at the beginnig I told you of my committment to work and how my mom has passed on the similar work nouns? my mom is the type if you called her and said trhat your arm be severly cut and was around to fall off--she would read out put a bandade on it and pressure and go to work. Go to the doctor at the running out of your shift. And I am deadly serious. I report to you this to say that my mom told me to quit that duty, that it was to stressful!! That is how doomed to failure it was. My fiancee be a sweetheart, we got busy around that time too. At 2 in the morning when the bleeper would go rotten he would stumble out of the bad and step get the binders for me while I woke myself up plenty to be able to communicate next to the caller. Finally after 2 years I couldn't hold it anymore at started looking for a new chore. I found one and quit the job from hell. If I have stayed I probably would have glorious blood pressure, or heart disease. Since I left they enjoy had nearly two dozen folks hired/fired or quit that tried doing that position. I too am single and have no dependants, my fiancee lives contained by LA (I live in Long Beach, California) near his mother who is quite ailing. So I am own my own finacially. But you know what? what you and I did takes guts but its is more after well worth it. Your problem with social anxiety can be treated. Do not use it as an excuse, soon you will wake up and realise you enjoy thrown your life away into the bottom of a bottle. You enjoy a good level and enough relevant experience to take a really good situation. take some time out to procure the problem treated. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy works very promptly (6-12) sessions and is extremely effective within this area. I importantly recommend it. At least see your GP and yak to him/her about your option. I used to hold the same problem and eventually i have a break down. I eventually learned to confront my demons- individuals are just population. I had some counselling that help me learn to confront my issues. I afterwards got a livelihood in a supermarket- the first few days be really tough but once past that it be a great way to assistance me overcome my fears. I even did a presentation on the inductory day contained by front of everyone else- once i accomplished this i realised i could do anything. I have be at my present company as a manager for 5 years and are in good spirits there. Its a relatively small domestic company and I have be promoted and earn a decent earnings.
However, I have be offered a position at a big public company in one and the same field and the pay is only 3k more a year than what i earn very soon.
If I decide not to bear the job, do i still give an account my current employer before i decline the proposition to see what their reaction is beside regard to a counter donate? at least agree to them know they could lose me? Is this going to work out for me getting more money from them?
Or if I decide not to bear the job it's better past its sell-by date not saying anything to my current employer because its simply 3k more and after taxes it won't amount to much?
I don't want to cause friction down the smudge with my current employer near them thinking i pushed them into a corner

If you are relieved at your current employer, I suggest you to stay.
In my opinion, you should inform your current supervisor that another company is offering you more money for the same position. You are not required to utter how much more they are willing to set aside you, but you can if you want. I personally wouldn't since it is simply a 3,000 increase, but it also depends on how much you really need that increase. Your current employer might even propose you a higher take-home pay if they really need you.
If you are looking for more money, you should have a word to your employer to see if there are any other projects or responsibilities you can be involved contained by. Maybe you can even try negotiating benefits and perk.
If you are looking for a new environment since you work contained by a small company, then you should emphatically go for it. I enunciate this because in a bigger company you will hold more room for advancement and other opportunities.
