Do what you have to do. Get two minimum wage job if you have to for the time anyone. Then you can still look for your dream job. I'm sure there's plenty of places that obligation a receptionist. Look in the tabloid for a job. Life doesn't stop because you lose your brief...keep truckin'.
appendage your resume in to one of those impermanent agencies like Adecco, Accountemps, etc. i know a couple of ancestors that had a short-term position with companies and after the companies they were temporarily assigned to latter made them an offer for full time employment. this route you can try the potential employer out and if you don't like it here you can ask the temp agency to find you a position elsewhere.
