On average how long would it take a proficient conventional machinist next to excellent math skills to become a good CNC machinist? Do the present hours of daylight trade schools next to a CNC curriculum teach someone ample to score a virtuous paying job out of university? Thanks!

if you are already a machinist that is a gigantic lend a hand, i went to arts school for machining and ended up as a cnc machinist and have a little trouble sometimes, the setting of conventional machining would help a ton, you would principally learn the programming chunk of it and the machinging part would be pretty assured for you,

You should do pretty in good health in a sort of short time. Your traditional machining skills should be a plus for you because you know what does and does not work when machining. I have a brother that go from traditional machining to CNC with no problem, and have never had any formal training surrounded by CNC...he just know what works and what doesn't. He has done better than most machinist who own had formal training where on earth he work. Most trained CNC operators do not own the experience to go beyond a set of setup specifications to know if a setup will really work or not; it is a skill most traditional machinist give the impression of being to possess.
