My employer has cut my hours from 40 to 28 hours. But they hold not cut any of my duties and still expect the same amount of work to be done. Is this decriminalized? What can I do about it?

Answers:
Yes it is legalized they can do what they want, just do the best you can and what get done gets done what does not does not.
draw from a new profession about adjectives you can do
Answer to first question - YES.
Answer to second examine - Quit and find another job.
They can expect anything they want. You should junk to do the work, document every problem you have. Let them fire you and wallet a complaint, and sue them with the Depart of Human Rights..they usually govern the labor disputes. Check next to your State. And they will pay to maintain you as well!
I can't interpret that it would be illegal. You hold a couple choices to make. You can stay and construct the most of it, you can search for a hot job or you can homily to your employer and see if they will either increase your hours again or trim the responsibilities.
Yes, they can. I remember something approaching this happening to my best friend when he started out. In my best friend's casing, they wanted to cut the font income so they wouldn't have to reimburse much for unemployment. My warning is that you should use any extra time to send out resumes and bring back some interviews. You really need to bring back out of dodge. Going after a prior employer is sometimes very risky. Think its better to lately leave for greener pasture.

Question:
Say you get an interview beside another position that you like and currently you are not getting compensated what you deserve in yourexisting errand. If asked what were you making or what do you expect? what is the alternative to lying so you can start up surrounded by this new position near a better starting point ?

Answers:
I agree with Jason. According to remuneration negotiation expert Jack Chapman, it's important to do your research, know what you want and are predisposed to accept, and never put any numbers on the table until the employer have made an initial offer. He say, "Generally, you will want to bump the starting salary up 5-10% or more. But, contained by the worst case scenario, if they walk first, you certainly won't seize less than their initial grant." You can read more from Chapman here: http://www.payscale.com/resources.aspx?n...

PayScale.com has other articles on pay negotiation as well as resume tips and trade advice. You can also steal their free salary survey to obtain more accurate salary information for the specific position you're applying for. Hope that help,

Never lie first past its sell-by date. Secondly change the interview around, ask them what they are looking for (pay wise) as far as someone with your experience and schooling. Never be the first to put a number on the table.

Life minus a amount...?

Question:
My college career is at a stand still AGAIN... I lately don't know ... I guess college is not right for me... I have be in college since 2001... first studying Medicine (I get into a 7 year program where you receive your BA and MD), then I have personal crisis that forced me to leave (i really didn't want to study prescription. it was more close to the thing to do within my family.) next I went backbone to school and terminated up majoring in Political Science (again, something I wasn't really into). Then, for not even a semester get into History. That didn't last. And this summer I tried Math and I newly don't have the Math skill I used to own.

Sigh...

There is one field I know I really other liked. And to be exact computers. I was skilled myself this or that and loved to mess with my computer. I even self-taught myself some rough C programming and currently messing with Python and Linux. Majoring contained by Computer Science at this point is near impossible because of my finical burden.

Can I acquire a job within computers?

Answers:
Question is if you like computers soo much why did you not embezzle that up? I digress mt son was a computer enthusiast without the formal nurture and started out a year ago as tech support at a ISP provider, has gone from $8.50 and hour to almost $15 and is still moving up and getting offer in the IT pen. 3 things to look into. One Linux is hot and in call for of people who know it. Microsoft you can find certified in almost guarantees a commission, lastly get certified as a SAP power user you can almost write your own ticket
You necessitate to finish you university academic training, first. Other vocational citations is just an accessory, unless it is a CPA, CFA. An university degree shows your gameness and commitment to complete the engagement. There is no easy passageway out, if it is easy immediately, then the road is promising to be much difficult, subsequently. Just old word "no misery...no gain".
They are good lacking a degree. most employer just want the records and the skills. job experience would be of benefit as in good health.
you can probably get a tech employment with a records and no degree. but if you want a competitive computer brief (like, with a really high-profile company) or to eventually move up to administration, you'll need at tiniest a BA or BS. I would recommend getting a certification or an associates amount, work for a few years and then progress back for a bachelor's.
Yes you can embezzle a few Microsoft classes, there are a few classes you should own, an A+ Certification helps a great deal. The downside is that it takes seriously of trust in a being because you can lose thousands of hours of work with the push of a button. It take a lot of time but you can net 100+ an hour.

What is a fitting employment for an 11yr antediluvian to do contained by alpine?

Question:
any jobs will work! (alpine is a small retirement town)

Answers:
Babysit, courtyard work, paper routes, hold a lemonade stand/ car rinse.
Paper boy? Mowing lawns? There are things called child labor law that don't allow kids to work except for small jobs. Look for ethnic group members see if they hold chores for you or something.
Alpine, CA? http://www.alpinecalifornia.com/...

Probably retail work.
Of course it depends on where you are, but most job require you to be atleast 14 year old to work.

You should be capable of deliver papers and flyers.

When I was your age I mowed peoples lawns, racked leaves, help deweed gardens, shovelled driveways, etc.

Find something creative to do, or to help your neighbours out. Make a flyer to flog what you are willing to do, and be in motion out there and gain noticed.
whip out trash and sweep.
Here's a short list of job which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective nuptial parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through marriage ceremony planners at nearby churches and temple. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can glibly pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand address item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers surrounded by setting and arranging various individuals surrounded by group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of miscellaneous sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various matrimony pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local nuptials photographers and wedding planners, suitably. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are commonly invited to attend all dining events.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a pasture mower since there are any number of sanctuary issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within immediate residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that in that are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is within order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of pane cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid skylight cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle near an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, mind your Ps and Qs to limit the distance from the ground of the window cleaning to no sophisticated than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow labour of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any acceptance of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each bundle handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate beside the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a really long period of time to generate a waiting list, you want to grant the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any long-drawn-out period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can send for the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The name back tax is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head principle. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your charge schedule hard by the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will utility your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- commonly beyond the range of any inhouse page system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not help yourself to advantage of the connectivity to build the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at adjoining nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are incompetent to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The with the sole purpose downside is that one has to run precautions to wash one's hand after each feed. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The remunerated feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

How long is too long to not hear final from a prospective employer?

Question:
It's been a week today since my second interview. All go very economically during both interviews, and the 2nd even said he would definitely recommend me for a 3rd to draw together his boss.

I understand that Credit, Motor Vehicle, and Criminal Background checks are done as a business of procedure for this company, but I can't see that as a problem. My record is verbs. The only issue is credit, but it isn't bleak enough to not get hold of hired IMO.

So, am I just too anxious? Or should I be concerned? I'm thinking of sending an inquiry to the recruiter via email?

Thoughts?

Answers:
roughly 7 business days is normal. be proactive and produce a call or drop an email, it will show them you are prepared and able or it you do it repeatedly it might tick them bad so use commom sense.
Nothing you can do at this point will change the outcome. Forget around it, go on near your life, and believe me if they are interested, they will nickname you soon. Also, many family go on time off this time of year. Bad credit can't keep you from a opening if they really want you there.
Right in a minute YOU are the boss! apply to any place you want to work and YOU get to pick. Don't count on merely one outstanding prospect that has however to come through for YOU.

Any uinfo?Exps? Advice?

Hmmm...the pay leaves much to be desired, the hours are long, the work is backbreakingly difficult at times, and you catch to see a side of human nature that you really won't want to see. Most of the time, it can be strictly monotonous, too.

But, you get a fortune to help family in their hour of involve. You can be that person who make the difference between life and destruction for your patient. That fancy, that you really made a difference in someone's energy, makes adjectives of the other stuff worth going through.

Hope this helps...

Should I be honest beside my work experience?

Question:
I just graduate and have started applying for job. I wrote my own resume, and I'm not sure if I should be 100% honest with my work experience. I worked single for a week at a company and that was one year since I graduated and that be the last time I worked. I hold to put it on my resume since it is one of the only work experiences I ever have. For now I enjoy it as a two month period (yes, I lied). But if they do the setting check, I am afraid they might find out. What should I do?

Answers:
be honest at this point in your existence. what you could do is call that place you worked at and ask give or take a few your employment and if they have the reocrds of it, or enjoy a friend call resembling they were verify employment. some places have elevated turnover and there may be not a soul there who remembers you or where on earth the records are kept.
Okay you must mingy you are graduating large school not college.

Here is the unforced fix. Never lie on your resume. You can make tracks things out but dont lie. Just move off out the part that you enjoy work experience. ie no background check, here isnt anything to check. 1 week or 2 months work exp does nothing for a company.

Lying will grasp your **** fired. Just leave it blank. If they ask if you hold worked in your interview, you articulate I mowed some lawns, I shovelled my nieghbors driveway, I started this job that I didnt want. Nothing of importants so I didnt register it.

They will move on to the subsequent question.

***** UPDATE ******

Be intensely general, Say something approaching this. I was focused on college and my background. My work experience includes things such as working at my families company, I worked beside community in days gone by, Ive worked and provided services to help race. It can be extremely broad. Helping the lady across the street to me is better work exp next 1 week and McDonalds.
if you are going to list it, be honest. if they do a check on your reference, they are going to find out and you will NOT get hired. as long as you gone on fairly virtuous terms (ex- "hey this position isn't for me" vs... just not showing up). likelihood are they won't check considering you were solitary there a week.
Your best bet is to write a functional resume that highlights your skills versus a chronological resume that highlights your work history. A functional resume is great for population who have be out of work for a long period of time and recent grads.

Key facts...never lie because tons companies do check backgrounds and reference. Not all but you wouldn't want to be out of the see before you even procure an interview do you?
Go to where you work and ask them if they will afford you a reference. If so, use it, if leave it out, but use it if you can.
I would quit it off completely. If you dont enjoy ANY work experience have you done strange jobs, volenteer, sports or university leadership, events or customer service interaction. Many employer will over look not havin work experience if you are inthuizastic and personable. Its like have a blank palet to bold. However if you get caught within a lie you could get hold of a bad rep as all right as no job. Its best on a resume to be bewildered.
Be honest. They could find out very effortlessly just by running your SS# next to Social Security Administration to check on your past job. It's not worth it. But honestly, how did you get by in need having a assignment for over a year?
Always be honest on your work experience. Otherwise you're not trustworthy enough to hire.
Never deceit on any official document. It will be found out and you will reward the price for your deceitful schedule. Is that what school qualified you. To lie contained by order to gain ahead.

It's better to just not chronicle the job later to lie roughly speaking it. To be honest. Working for only a week doesn't even count as have a job. Did they fire you? Or did you meander out? Don't put that waste of time on your resume. What are you going to narrate them during the interview when they ask you what did you accomplish at your former job. What goal did you reach. What did you revise. You'll just enjoy to lie more.

If you lied in the order of length of employment you won't get the living, period.

Re-write the resume and stop lying.
Be HONEST! If the company call for a reference they will find out the truth and you are not going to return with an interview. What company wants a dishonest character working for them?

Is it best to keep hold of working at your current available job while seeking a modern one or quitting and hunting full time?

Question:
I am really burnt out on my current livelihood and am actively seeking new employment (I own been on a few interviews lately, am currently still sending out resumes, etc). I have hear in olden times that it's a really bad hypothesis to quit your current job while hunting because it looks discouraging to future employer. I know I will be quitting the job in this year since I am relocating with my significant other to the Washington DC nouns, and I was wondering if here is any hiring managers, recruiters, HR manager, etc. who could chime in on the subject. Is it best to maintain working at a job where on earth I feel adjectives out or better to quit, recharge, and devote myself to the job hunt (also substance that I would be free to interview and such whenever instead of having to work around a work schedule).

Answers:
If you can afford it,and present appropriate notice, support train your replacement...burn no bridges, you know...then help yourself to some time off...your human, not an autonomon...your hunt within a distant location for new employment, and for tolerable housing, is a valid reason for a unconscious spot in your employment history...
I utter keep the commission while hunting, you never know what may happen.
Lesson from Life: Never burn your bridges.

Do not move off a current job while looking for a up to date one.
Don't quit your job while you are looking!
ALWAYS best to jump from one job to another. When you own a job, you own much more freedom to say no, to choose. When you are on the dole - even if by your choice - you are just an additional unemployed personage looking for work.
Keep the job!

Or at smallest find a smaller side job--Even though it stinks, what on earth are you going to do if you can't find another one??

Think it through
keep hold of your job until you find a latest one, have to hold on to the money coming in
I would suggest to EVERYONE who have a job and is looking for another one to save their job, until it is unchangeable that you will be hired somewhere else. I've heard masses a time about someone sure they be going to get a assignment, so they quit and ended up not getting the other available job.
Unless you have abundantly of money in the hill or reason to assume that you're not going to be out of work for hugely long, I'd keep the paycheck coming within. It took me over a year to get my current undertaking.
Keep working. Quitting for no reason looks bleak to prospective employers. There is no defence to leave unless the livelihood is really awful. IF that is the luggage, find temping work, just maintain working.

Use agencies to do the looking for you, if you look for work full time, you will soon find you have profoundly of spare time!
A bird in the paw is better than two in the bush.
Keep your current profession until you find something better.
stay and hunt its better at interview to be *employable*
Keep the current job.
ALWAYS return with a new assignment before quitting your dated one.
I hear ya. Keep your current job and hold looking.

Look into employment firms that help place team, even for a fee, it might be worth it.
maintain the job while hunting.. i've done that earlier..i quit my job & have to wait close to 3 months till i started my new work..
keep your brief while you look for a new one.
alright you've already agree on to quit ,as a former employer. i would really and likely bestow a person time rotten for an interview, and please remember to give perceive,be fore quiting....
Don't quit your job but if you be aware of you need to drop down to leisure, if that is practicable, than do that before quiting. Like the wise saying goes Don't verbs your pitcher till the bull pin is warmed up.

with that, you'd be fine.
freshly answer whatever he asks.
articulate you don't know if you don't.

just be confident that you know what you're getting yourself into.
The boss is going to ask nearly your qualifications for the position. Make sure you deduce what the job entail and what will be expected of you. Also, know a little bit in the region of the company and its history.
