I live in a college town and everywhere I budge to apply for a job I other get matching old "you enjoy to be 16" or "you have to be18" It drives me crazy because I'm getting to the point where on earth I need to attain a job soon so I can earn money. I'm a smart 15 year matured guy. What makes nation think that I'm any smaller number capable than those who are 6 months elder than me? Anyone know of anywhere that will hire under 16? Part of the problem is that legitimately ( in my state of residence anyways) that people under the age of 16 cannot operate secure equipment in restaurants, get rid of cigarettes at a convenience store, or work past a persuaded time and has a demarcate on the hours allowed per day and week. Getting hired lower than 16 is hard. My daughter, 14, newly got her first position with Burger King, the tricky part is she can solitary work for 3 hours at a time, cannot work past 7pm at hours of darkness during school year, 8pm surrounded by the summer, and cannot do anything except cashier and verbs the dining area. Food service is a seriously CLEAN business--and if you look dirty or just dress similar to a slob--you will be judged as how they see you--and you will ot be working around food--dirty and sloppy. Dressing nice say you respect yourself--employers like that!! They integer you will have respect for the business and do a upright job--pride makes for apt teamwork. The company is a team--so look and achievement like a squad player. Sit up straight--keep your feet on the floor--speak when spoken to--LIKE AN EDUCATED PERSON. HI! The DC area is a glorious professional area. In my feelings from doing hiring to firing, it is critical that your first impression be professional no event what position you want to be hired to do and jeans are never appropriate. Honestly, I would never "send someone home" for wearing them, I would do the interview and consequently not hire them (unless they had a great explanation as to why they be in jeans :) --- possibly this is what happened at the store interview? Hopefully your resume will speak for itself and you will gain the FSW position. Sounds good that they tolerate you come back for an interview so only be polite and gracious and professional. You can't undo times past but work on redeeming your first impression near them thru your experience, being timely, have copies of your resume with you, individual clean and tidy contained by appearance but simple (perhaps a black skirt and clean white blouse) so as this will sustain to redeem your awkward first impression.
