Then find [in this example] publishing companies who own consistently produced good work. Do your research. Contact them. Take the initiative. Don't linger for them to contact you.

I would look on chicagos craigslist. You can get a existing good concept of the prices in the different neighborhoods and some of them you can grasp month to month and they wont check your credit. We have an apartment resting on our house in the burbs and we rented it via craigslist and didnt check credit.
