An employer can pretty much fire anyone, especially if you are surrounded by a "right to work" state as the guy below me stated. If you are in what the senate calls a "protected class" (women, minorities, seniors and handicapped) you could sue for nouns and probably win no matter what state you are within.
Even if you are in a right to work state, you could still collect job loss as like I said originally, it's not a vandalism of company policy nor can it be considered poor work performance, and specifically the only item an unemployment audible range would look at for the termination being merely.
Just because a garnishment causes "excessive paperwork" as someone stated below, i.e. still not a valid reason for termination.

Stick beside finishing up your college, and get your certs. If you plan on going into the IT field/PC work, your deployments and quality will not have a ton of immensity, so focus on what the civilian workforce will be looking for, which is experience, education, and certs.
