Only way to move about is to start off, literally at the foundations LOL> capture your work boots on, and go down to a worksite and ask the foreman for a living. Then struggle and strain, work and sweat, climb that ladder, tote that nouns, toil and ache as you revise how to use every dadgam tool in the construction-worker's arsenal, and every slick trick contained by the book of techniques. Then I don`t know, after ten years or so, you will have the erudition, the skills and the general expertise, to progress out there and contract work for yourself, and hire workers to clear up a crew.
Skill, honesty, integrity, and total performance will brand name you if you have them, and break you if you don't. Good luck.
I believe you enjoy to be a contractor to do that. Get a contractor license.


Sales Techniques?

I am especially looking for information on better ways to help sway a potential client away from a service they are already using minus coming across as desperate or "green".

Answers:
Just avoid asking them outright to switch. Tell them the benefits of this other system and don't put down their company. Let THEM see it.
A sales trainer I especially resembling is Tom Hopkins. I have used his methods successfully.
The biggest counsel I have is to find out what the client's desires are. Most people don't similar to being "sold"; however, if you know what the client wants/needs and you own a product or service that will fill that requirement, show the client how what you have is a honourable fit. As such, "know your stuff." Be able to provide the client near tons of information about how what you give will benefit him/her. If you do this the right way, you'll be see as more of a consultant than a salesperson.
If you don't want to sound 'green,' next sound confident. When I run across this situation, I will do the usual scouting something like price, service, etc. and I'll point out things that I believe make me a better selection.

But in the run out, you have to nouns like you don't NEED the business. By this, I suggest that you have to be capable of say confidently, "Well, I hope you verbs to get the service that your company deserves. If you ever quality like you're not, here's my card. I know I can provide the ability of service that you deserve."

And walk away.
Be confident within your product/service. One of my favorite lines for a new client is, "Give me your trust this one time, and I'll never hold to ask for it again." just be sure you can put a bet on up what you're selling this tactic leverages your reputation. Another good queue if you get the hunch the customer thinks you're pleading is "I don't need your business, I WANT your business" that tender the feeling of confidence but can come bad as arrogant to some customers. Know your people.
This is one of the best and oldest 'salesman' things you can do: Whenever you are chitchat to your client, in the put money on of your mind, act as if they enjoy already purchased whatever you are selling..and, you are solely telling them almost what they have already purchased! I know it sounds unusual, but I used to work with organization equipment salesman and one of them used this all the time and it really help his sales!!...
