Well its never too unpunctually to find some kind of available job.. even if you make one... but use this summers lesson to plan for subsequent. It will apply the rest of your life.
1) Plan for things that you know will evolve. Summer is a sure bet - each year til you graduate.. the best job get taken by the kids that did the planning. If you want to practice proverb 'want fries with that?' economically thats ok too.. but if you want a job i.e. fun, pays well and is something that you savour.. you got to seize there first next to a good bundle
2) At 16 your job opportunity are limited because of federal law. Best Buy is not going to hire you. (welcome to age discrimination kid.. ). This summer jump make a situation.
Get a bucket, a hose, some soap and some towels and start a car wipe business ...or something like that. (At $5 to $10 for a supporting wash, 5 hours a daytime will make you a LOT more consequently Best Buy AND you get to choose your own hours )
3) Don't forget to enjoy some fun along the way.. you hold a 'last summer' coming up soon.. make it one to remember (ask your Dad in the order of the 'Last Summer'.

Don't forget to speak to managers and clear phone calls. On the interview, I would not communicate them you're only looking for a factor time job, as they feasible won't want to train you if you're going to leave within 6 weeks or so.
