Need advice--going posterior to finish college--should I changeover job?
Question:
I'm 26 and want to go subsidise to college to finish my music ed. degree. My issue is this...I go to one of the CUNY schools and received 119 credit thus far but didn't finish due to death of my parents. Thus, I needed to stop and work. I've since changed jobs once and the position I have in a minute pays nicely for me as an architectural organization assistant. Plus, the benefits are great. In order for me to finish my level starting in the spring, (which would transport me at least three semesters total), I would want to change job. (To what job, I enjoy no idea because my level is nill so far.) However, I have nice experience doing what I'm doing and perceive I could get a couple of member time jobs doing that or two of different things. (Whatever pays the bills is my view). Anyhow, I'm alarmed to change job just to know how to take classes that are simply given during the day. I scrounging, what if it doesn't work out? I have no occupation yet. What would I do?
Answers:
Work contained by your school's music dept. AND work other school job(s) night and weekends that won't conflict with classes.
Sounds close to you also have adequate experience to be able to tutor other students at your university and maybe surrounded by secondary school in your nouns.
If you stick with your current duty and keep convincing yourself of excuses why you "CAN'T" finish, you probably won't finish.
If you really close to your present job, you could stay near it and take courses online or at hours of darkness (or just a reduced amount of classes per semester).
If your current job starts getting hoary, then you could start looking around for a leisure job--but benefits don't generally come near part-time jobs--at lowest not right away.
Does your current company have any other positions which are factor time or less days per week? That may be an great solution.
I wish you luck near your music ed. degree.
You can yak to your employer about this and they may enjoy some options for you. One, for example is that nearby may be a chance that they can work out a schedual for you. Also if you study at darkness, they can let you move about to work an hour later. You craft your schedule at the University and you choose the hours of your classes, but have a word to your employer, tell them of you going subsidise to study, and that you want to stay on this present job. Talking will sustain because options can be made and conceivably you can have privilages. So do this first. If you employer does not support out, then you may consider a different opportunity because for you to progress in vivacity, all job require BA, or MA., at least to capture a proper paying job that you resembling and want. Do not take 2 job because this will be a load on you and will interfere beside your studies.
Stop thinking so short term. What is the grounds for wanting the degree? Figure this out, afterwards go from within. Is it really so hard to win up early and work belated? Isn't it worth it if you really want the degree?
Yes transport online classes. I would not quit your job if it offer some really good benefits.

I involve money?
Question:
i don't want to work for the summer(can't find a job, sick of looking) i want to wallow in my summer. Do you recommend taking out a loan? if so, how should I go something like doing this?
Answers:
If you have no duty, you would need to put up your home, motor, etc. in writ to get a loan. The other likelihood would be getting a co-signer with obedient credit. Realize though, that if you fail to formulate your loan payments on time, they will hold the money from that co-signer.
Are you willing to run out a title loan on your vehicle? A second mortgage on your home? Part with anything else of efficacy? Ask a relative or friend to co-sign for you?
Even if you did put up your car or home, you still may not carry the loan--because you have no source of income.
I choice you well--I don't know how you can get the money, though--without a hassle...
Take out a loan instead of working? How would that work? I don't deem anyone would give a loan to someone who does not enjoy a job.
At what point would you start working and payment back the loan? How did you reimburse your bills last month, or the month beforehand that, or the month before that...
That freshly makes no sense.
Grow up...
You own a slim chance of getting a loan lacking a job. And here are plenty of jobs out near if you are not picky.
If you don't want to work durring the summer. Work hard surrounded by the winter and save your money.

What work track is best for a creature surrounded by their hasty forties?
Question:
I am seeking to go to arts school. I am in my rash forties and prefer the legal enclosed space. Can any one tell me which trade path I should thieve, in establish to fulfill job schooling requirements within a few years time?
Answers:
how in the region of becoming a paralegal? It takes a couple of years but the opportunity for a good paralegal are excellent. They earn anywhere from $35K - $80K and that's not impossible for a two year degree w/ some elbow grease and a suitable work ethic and it's a growing field as those of us within the legal profession own to cut expenses in the department to survive.
The time travel field, rear to you r teens where you made adjectives your bad decision that you are paying for now.
step to law university
property or health insurance
I would suggest since your entering the workforce a bit belated , id own to say you should study to become a paralegal.
If you're interested within the legal enclosed space, a paralegal is a great option. Or if you are perfect at typing, check into something along the lines of court recording. Either one should enjoy a reasonable amount of schooling (a few classes to a couple of years, depending) and enjoy good opportunity.
You don't say what pasture you have be in, and what your current height of education is.
If you own a bachelors, and want to go to statute school, you can do that surrounded by about three years -- but plan on mortal a solo practitioner or starting your own firm as many firms don't hire elder associates.
If you don't already have a bachelors, I agree beside the posters about a paralegal. Most of them can do nearly as much as an attorney surrounded by some firms.
Good luck in your profession change. I own been thinking of doing like peas in a pod myself.
Is a CV different than a resume?
Question:
I know the basic difference between a CV and a resume, i know the cv is concerned of more detailed, right?
I'm applying for work for a company in the UK and person asked for a CV i'm trying to decide if i can a short time ago send them my standard resume i've other used in the US or if i should repress it and make it a detailed CV...
Any suggestions would be appreciated, also, if anyone would take place to have any links to any standart European CV examples, probably for film/production work, i would really appreciate those.
thanks
Answers:
Not really. Resume is more of a US English residence, while Curriculum Vitae (CV) is more of a UK English term.
Search on "Curriculum Vitae" for honourable sources, or go here:
http://jobsearch.roughly.com/od/curriculum...
I've hired people contained by the US and the UK using both terms interchangeably.
Resumes are traditionally just one page and are for people looking for a "regular" work. A CV is typically multiple pages long and is used by experts and consultants to aquire clients.
probably - I've never have my car go amiss an mot with a out of order resume joint!
CV's are used within the academic world and the picture industry would be similar in that adage:
Professor: 1990-2000 at such and such U
or
Producer. 1990-2000 at such and such studio
doesn't tell you much save for they got a paycheck for their work. Both of these professions and the citizens in them are judge by the work they produce. They need to state Titles of Papers or works written, Conferences attended, prizes won to convey their level. Going by the resume you might not see how great Steven Spielburg is compared to other employed directors.
I also think of them as individual more public. Often seen online so students can vista and make decision about where on earth they want to go to conservatory.

Software Engineer Questions?
Question:
1. What do I need to do to become a Software Engineer?
2. Is Software Engineering illustrious stress?
3. What is the entry level net like?
Answers:
Entry-level programmers typically aren't call Software Engineers. They're just call programmers or developers. As you progress in the occupation field you will earn titles resembling "Software Engineer" or "Software Architect"
1. You'll need a 4-year level in a computer pen, preferably with an stress on programming. You'll also need to surpass the certification exams for your style of choice. MCPD if you choose .NET or SCJD if you choose Java, etc.
2. It can be high stress. It's a project-oriented work field, so there's a ton of meeting, deadlines, you own business leaders hovering around you wanting to see something, you'll dance back to the drawing board several times, etc. It can be really annoying. Most days I want to stab anyone near the job title of "Business Analyst" or "Project Manager"
3. Salaries are excellent. Around $40K to start and you can acquire into the $80K/$90K range inwardly 5 to 10 years. You'll top out around $110K. So, you're salary increases at the double but caps rotten quickly too.
Also, it's sort of a reverse age nouns career enclosed space. That is, the older you achieve the less potential people are to hire you to program. It have to do with the hot childlike programmers seeming more cutting circumference than the gray-haired dinosaurs. It's completely unfair, but that's the process it is. So, you're going to want to get into regulation before you hit your behind schedule 30s/early 40s.

A bachelor of science in computer science or a BSCS scope.
It can be high stress. It adjectives depends on where you work. Usually, smaller startups hold to work hard and long hours, to net the business successful. Larger companies generally are not as stressful. That is of late a rule of thumb, and not always true. Also, the rewards of man with a startup company that succeeds can be exceptionally great. With a large company, commonly the only point you can expect is a salary.
Entry stratum salaries swing by location first, and responsibilities second. You can expect upper $30k/year to lower $40k/year.
[EDIT]: I have to disagree near Chad's response concerning "language certification". For solid projects, that may be necessary. For the inestimable numbers of other software engineers (including embedded, applications, GUI, etc. . .) no records will ever be asked for.
It would pay for you to investigate what paddock of software engineering you would like to enter, and determine what the entry rank requirements are for that field. Most plausible, the BSCS will be all that is to say required.

Contrary to what other people say-so, if you call more than once, you will be view as a desperate pest.

How much does a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology net monthly?
Question:
Answers:
That depends on where they live. Some places, big cities, own higher wages than rural areas. Also, most of the trades solely make money when they work. A plumber may form $35 per hour so you would think that would be $70K/year but if within are only job that allow work for and average of 20 hours a week, then the income would be just $35K. Same for HVAC techs, mechanics, electricians, etc. If they work for a big enough company next they are likely employed most of the time and product a decent living.
I don't know exact numbers, but the guys who work within HVAC where I work...engender a pretty darn good living.
3000CDN
the ones that grasp into the sales of the unit can make a huge some of money . the ones that repair or install them cause less but can earn a living really . i would say something like low average income.

Long Commute=Bad Employee?
Question:
Is it possible to be a good hand and have a well brought-up career if you enjoy to commute 60 miles to work each daylight, m-f?
Answers:
Commuting should have no hard work on performance unless the human being is lacking sleep. In any event several general public I work with do long commutes and are pious employees. Sorry personnel will perform poorly regardless of their commute.
yes i drive over 80 miles a daylight.
Not sure what your commute has to do near what kind of member of staff you are.
Sure it's possible. Why wouldn't it be?
Sure, why not? Where you live and where you work do not enjoy to be one and the same for a individual to be a good member of staff.
My commute isn't quite as long (40 miles to work), but I haven't see it as anything that fits into the equation where work my see is concerned. The only entry that I've found my commute to have an impact on is my own time. My work hasn't suffered at adjectives.
It depends on the person. I used to commute in the order of 60miles 5 days per week to and from school. The impending traffic made it too difficult for me to commute. If in attendance were no traffic and you drive at 75miles per hour soundly than the commute might not be too bad.

Contact your local courts and law firms. They stipulation translation services all the time. I recommend getting certified as a translator. You may also want to combine this near Notary services. You can become a Notary in a single hours of daylight or over a few weekends. Notaries verify identities and exploit as witnesses to signed contracts. Good Luck.
Freelance? Contact your local Court System (prosecuting attorneys often require translators) and the local police dept.
Have resumes available showing your credentials. Post resumes on-line and button hole/apply at large/medium sized corporations for leisure translation services. Don't forget to apply at other government agencies too...govt is in need a doubt, the largest user of translators there is.
Interview Advice?
Question:
Background: In 2006 I was an intern for this nonprofit body. Now they are hiring for the same position I be interning, and after completing 2 "mock" projects for them, the chances of an interview are dignified. My mentor is the head of the hiring staff, so I am idea good nearly the interview. I'm not giving my hopes up, but I'm proud of the work I put in for them.
Now, I own a 2 year old and be still in college at the time. I have to spend nearly 3 weeks in the hospital, but I still went on to finish that semester (13 hours) near a 4.0 and graduated within 3 years c.um laude.
As great as this job is, it comes at an awkward time--I'm 8 months pregnant. I applied for this profession mainly because we enjoy nothing to lose, and you never know what could evolve.
Now I'm preparing questions and such, but I requirement advice:
How do I approach the pregnancy? What standard advice could you impart me?
(Continued)
Answers:
Good questions!
I have a sneaking suspicion that in the completion honesty always pays rotten. They can not discriminate against you for being pregnant but they can find another aim NOT to hire you.
You have worked next to them in former times and that could be in your favor. Let them know your plans, just about your last pregnancy and that you do plan to return to work shortly after child is born and daycare is already set up.
Let them know that you believe you are the best candidate for this position and that you are avid to learn and donate your best. Be confident but not over confident! Most of all be yourself and be honest.
Good luck and I do hope that you acquire the job.
If you stir for your interview, they are not even ALLOWEed
to ASK if you are pregnant.
Employers are not allowed to ask if you are pregnant or not, otherwise it could be nouns. But seeing as how you are 8 months pregnant, it might be a little open. You mentioned you do not want to take disappear for your Pregnancy. However, it will be very difficult to come support to work, even just a week or 2 after giving birth. Most doctors recommend at smallest 6 weeks after giving birth. You should just be honest near the employer, but keep within mind that you will most likely requirement to take some time rotten.
How can I find out what manner of carrer I am best suted for?
Question:
Answers:
Try going to a employment agency. They do test to see what you approaching, what you're good at and they work next to you to see what career best suits you. Good luck.
typing and spelling. biddable luck with that
Nothing where on earth you have to spell!
Based on your interview, now would be a righteous time to explore doing things that you enjoy doing. If you approaching animals for example, go to work for a veterinarian to see if you approaching it. Or, if you like human being outdoors, look for a job that will keep hold of you out side.
My opinion, look for something you savour doing and can earn a paycheck. That's the only road you will find out what you are best suited for.
