Well I "dumbed down" my resume to get an executive assistant position as I be out of the workforce a long time. I couldn't believe what the avg salaries are for exec assts so I needed to try it and did land a position working for a CEO.

I used to have my own secretary LOL. I did a functional resume, one t headdress highlighted skills instead of titles and positions, dates and put my tuition at the end.. Made it massively easy to interview as relatives were usually more interested surrounded by what I could do for them and didn't focus on my previous titles, salary or anything.

There is no canon that you can only own one resume, I used SIX versions surrounded by myjob search depending on what I be applying for.

i'm interested in a couple of things. when i be much younger i wanted to be a singer, but i don't give attention to that's possible now. Then second year i took a class on accounting and i was realllly interested surrounded by it. It took me 6 months to swot all the ins and outs of an in-house software program we hold (it's VERY difficult and my co-worker and I went through 2 weeks of training classes for it). Then, my boss expected me to train her on it as all right as her assistant. Hello? Take a class. We did.

On the other hand, the self-centred side of me thinks that you still hold some control here. You can teach her newly enough to attain by, but she will never really know as much as you do if she never takes the class. That opening you can always hang on to yourself one step ahead of her.

I feel your headache! Been there done that when I retired from the Navy. I believe their are several reason all open-handed of linked to respectively other. We are experience a "time" covering 3 generational profiles. Baby-boomers, Gen X, and Gen Y, which all enjoy different work ethics, perception about what they are entitled to, and what a starting position should rate as well as what horizontal that starting position is.

Also the State/Fed laws and taxes roughly speaking what employers "Have" to provide and wages severely stress many foreign businesses. Even some of the larger businesses feel the impact. Insurances, Paid time past its sell-by date , Relocation, Background checks, Advancement, etc, etc all cost money. And the point of have a bussiness is to make money...but the pie slices preserve getting smaller.

Also we have folks who I wont profile, that will work longer for smaller number pay. As in good health as elderly/semi retired folks who will work part time vice a full time position. Doesn't that trademark better sence in the numbers crunch?

These and other factor like the distress of "Over Qualified" folks getting a better paying job somewhere else then...teehee or replacing the person they work for own made finding the perfect opportunity an impossible dream. (Most of the time) I don't believe there is one group, subdivision of society's evolution, or governments to blame, but a combination of them adjectives.

Just to let ya know how frustrated I be when I retired and spent the 3-4 months job hunting...I served the country for 20 years contained by th U.S. Navy and had oodles places I applied tell me I be not bilingual, so no hire! You might want to look at starting your own home base business. Understand it's a business, not a job. There are some start up costs, newly like if you be to start up a McDonald's. But it's a fraction of the cost, and without the skipper aches. There are several things you can do to own an income and be able to stay home near your child. A lot of mom's are getting involved in home base business's. One thing you can do is start up your own Daycare Center. It's not babysitting any. It can be designed the way you want it to be. I would say do the Journeymen Wiremen Apprentiship. There is other a demand for Electricians. Husband have been In The IBEW Local 100 for 9 years.. He go in w/o have to go to academy.. he already had the hours below his belt from previous exp as an electrician. You can look into going to work as a apprentice and go to academy at night. It sounds crazy but worth it.. There are also grouping dues and such but still worth it. There are politics but the benifits out weigh them ... He has a accurate job works for a great company and the wages are great... Look into it. I craving you the best.. Where r u from..
