why does starbucks solely hire associates who's 16 or elder?

Question:

Liability issues... If you're under 16 you can't touch anything hot or sharp or climb a stepladder because of child labor laws. So it would gross more sense for a company to hire someone over 16 who can do those tasks and they don't have to verbs about you accidentily getting hurt doing something that you shouldn't be.

Other Answers:
because thats the trial requirement and child labor is illegal?

Because they cant sue a minor if you spill hot coffee on the customers!! In most states, you are singular allowed to hire people 16 and up if they enjoy to work with any sort of appliance. It's a risk factor. You'll be sturdy pressed to find a job that allows the hiring of relatives under 16.

Too heaps rules to hire those under 16 surrounded by most states. It costs to much to administer.

It's the law; as contained by, child labor law.

Under 16 is subject to child labor law. Well the Starbucks that's in the S.Kroger that I run have a elderly man working the counter although here area some immature ones working there too. Perhaps they hire more younger to uphold their imitation.

Child labor laws and company policy

Child labor law and OSHA laws (safety agency). ANY type of powered device requires you to be 18 to be employed. We found this out when my 17 yr. old attempted to find a brief and a grocery store told us even a box knife (razor knife) used to undo boxes and then stock shelves is technically a powered device and requires the user to be 18.

I agree with the previous posters... but I'm 14 within the USA and Starbucks looks like an excellent place to work. There may be reason for this ... the company may have a policy. In Ontario, this is not age nouns as age is described as being 18-65. That may fine-tuning soon though with several of the onslaught of suits dealing next to children's issues.

Other Answers:
The conferral guy was nice!

They hold good food, pricey. I know that the drivers/delivery family work very long hours. It be fun! I loved their chicken pot pie and orange sherbert/vanilla rime cream. The man who we ordered from was extremely friendly and he and my dad used to reach a deal after the buisness was completed. We haven't see them around in a few years because we stopped order, but I've had individual good experiances next to them.

The only impossible thing be they had watermelon sherbert rime cream with chocolate 'seeds' within it and, one summer, stopped making it. It was the best and, alas, it's gone.

Oh, they are fantastic! They used to come to our house once a month! Their rime cream was certainly delicious! Sure miss the service.

When you are remunerated semi-monthly when are you rewarded?

Question:Bi-weekly is every two weeks but what is semi-monthly?

Answers:
Usually on the 15th and 30th of each month.

Other Answers:
same

Its something that doesnt exist. I parsimonious, semi-monthly would mean every other month....but not a soul gets salaried once every two months. It is supposed to mean matching as bi-monthly. Bi-weekly means twice a week, not a month! Are you sure you don't scrounging bi-weekly? Which would be every two weeks or just on the 15th and 30th.

Depends on the employer - I have a job where on earth I was salaried on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.

Work Breaks?

Question:Ok im 16 and i work at a restauraunt in ohio does any one know any of the break law for ohio i know after 5 hours you are required to a 30 minute break but do you have to clock out for it my work any never gives me a break after 6 hours or give me one but makes me clock out its pretty stupid..

Answers:
Clocking out is a path of easily determining how much time you spent on your break. Plus, bona fide spread periods (typically persistent at least 30 minutes), serve a different purpose than coffee or snack breaks and, thus, are not work time and are not compensable.

No provision surrounded by either federal or Ohio decree requires an employer
to give workforce any routine time off during the work shift for such things as a lunch term or breaks.

The single exception is found in Ohio鈥檚 Child Labor Law, which prohibits an employer from working a minor for more than
five straight hours minus affording the minor at least a 30-minute break.

Other Answers:
Most places gross you clock out for any breaks over 15 minutes. Welcome to the real world.

Yup - sounds pretty typical.

Generally when you work within a resturant you don't really get breaks.

Them's the breaks.

Some companies require organization clock out as a way to show they are truly taking their breaks and lunches. Other companies only require clocking out for lunches.

Many companies distribute their employees two 15 minute breaks during the time, but there are others that allow for one 30 minute break. Either style, being asked to clock out isn't anything unknown or unusual.

Asking for a living at 14?

Question:How do you really know when a place is hiring? Especially when you're just 14? I niggardly, do you just dance up to a person working within and say "hey you guys hiring at 14?" ?

Answers:
Go up and ask for an application..stuff it out and see what happens. Try several places. I worked first doing catering, afterwards at Arby's when I was 14....both be fun, and it was nice to own the cash!

Good Luck!

P.S. some polite tips....if you don't hear back inwardly a few days, call and ask if they hold reviewed your application, and if they are still hiring. Express your interest. This shows initiative! If you do this (even though it can be awkward), it'll give you an slither over other applicants. If you get asked for an interview, dress trimly, speak well, and preserve your answers customer-focused.

Other Answers:
not many employment option at 14.

but try web nouns. Nobody needs to know your age.
that would be your best bet, i really dont have a sneaking suspicion that that too many places are going to hire at 14, i lug it you are a girl so i dono about mowing lawns but explicitly always pious or just doing job around the neighboorhood for xtra money like vehicle washing or something approaching that, you probally wont beable to get a livelihood until 15.
You can always be in motion up to the counter at various places and ask what's the minimum age someone have to be to work there. In my hometown, the simply place actively hiring 14-year-olds was McDonald's and several society I knew worked within from that age on. There's nothing wrong near asking even if they say no, and it lately might get you an application hand to you! :)
You can first ask if they are accepting applications, and if they are ask what age they hire at. That way you won't catch your hopes let down if they hire at 18, and you own already filled out an application.
Just be warn that it will take a few tries to acquire a job, so apply at plentifully of places. Its hard plenty trying to find a job at 16...

Good Luck!
when i be fourteen i called but i could not find one place to work at and presently im 15 and i work at a restruant but if you find a job it wont be a actual, real assignment like the ones that you enjoy a set schedule and procure like $5 an hour it will be something resembling baby sitting, weekly girl or something that is temp. next to a different amount of pay.....BELIEVE ME I KNOW
never at your age

alhough u can pick up one at an office...sorting weekly or mail....or groceries by packing the food...but they are not going to hire anybody who is lower than 16 due to legal circumstances
Try asking ancestral members and parent's friends if they will hire you.
in good health i really doubt they'd hire you if you were 14. 15, I don`t know. 16, for sure( that is if you qualify)
Hey, where on earth I live, some of the fast food restaurants and grocery stores hire 14 year olds. You may want to check near. :) Just ask if theyre hiring, and wait until you stuff out the application and turn it in and permit them be the ones to bring up your age. They may not have a problem near it.
They're not hiring. All you can do is babysit (yeah, you're tired of hearing that) or, the better route, find an establishment specifically family owned, similar to a small restaurant, etc. They may hire you and pay you change. It's what I had to do.
At 14 years of age, you may not find conventional employment i.e. legitimate because contained by most states you must be at least 16 years of age to achieve a work permit. However, beside your parent's help it may be possible for you to earn some extra currency. Ask them to pay you for chores and/or tasks that they usually achieve on a regular basis. There may be several "jobs" you can do around your home. Also, ask other relatives, people friends, and neighbors. Perhaps you can do for them some of the same tasks you do for your parents. Of course, you will want to spawn sure your parents know and approve of you working for others or in the homes of others.
Also judge about your talent. Perhaps you have some skills that you can put to use as an entrepreneur. If you are creative, maybe you can decorate wearing apparel and trade it as designer merchandise, etc. Ask your parents for ideas and check out some books on the subject. I hope you product enough money to payment for your school clothes subsequent fall.
I conjecture what a 14 yr old can do for making money is to work at your local library. as far as i know they are other hiring. most fast food resturants hire 14 yr olds too. try kid sitting, its fun and u'll make great money, mostly during th weekend!!

Question:How much do interior designers get per hour or month?

Answers:
I don't exactly enjoy a lot of experience, but I would reason that would depend on a lot of factor. What area you're working at, if you're working on middle class homes, upper class homes, the rich of the rich...and if you hold a degree that lend itself to that kind of entity (I'm sure there are university that offer degree in interior design. Otherwise art, culture, etc.) .

I'd suggest getting a better impression if you want to do it on a small scale (no point, middle class) or large mount (a degree, upper or rich class houses).

Hope this help at least a bit ^^;

Other Answers:
It depends on the nouns and what field they are working surrounded by. Here where I live (VA) interior designers at the furniture stores trade name about 40000 a year, but if you own your own company later you could make more or smaller number. It just really depends on where on earth you live.

It depends on the job, the amount of work, the designer...at hand are a lot of factor, everyone is different They do OK once positioned in a biddable market !
