There are various things you can do to get your written stories/messages/poetry across.
I would suggest any number of things that can work. Try getting a website online where on earth you can store and showcase some of your written work. I would definitely have a chat to some of the reporters and journalists surrounded by your area and ask them question about their mission, how they receive the information they do, and what inspires them to write.
Try everything you suggested (online, post, local newspapers, magazine etc) and see what works best for you. Mingle next to as many citizens as you can and direct them to places (like the website) where they can read your work.
Finding places where on earth you can get on stage to read your poetry is also a great outlet/resource if there's something close to that available out there (I'm not really sure but ask around - conceivably there's a program somewhere that can help you out).

I'm currently an Air Force officer. I love it. It's something I've worked rugged to be and wanted to do for 20+years. Unfortunately, the AF is down-sizing and I'm getting out after merely 3. :( On the positive side, I'll go work for a establishment contractor and do pretty much the same piece.
Find something you can do so you can live comfortably, be happy, competent to support yourself/family- and feel similar to you're making a real positive difference within the world. Yes! I work with customers explaining products, answering question, and helping them place orders for Cutco cutlery. I also work near new representatives. The products are great and my customers and coworkers are awesome. I love the pay packet; I was competent to pay my agency through college and graduate with money save. It's great because the job is fun and flexible, and provides great experience because we work on international skills such as communication skills, time management, and dream setting. Although because of my experience with the company I've gotten other opening offers, I'm in good spirits here and wouldn't want to do anything else :)

My first thought is if the company terminate you before the 3 years will you still own to pay the $24k or pro-rated to the agency? Read through your contract for the details. Unless your agency hold a really good purpose getting you to pay e.g. compensated for your training etc.. Otherwise it is unfair. A contract is an agreement and by ruling should be fair to both sides.
Legal, dubious, unfair or fiesta - I would go to Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to solicit and see if these kind of contracts are allowed.
