Question:I have intended to rob the CPA exam when I compete by BS in accounting within March 07. Just recently, Minnesota changed the requirements - You can pocket the exam after 120 credits (my BS degree), but now to gain credentials, you must have 150 credits (along beside work requirements, ongoing CPE education, etc.)I've looked into MBA school, many of which within the Minneapolis area require 5 years of professional work experience formerly being standard.
My main query, then - Will taking the CPA exam after graduation (BS degree) be beneficial to me? (job availability, reimburse rate, etc.) Will it make myself more desirable within the job open market having a BS and "passed the CPA exam" on the resume, as dead set against just have the BS degree? (even though here will be no CPA cerfication / licensure for a while?)

Passing all four section of the CPA exam takes a LOT of intricate work and preparation.....fewer than 10% of candidate pass adjectives four sections on the first try. I'm not sure what you would do for money if you quit your job so I can't donate you a complete answer. I assume that you must have something to fall down back on if not you wouldn't even ask the question.
I would suggest you find a fellow student who is also a single parent (it doesn't enjoy to be a mom; it could also be a dad) and pool your resources. You'd be able to split childcare costs. On weekends, one of you could transport both kids on Saturday while other studies, then switch on Sunday.
I would urge to you try to stay contained by school if at adjectives possible (i.e. if staying in academy doesn't mean that you'll starve).
