It really depends on what you want from a job. Many nation enter EMS because they think the initials stand for "Earn Money Sleeping". They ponder they just sit around a station until a hail as comes in and after rush out, work it and then jump back to watching TV.
Being an EMT or Paramedic is rock-hard work. After a few years of doing it your knees and back hurt. I am sure by in a minute your feet hurting after a long shift and your back from lifting relations. Imagine doing it for 5 or 10 years. Most paramedics and EMTs do not really last that long. The body starts to jump before the mind.
And it can hurt the mind. The first time you enjoy a call near a dead or injuried child due to a drunk driver. When you are trying to relieve people who are aggression you. When family and friends blame you for a disappearance or doing anything they cannot understand.
I honestly do not want to discourage you from this profession, purely go into it beside both eyes open. It is not for everyone...but it can be for you. Just because others complain, does not indicate you might not really enjoy it.

And oh, yes... all the above REALLY depends on where on earth you work. If you are with a private ambulance company doing lenient transport (AKA: Granny Calls), in a small rural nouns, a huge city, working out of a hospital, etc. etc. With the traiining of a Paramedic you can work in several different areas and might find the perfect place for you to be.

to me near a job close to that, you have to want to be surrounded by the position of helping people and seeing things that are not average. it takes a special type of individual to work at a job close to that
It's a very difficult post and hard workforce to be within. People hate you, all the same you are trying to help them. It's pretty regretful really. You have to referee the positives versus the negatives. If helping populace is a strong enough vehemence for you to be able to overcome the prejudice you will receive (which I don't really understand) after it's probably worth it. good luck. It's a particularly noble profession.
