If, however, you were, or are, a philosophy foremost in a college or university, in that are a couple of possibilities. Other than learning, and writing, there really aren't any "philosophy jobs". People beside philosophy degrees can do lots of different things though. Because the point stresses critical thought and often times algebraic skills, it has become one of the better bachelors degree to receive when applying to graduate programs. Over the last few years several MBA programs, regulation schools, and medical school have be recruiting philosophy former students.

I'm trying to follow up an a undertaking interview and I want to convey an E-mail. or should I nickname them ?

Question:I'm trying to follow up an a job interview and I want to dispatch an E-mail or call them.
I'm worried something like how to word it. What should I say ?
I'm afraid I'll gain nervous on the phone thats why I be thinking about sending an E-mail
Thank's , I appreciate it.

Answers:
An email, or I'll suggest a regular memorandum, would be more appropriate.

A phone call may produce you look you as if you are unsecure of yourself or of your skills and attributes. Also, it may be risky and somebody may take the opportunity to ask follow-up question for which you may not be prepared to.

The letter or email may start near something like this:

"I'll close to to thank you for your time during my interview at (ZZZZZZ Company) and for the opportunity to consider me for the (XXXXXX) position.

I hope you'll find that my skills and experience in (YYYY area) would be beneficial to help out (ZZZZZ Company) to (whathever is applicable here, such achieve strategic goal, growth, or to expand business bla bla bla).

I'm sure (ZZZZZ Company) with its core values and working environment is an excellent place to work for, and this position represents a great opportunity for me to ensure growth and nouns in the (YYYY area).

If you own follow-up questions or would resembling to contact me please don't hesitate to communicate to me using the following contact information:

Bla bla bla
Bla bla bla

Sincerely,
ZXZBXZZXN

Other Answers:
you really should nickname.

Call.Sounds old fashioned, but it truly shows more respect. i would read aloud email them. Make sure to sound professional and dont misspell anything. affix ur name and number at the bottome of the email. <simply incase they want u to call insted> they will have a sneaking suspicion that much more of u then a fidgety desperate guy lookin for a job. plus they reflect on u know ur way around compts..but it is respectfull to ring but like i said..dance for the "smarter" look..

A e-mail can be good and bleak, I feel the best infer is to call them to show interest. A e-mail does not show that personnal touch, remember that you go in to see them so they would remember your voice more so than an e-mail.

Call them. Take a minute to write what would be your email and consider it the introductory peice of the phone conversation. Just verbs that "intro" piece with an unequivocal ended interview that gives you a break to emphasize your strengths. Confidence is knob. A little nervousness is your ally, purely think, next speak slowly as you reply. Good luck!

Set down and write it out, letting them know how much you enjoyed, discussion to them about the situation. When to your liking, put it on a card and dispatch it to them. A couple days later hail as them, to let them know your still interested within the job. Mail take about three days, so waite at smallest five days before calling. Good luck on your untried job. Call. If they're anything approaching me- they never get the casual to check their e-mail!

How do I work along side beside a boss who dominates inhabitants into agreeing near him?

Question:

Answers:
If you are not a "YES Person" it will not be easy. So a bit then stressing yourself out and growing antiquated quickly, plan on departing that job. The longer you lurk, the worst things get. Your boss can already notify you don't like his methods. Further, if this boss of yours have been retained by the company, at hand is a good providence the company shares his way of doing things. I own found some companies believe in the flawless old military road of doing things, (my way or the highway). They sometimes try to bring back their employees to agree next to them, because they read a book, that told them that they would get better results if their personnel supported managements decisions. Your best bet is to find somewhere explicitly more agreeable with your humour.

Keep in mind this direction is coming from a male. Many of us men, don't own the best people skills or the patients or even the desire required to buy and sell with this type of entity or company.

Good Luck

P.S. Some people, because of set opportunities elsewhere, choose to be a thorn, while running the company dry: Don't throw away your life, you solely get one.

Other Answers:
He isn't the one who dominates, you are the one who let him dominate you. Don't.
Well, he is the boss and that's probably why he is the boss. Don't get into a dialog beside him. Do your work as instructed and leave it at that.
If he is in the dark he will not see your point of view. If you cannot agree near him, you will live the worst nightmare of your life at work. .. Quit.
Use the aikido method. When he pushes, contribute nothing for him to push at adjectives. You can still disagree with him, a short time ago accept adjectives his stances and continue to read aloud, I dont agree. This will force him to take another stance, one where on earth he will have to draw together you and your ideas to formulate contact with you.
Stand strong i work near one myself and if hes wrong i will prove it, it has cause us to bump heads a few times but strong arming the organization not for the good of the bureau is bad desperate business. Or quit and find a new chore. but the search for the unflawed boss will never end until your the boss.
Get him to contemplate what you want him to do was his impression.
Many of us have bosses who are dictators. What u entail to do is ensure that you get what you call for to do done on time. In totting up look out for things that ur boss might have overlooked and put together bright suggestions. dictators hate to be shown up and will eventually want to cling to you a bit than dictate. It has worked for me. All the best.
You gotta hope that eventually he will run the company into the ground, and afterwards you will all be out of work, or you can quit now and find a duty where workers have a direct input to the operation: democratic versus autocratic.
Any boss who doesn't want input from his employees is not a apt boss. Give him your ideas, and if he won't listen, there's zilch you can do. That's why they call him the boss.

If that's too frustrating, you can try conversation to human resources, but it rarely works. Most HR departments know who their problem manager are, and aren't willing to address the issues. If you can't transport it, you'll have to find another work.
First you have to ask yourself if he's dominating or if you are accommodating. If you know you are right, but don't want to jeopardize your profession, firmly state your position in a course that does not seem insubordinate, but avoid seeming "childish" around it. Ultimately, you must take into report that your job is not give or take a few personal inter-office relationships, but about the bottom procession, whether in retail or professional organization settings. Be focused on how you perform your profession and the success of the company, and, if your boss crosses the file, rest assured that it will not go unnoticed by higher-ups.
Art of period of war states if your enemy is of choleric annoyance, irritate him. but be careful, he's your boss and not another co-worker. do not disagree simply to disagree. disagree when appropriate and support it up with reason why. if he is a good boss, he will see you're not a pushover, brown noser, yes man (or woman). ultimately it is his judgment so he just may be on a power trip. if he have a higher up, irritate him until he blows and his principal will see or hear about that.
be strong, and don't be afraid to update him when you disagree with him!

describe him when you think his design won't work, and why. he maybe looking for someone to disagree beside him, it maybe his road of trying to get different concept

if he has a problem next to it, go over his herald to his boss,

tell him to grow up!

or better on the other hand, i'll tell him on behalf of your co-workers, i'll vote anything to anyone, i've no fear!
Two option for you :

if you truly have no respect for him afterwards get him alone and enlighten him you are gay...tell him you are worried going on for fitting in near everyone else..then he won't try to dominate you for horror of a lawsuit....

or

Tell him that if he does not stop being such an *** you are going to report him to the Labor Department for sexual harrassment.
With a extra twosome of eyes and ears in the put money on. While he or she
likes you , they will try to do matching with you. If they establish they
made a mistake having you work along side of them, consequently you will
be the target of your boss with adjectives of their minions.
I work with a adjectives workforce that are minions to a dominating
boss. I have never be a yes em person no wonder I am other
on the outs, with everyone else who will crucify me when I do not
agree give or take a few something. Its tough but everyone needs to work
for a living and job sometimes are scarce. Keep a clean trunk
and don't talk roughly speaking anyone else and you might do well.
First, you hold my sympathy. If the boss is so power-hungry, will do anything to move up and is so unreasonable and manipulative to the point of hindering your work or moving you or anyone else out of her/his course to attain their "sick" goals, find out quick! I know how not easy that is but if it's really doomed to failure, this boss will win somehow. Maybe not forever but maybe long adequate to destroy you.
Source(s):
A really doomed to failure devastating experience.

Can your employer require you to seize dream therapy if you own a drug or alcohol charge?

Question:

Answers:
Depending on what type of work you do, if they suspect you are using or under the influence of assorted substances and they know your past history of convictions, they might require you to want counseling or rehabilitory treatment as a condition of your continued employment.

Now, do I think that's right? No. If you are no longer on parole or probation for your conviction, I don't ponder your personal habits should be anyone's business but your own. Nevertheless, if you are still underneath supervision, I would nicely inform my employer that as a requirement of my supervision, I'm already involved within recovery programming, and evacuate it at that. Hopefully that would be sufficient satisfactory for them.

*Note: Personally, I think specifically an invasion of your privacy AND an insult to your recovery. If this is the situation, if they can't enlighten you how they really feel just about your behavior and performance as an member of staff, maybe you should find work elsewhere since it escalates into a much larger problem. Obviously they are setting you up to fail, anyway. They've already judge you based on your ancient, and regardless of whether or not you have completed your time and compensated your debt to society (which people who hold never served any time really don't seem to place a soaring value on, but, insist upon it), they are still attempting to pigeon-hole you as someone who doesn't know how to deal near your addiction or whatever problems they are branding you beside.

Find a different job, or find yourself a good legal representative. Above all, maintain track in a touch notebook or something about this issue. Everytime they mention your conviction, keep track of it, contained by case you do expire up having to clutch them to court for harrassment or whatever...

Cheers, and flawless luck.

Other Answers:
Not if you quit they can't
They can't require that, but it's their right to fire you because of that, so it's really up to you.
No, they cannot but they can fire you from your job if you seize high or capture drunk at your job though
your employer isn't required to save you employed if you are a drunk or a drug addict. almost every company have drug and alcohol policies in place that allow for instantaneous termination under these circumstances, what are your companies policies? thats what you enjoy to find out. without that information nobody here can answer you. in actual fact it seems to me you are getting a break, they are giving you the randomness to get comfort instead of just straight up firing you.
If it be in at hand policies and procedures yes..if not no..but they cn fire you after so lose lose situation there.
Sometimes they can if you work contained by public service such as law enforcement, teaching, the military or some medical fields or if it is bit of company policy that you agreed to (perhaps unknowingly) when taking the job. People who operate thickset equipment, drive busses or otherwise can be fired for having such charges (based on it is a trouble to others) can give you a choice of that or termination. Otherwise no they can't. Look contained by your contract or company policy and if you never agreed to such provisions you can't be held to them.
The employer has the right to call off you if he believes your problem could cause any problems for him as a business owner!

If he's of a mind to try to keep you on his staff, he can put together therapy and jumbled drug testing a condition of your continued employment. Count yourself VERY lucky if he's feeling like to do that and go catch HELP!
No. You don't have to do anything your employer requires of you. That would be slavery.

But if you don't, they can fire you.
Your employeer can fire you if you hold a drug or alcohol problem. You will probably get caught within a random interview sooner or later. Many companies today own a program in place where on earth you can get give a hand if you have a problem. But, you enjoy to make the choice yourself past if becomes a problem beside your job. Most places will permit you take personal time bad for rehab. But after you are caught in a chaotic test or otherwise, it's too slowly.
The answer to your questions is tremendously simple, yes your employer can require that you go to a drug and alcohol ill-treat program. You have a choice. You can be in motion or you don't have to move about. If you chose to go you will probably know how to keep your work, if you chose not to go you will probably be fired.

99% of current daytime employers require their applicants to embezzle a drug test prior to hiring them, what bring in you think they want to own one they suspect of using alcohol or drugs working for them with adjectives the liabilities that could appear if for some reason you agree on to get drunk or lofty and cause an stroke of luck.

Do yourself, family and friends a favor, catch the help you obligation, save your position. You will feel seriously better about yourself, your home and friends will be extremely proud of you.

I hope this has be of some use to you, good luck.

If you don't pick up anything for retirement because your lifestyle. What proposal would you offer?

Question:I can not save for retirement because I hold a combining debt of $63153.2(student loans, credit cards)
I promise my whole loved ones to pick the tab of the education of my siblings and when my parents draw from old clear for ther retirement for the rest of their life. Under that condition when I be 18 I sign a contract promising to pay my siblings background and my parents retirement. Part of the condition included my parents paid contained by full the education for me and living costs for 10 years.
I enjoy been analysing my energy, our lifestyles. I have to wage for my siblings up to $20000 a year. Once they graduate approximate in 5 to 10 years for adjectives of them. My parents will be aprox 70s. And I will be starting to pay for them. Lets articulate they live 100 which is possible. I will be in my past due sixties at that time with no nest egg at all.
Should I expect the social guarantee as an alternative?
I graduated this may at the age of 28 beside a bachelors. I just attain an employment wich will pay me 41K a year.

Answers:
I strongly insist on that you do a budget and stick to it. Maybe go out smaller number often or cut rear on shopping.
Social security will not settle out that much each month.

For retirement, I would acquire a Roth IRA and put away at least $200/month.
For your kids coaching, I would seek a 529 plan.
For your parents, they should aim a variable annuity. It guarantees to reward income for life when they retire.

Other Answers:
I would not count on Social Security because at this rate, near won't be any by the time you need it
There will be no social indemnity by the time you retire. Be prepared to live out your retirement in poverty.
Live efficient, die young and craft a good looking corpse.
capably because of your lifestyle I would assume your living for the now, and not the adjectives, guess you'll have to pray social financial guarantee stays in place and be a walmart door greeter till you can't no more.
You didn't sign a particularly good operation, there. I hope you close to the profession you choose because it looks like you'll be working until you drop.

Realistically, though, you could fall up being competent to pay of your debts. My father took an hasty retirement, then worked member time until he turned 60. Now he still does occasional jobs and lives comfortably on his social protection. We help him out, so perchance you'll have kids that minister to you?!? It's a thought, anyway.
get the book "your money or your life" by joe dominguez and vicki robbin, and read it, from the library if you can.
I'm gone wondering how you ended up surrounded by an agreement like that. Why would you be responsible for paying for your siblings' educations? I guess you agreed to it, and you did draw from ten years of expenses and an education... but that's a big judgment for an 18-yr.-old to make, and it does not nouns entirely fair to me.

You own to work off the credit cards first, after the student loans, before you can consider any benevolent of savings or investments. If you don't, you're purely kidding yourself, as you can't accumulate money while high-interest loans are growing on you.

Congratulations on the degree and the up to date job. You'll necessitate more than a 41K salary to trademark your situation work, however. If the agreement is binding, either officially or, to you, ethically, than pay stale the debt as fast as you can and consequently consult a finance expert for your subsequent move. And good luck. :)
1. The contract you signed at age 18 is probably unenforceable, surrounded by fact, probably not itself a valid contract, because you give no "consideration" as part of the wrangle. I don't think you are obligated by that contract.

2. What in the order of scholorships and work/study for your siblings?

3. Parents don't "own" their emancipated adult children. If you grain totally responsible for them, then, I guess, you owe them a 35 year hoary house trailer sitting in your driveway. They can live in attendance and cook their own food and stay out of your way and your house.

4. Don't expect ever to attain a social security check. You're "too childlike," the cupboard will be bare by the time you're contained by your sixties.

5. Open a Roth IRA now and put the maximum amount of money into it respectively year.

Summer job?

Question:I am 14 and really bored over summer. Does any one know of a place I might be able to get hold of a job within Battle Ground, WA? Something that possibly has to do near cooking or making coffee or something?

Answers:
well u could catch a job babysitting

Other Answers:
Child labor within Canada
I'm not sure if you can get a position in a restaurant at 14...depends on the legitimate working age there surrounded by your state.

However, you can maybe receive another job, similar to babysitting, walking dogs, house sitting, lawn work, a quality newspaper route, odd job.

Your school should know what the work law are in your state...if there's a secretary nearby you can call her and ask.
Source(s):
Mom of 2 teens
Try a country club, sometimes they enjoy jobs for kids at their snack bar, that sort of thing (I worked at one when I be 13).
if you just want a summer situation you could mow peoples yards
Due to the child labor law, I don't believe you can work until you are 16 in any coffee houses, restaurants, etc..

However, nick a course in CPR and next do some babysitting. If that doesn't interest you, how about mowing lawns, cleaning houses or wash cars.

Perhaps there is a program surrounded by your city where you can volunteer for the elderly and do some cooking. I know that tons food shelters need volunteers and conceivably you would be able to cook and label coffee there.

Be merciful if you're not able to work justifiably until the age of 16. It will go by at full tilt. I think it's wonderful that you own such a great desire to work!! With your fabulous attitude, I suspect you will do well surrounded by life.

Enjoy your summer!!

P.S. I looked up the the Washington state.gov site and found some information for you concerning the age a worker must be. Click on the source below and I believe it will answer most of your question. It looks to me like you can work surrounded by some places with restrictions if you are 14.
