why are we expected to tip hackney cab drivers and hairdressers?
Question:some of them earn decent money, categorically more than me, so I don't see why I should pay extra especially after a 5-10 minute taxicab ride that cost a fiver!Answers:
Because usually, taxi drivers and hairdressers arent business owners, they are contractors. For example, my mother owns a quill salon. Her hairstylest either recompense her booth rent, or she gets a percentage of their charges. So the $30 of bucks you settle up for a haircut, the stylist individual sees $10 or so past its sell-by date it if they are lucky. Tips, however, are their's to keep.
Taxi drivers work genus of the same agency. They either lease the hackney carriage from the taxi company for a excise, or they get a percentage of the fare, not an hourly rate.
Nurses, etc, adjectives work in the service industry, but they get hold of a set salary or an hourly wage. They dont hold to shell out money to do their jobs.
Other Answers:
because they do us a service... If it werent for them we would be WALKING along passageway and we would all enjoy lopsided haircuts...
I never tip my barber. I've be with hairdressers just because everyday is becoming harder to find a barber. I've never tipped them, I dunno if I was supposed to. I guess in a minute I know I really need to turn to barbershops only.
I agree near you. I've never tipped a taxi driver and don't figure out why I should. I have tipped hairstylists, but never more than $5. I touch that they all should charge what they touch their services are worth. I don't feel that anyone making at lowest possible minimum wage should ever expect to be tipped for his/her services.
Well, if we look at all their responsabilities they deal with, is very respectful and considerate to tip these workers. First, hairdressers are indebted to you as far as asthetics goes--pleasing your fondness and trying to make out your desired style contained by haircut can be especially overwhelming and hard to reproduce. Just deem about it, we would not want a hairstyle that is so unsatisfying that it make us so insecure about ourselves. Imagine walking around near a hair style that make us more insecure and uneasy, to some people it would drive them nuts have to be walking around and he or she may be paranoid about others disadmiring his or her pelt. Terrible feeling. I give attention to hairdressers deserve an extra incentive to spark their creativity. Consider it a bonus, he or she will continue to be motivated to strive to effective perfection. That way everyone can be smug, both the client and hairdressers.
Now in the skin of a taxi driver, they typically own many liablities to pilfer care of that any nominal tip will be sure to save them balanced. Just estimate about adjectives the external shock thery have to experience, along near all the oscillation of the souk, especially with the not respectable volatility of the energy prices. Most drivers are not insulated from adjectives these external forces as compare to an average worker working for an influential company. Accidents may occur and is so, he or she have face the reprocussions. Is concrete to drive around in traffic as in good health, imagine driving just about 8-10 hours a week, and dealing with passanges that are as irritated as them, who are surrounded by the hurry to get a convinced destination. That is an intense moment and might cause too much stress. So an incentive to maintain them there is defensible. They make the best possible application to get you at your final destination at the fastest gait (althought some might cause frighten you by their opening of driving), but you'll get nearby in the bring to a close. Hope this helps.

Make a list of the pluses and minuses for respectively job. Then compare them. You could shift to your present employer and tell him that you get a better offer. Maybe he will clash it. That happened to my daughter. You enjoy nothing to lose by trying.
It would depend on my financial situation I guess. Money isn't everything, but you hold to be able to live, too.
Sometimes the benefits out weigh the $. Depends on how ecstatic you are with it. If you involve more money, approach your supervisor or boss about it. If it looks resembling you won't be considered for a raise any time soon, after perhaps it's time to look elsewhere.
Maybe you can ask bump up to your boss before decide quit
I would think roughly speaking it, if I was Jewish.
If I be you I would get the charge that you will like the best, also you enjoy to remember which one offers more things such as insurance and which one is more clear.
go beside your heart sweetie, think, if you want the other opportunity, look at the benefits, do you still get holidays bad, lots or personal and sick days, make a schedule of the pros and cons of each errand, then agree on which is the right job for you, and remember to follow your heart.
If you are content (and the package you describe is great) afterwards why leave? Your friends and fiancee are butting their nose in where on earth they don't belong. No, money IS NOT everything, in reality it means thoroughly little if you make more and find you revulsion your job. Do what YOU grain is right and tell your friends and fiancee you don't want their input, you are staying put. End of subject.
I had to form this same decision freshly a few months ago. I went ahead for the alteration! I think you should distribute out your resume, and during the interview, you should interview the employer! See how nice they are, and let them explain the benefits to you. You really are a short time ago going to have to solidity the pros and cons. Don't worry roughly what others are saying, you inevitability to be happy. What will trademark you happier, a bigger paycheck, or your place of work right now? Would you know how to go backbone if you weren't happy surrounded by six months? If so, go for it! I want you all the luck and cheer not only surrounded by your career, but contained by your coming marriage. I judge you'll make the right choice, you nouns like you hold a good herald on your shoulders!
It sounds like I would love your position! Money is definately not worth loosing enjoyment and exuberance. Stress and misery cost you everything in the long run. Loving the family you work with is a unusual thing, indeed, along near the amount of days off. If you can gross alot more money now, you can still do it following, so I would take my time next to this. Lastly, most people that work for a non profit are doing something for others and that alone is a huge item. Don't let others theory of what is important organize you away from this. Please wish a livelihood like yours on me! Listen to your own heart.
i contemplate the benefits make up for it...free robustness insurance? wow..and all those days of... thats pretty apt.money isnt everything.. if u can pay the bills and afford to live the brief is good. as long as you dont live contained by a nasty neighborhood. i have a sneaking suspicion that you are fine with the employment you have. i tight if you are happy beside it.
You have the option not to leave your current chore just because you want to own your long holiday. Try to get a long check out of if possible, some employer can tolerate with this charitable of situation.

describe him to be the back up. later tell him he have penis breath Apparently, your boss depends on you and needs someone to be in attendance doing the work. Think of the bind he would be in if not a soul was available to get something done the duties you normally feel. Depending how much my livelihood depended on the job, I would find a backup to win the vacation or postpone my time off while looking during my free time for another job that allowed vacation. I try to hang onto the duty I have while looking for another career that way I hold no financial worries. If you like your mission, you will do what is best to keep the mission; however, vacations written contained by company policy that are then denied are slightly a different matter. Actually, surrounded by this case, it sounds as though your boss have you. If you have the leave days, you are entitled to use them. However, in ANY company (that I know of), those days must be approved. And it is true, surrounded by situations where your position is important, backup would be required. I'd say if you really involve those days (unless it's an emergency, in which luggage you should talk to HR), suck it up and address to some co-workers about covering.
Outsourcing sucks? Is Bush control responsible for this?
Question:Foreigeners are getting our jobs. It sucks.Answers:
No.... Bush is not responsible, most of it adjectives started back surrounded by the Clinton days when he was too busy bang Monica on the desk to do his job properly.
The chief problem is costs being driven up contained by the developped world thanks to:
- Greedy Unions demanding more pay envelope for less hours
- Bleeding heart liberal environmentalist types bringing surrounded by stack loads of new regulations to protect the environment, which cost companies a fortune to gather round.
- Loads of new Health & Safety Regulations mortal introduced all the time (also costs companies a fortune to avoid falling foul of them).
- Additional excessive regulations one thrust upon companies dealing with Animals from lobbying from Animal rights groups, who also nouns terror campaign against them.
- Insurance costs being pushed up by Frivoulous directive suits thanks to ambulance chasing lawyer.
Remember - It was Clinton who raise more & more taxes to fill the federal coffers, Bush who proposed adjectives them.... and things are even worse in the UK near Tony Blair (who learn't everything off Clinton beforehand) - 82% of the cost of a gallon of petrol (gas) here is governing body tax (fuel duty + 17.5% sale tax).
The more a government pushes up it's tariff bills, the more pay rise demands a company have to try and meet (typical council rates bill in the UK have gone up from about lb600 to lb1200+ since Blair get in)...... it was probably duplicate deal backbone when Clinton doing it too, so the companies eventually decided "screw this for a laugh" (or words to that affect), let's bugger rotten to India or China where it's cheaper.

I outsourced my mistress and she sucks too!
They are responsible for everything to be exact wrong with the world. Ozone? Bush. AIDS? Bush. Amber Alerts? Bush. It's matching the world over. Get used to it. How can you expect society to advance if you don't embrace these change.
No you can thank the Clinton Admin. for doing that crap
it's cheaper for buisness, and the good job are still here...non of the jobs that require any sort of nurture are being sent in thatblame globalization and unions NO, IT IS THE BIG COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY ARE VICIOUS AND WANT ALL THE MONEY...
Damn, dont you monitor 20/20, you idiot? Outsourcing makes the stuff we buy cheaper and does not rob any of our jobs. Get your *** stale the couch and go find a job. Stop blaming things on others.
I don't know but I can't stand to even look at Bush's obverse anymore!NO Bush is not responsible for outsourcing, just fitting old pure American greed is. You might swot a thing or two nearly business if you study some management within college. Its called capitolism. Businesses can outsource consistent jobs overseas for much smaller number money than they could hire workers here. Not a conspiracy, just business.
Outsourcing be around long before Bush be elected. Learn your history!!
I am an outsource company if your work is getting outsourced to other countries doesn't that say something in the order of your own work ethicsOr perchance you just can't do the assignment correctly
oir hey think this path even maybe it's because your companies can below pay and over ill-treat the employees and they don't want to do this to their own countrymen
NO its not Bush's reprimand. Its a matter of business. Businesses attain cheap labor overseas than they would here. It saves coporations big bucks when peole will do labor for cheap. When relatives work here they want decent wages and a benefits pack like healthcare, time off, dentist, etc. Overseas ppl are just elated making wages they dont really need benefits packages. I know if I be a corporation I would take my business overseas to rescue myself some money. Outsourcing is a win win situation businesses save money and those overseas have job. Yes - a different administration might put contained by some protectionist policies (i.e. tariffs, taxes) ... but not one whose individual agenda is big business.
Outsourcing started before Bush.
We should stop this but not sure if we can.
And what would the other empire do for jobs.
Oh I know we could throw money at them.
No that won't work associates will complain about that consequently.
Well it's easier to complain they have a solution I guess.
Outsourcing is a British problem too undesirably. I's not the government but greedy Companies that's responsible contained by the UK. yes
What makes you ponder Bush has anything to do near outsourcing? It's a business decision pure and simple. The same item happened when job moved from the North to the South. Primarily to get away from union and lower the cost of wages. Was it outsourcing then? Sure it be. The jobs freshly leave the country is the solely difference.
If Juan, Habib,or Chun can do the same aspect job you can. And they will do it for smaller quantity. And it doesn't cost that much to ship the goods over here. What do you ruminate is going to happen? Face the facts. It is a intercontinental economy. Maddy - you are responsible. Here's why...
Take a look at the tag on your pants, shirt, shoes...they're adjectives from Bangladesh, Honduras, Sri Lanka.
Now, take a look at adjectives your appliances in your home. Same item...India, South Korea, Brazil.
Are you following this? Now look at the books you are reading. Where are they printed? China? Viet Nam? Mexico?
YOU are buying adjectives these things. They are cheap. You are not willing to retribution for goods made surrounded by the U.S. So, YOU are resonsible for all these job getting outsourced and shipped overseas. Yo...Maddy...what do you do for a living? Are your friends and neigbors buying your stuff? Or are they buying stuff from El Salvador? See what I mean?

Economics 101 If you dont work for a lower wage, they will.
No, you involve more money so you can drive big expensive inefficient cars, and be the biggest polluters in the world, and excess the most energy, resources, and anything else that can be thin.
The (average) american lifestyle is too expensive. No wonder the companies are looking outwards... No, its not the Bush administration's fault, per se...as much as it gall me to not blame them. It is the natural consequence of instantaneous worldwide communication and data nouns. Global free competition in the service industry is merely the next logical step, since they are already into sturdy goods assembly and sales. For America to hang on to to retain its market share contained by the service or IT fields, would require that we price those services competitively, and we may not be prepared to do that.
A sorry state of affairs if all you muse about is your own regional or national discount, but a great equalizer for emerging nations...we Americans enjoy been the king of the hummock for a very long time...time to share near the rest of the world. Those "foreigners" you speak of deserve a quality life span, too...sorry it upsets Americans that it might just be at their expense, but where on earth else would it come from? One always builds trade by outdoing the competition to attract their client groundwork...that's just the path it goes!
Only the American business world can stop outsourcing, and they are not predictable to spend more to get one and the same or less from American workers. The bottom rank is the bottom line, after adjectives. Outsourcing is the result of:
1) Greed
2) Capitalism
3) Thinking that human beings are separate and don't deserve the same treatment
The aspiration of a for-profit company is to MAKE A PROFIT. That means maximize sale (revenue) and minimize expense. One of the BIGGEST expenses any company will have is the cost of labor (i.e., salaries/wages). If a company can "outsource" (hire someone within another part of the world) your opening and save on pay, benefits (health ins., dental., 401K, etc...)then they will. Their goal is to look after PROFIT, not PEOPLE.
The Only Sin is Separation
If we chew over that we're separate from each other...that human beings really are THAT different, afterwards we get to "trade name up" rules, laws, policies etc...that treat respectively other disparately. "Well, we can pay a Chinese party $0.40 cents a DAY to make clothes, but an American is worth $250 a sunshine. Why? "We have sophisticated standard of living." AND we have a lower standard of compassionate. At some point, the Chinese, Indonesians, Indians, Mexicans, etc... will want a higher standard of living too...they'll want condition insurance and 401K plans...what will happen to the prices of things after? Oh, that's right: we don't really care in the order of the future. We typically simply look a quarter or two down the line.
At some point, we stipulation to start putting people first. Which child contained by the world doesn't deserve food...education....vigour care....a home? We draw lines on charts, graphs, map and in the sand.
Is here a line surrounded by your heart? If so, for whom? Why?
I wish you Peace and Consciousness. I ponder the American consumer is largely to blame for outsourcing, and also for sweatshop labor and similar conditions. We insist on an abundant supply of merchandise and we insist on paying the cheapest prices possible for our stuff. If a company cannot raise prices and remain competitive, they enjoy to cut costs. Cutting the costs associated with the crude materials can make the product's talent go down so the solely real choice is to pay lower wages. And some of these wages are VERY low--- workers who variety beads for household decorations (like Mardi Gras bead or Christmas tree garlands) in some factory in China kind about $2 a daylight and no WAY will you find American labor for that salary. Likewise, the big computer companies approaching Dell who are shipping their support centers to India are paying their techs less than $10/hour (WAY less--- some reports put it closer to $4/hour) when an American tech would want $20/hour or more for alike job.
We simply cannot own it both ways. We cannot walk into Wal-Mart or Target and buy a sack of 6pr socks for $5.00 and expect that the people who made those socks are working surrounded by the US. If you do not like outsourcing and sweatshop labor, you should stop supporting the companies that do it. It will cost you more to buy things you want but if satisfactory people do it, conceivably the companies will start paying attention...

www.mediamatters.org No, but it does take away deeply of worrying about how bills will draw from paid.
Nope, newly stuff!
No but it helps,ALOT!nope it merely makes you live more comfortable In a roundabout channel. You can afford all of the nice things that you enjoy always considered necessary to buy, but it will make true friends and true love be tested to the breaking point.
If you are contained by love then money will form things better. As long as you use it right.
AMEN fire4511Not unless you are completely shallow and superficial, but it can buy you the freedom to seek true bliss without have to worry more or less day to daytime problems like bills and debt and such. hell yah money can buy u comfort.. money these days can buy anything you want, cross it, happiness, love heading it u can buy it on Ebay lol but really money can buy u anything
It would in my valise. Ppl. that say it can't must hold never had any. I'm VERY content when i have money.Depressed when I don't.
Happiness comes from inside. It is a state of mindNo no....but if you have money you don't hold to stress over how to fulfill ur 'needs' and u just keep hold of focusing on ur wants....and ur desires don't always trade name you happy. and exuberance is never complete unless one is content and money can never buy contentment....it leads to of late wanting more so you can't be happy even if you buy the in one piece world!
Its totaly depends upon ones thinking , how he feel almost money, but as far as my view is concern money can creat urs elation but itb cant make u merry.
In some cases yes ,money can buy happiness...but within many money don't works. But contained by today's world, it looks as if money is everything, every one is running for money,so this shows that money can buy happiness. But here are many sorrows associated next to a rich man as well, but person poor is even worse
I think possibly yes... Yes, but in the short residence. Being happy but broke doesn't minister to either. It may be even worse.
No specifically not. It's not worth it. NO amount of money is worth being despondent. Loved ones, family, children (if you choose to own them), and meaningful things provide true jubilation.
I a short time ago started a investigational profession 2 days ago, but get call 2 interview at a much better situation how do i pilfer a daytime rotten?
Question:i have no time off-i of late started & could get within trouble esp. if i dont get this charge? but if i dont go i could be endorsement an opportunity of a lifetime...that will make me sunny. what do i do2 get around this? do i bring up to date my my prospective employer i cant take time bad to interview?Answers:
this same kinda thing happen to me before a time or two in actual fact. I told the interviewer/prospective employer the situation and they arranged a lunch time interview or after hours/before hours interview. Maybe that will work for you. Employers realize that things like this evolve. Its worth a shot anyway isn't it? Heck yeah. go catch em....good luck
Other Answers:
Quit.
problem is what happends if you go and get the day bad and you get hired how are you going to relate your first manager that you get hired yesterday and quit cause if you dont put within your 2 weeks notice after thats bad transcript you have too if its a better position, look out for you job first
Source(s):
i'm within the same situation in a minute, but i've work there for resembling 1 1/2 so its harder
You'll never win if you don't take risks.. Roll the dice and give the name in sick from explosive diarreah. Trust me, they will not want details of that.
report them someone died. You should set the interview up for a time that you aren't in work, that mode you don't have to hold work off. When I be working at one place I always made my appointment for an interview after working hours or the weekend. SCHEDULE IT DURING LUNCH
explain this to the tentative prospective employer and see if they can arrange an interview at a time that will work for you.
Tell your prospective interviewer that unfortunately you are powerless to interview with him at the moment. If they want you, they will diary a more convenient interview. Just ask, dont be scared, they want you close to you want them. if you feel that this is the charge of a life time pocket a chance and ask your investigational boss for the time off
Arrange the interview for when you achieve off
SAY YOU HAVE JURY DUTYOR YOUR MOM IS ON TRIAL
LIFE IS SHORT
DO WHAT YA WANT
SCREW THE REST
see if the interview can be planned after quitting time of your job Try to net the interview for when you got sour work at your other job.
If specifically not possible...
Say you own an emergency dental appointment.
...an emergency doctor appointment.
....you were call for jury duty
Ask if you can have time stale during the day but you will receive it up by working late other days.
Talk to your boss and frankly share him your situation. If he understand you, he can tender you your day-off. If not, then you hold to know the rules, if you could avail of a right to be on day past its sell-by date. Good luck on your interview. I would schedule my interview within the morning and call into my livelihood and let them know that I am running rather late. Don't help yourself to the whole hours of daylight off from your opportunity, just programme the interview around it. Some interviewers will understand that you own a job and they are mostly more than predisposed to accomodate your interviewing time.
passing an oppurtunity sometimes could also be a blessing contained by deguise. you are only two days surrounded by your new post and you are already thinking of another interview? so sure are a greedy one, and unfaithful.
Try to rota the interview over your lunch time. Maybe schedule the interview after working hours. Tell the prospective employer the situation and they may accommodate you. You may also gain extra points because you really want to work for them. This is something that employers look for, loyalty. You hold already been hired by this company, phone in sick and move about for the interview. No-one can make you come to work if you're sick. The subsequent day when you move about to work, pretend as though you were really sick, and still are, but you come to work anyways. It never looks good when you send for in sick after one at a job for 2 days. So let's utter you take the time rotten and make yourself look discouraging in the eyes of your alien employer and then don't achieve the other job what do you do? You hold to do what feels right to you.
Do not call for in "sick" because you'd simply be telling your potentially strange employer that you're a cheat.
Most companies will set up interviews before or after ordinary working hours or on the phone during lunch breaks. They know that the people they want already enjoy jobs so they tend to be flexible. If they will not set up an outside of everyday business hours interview, it's not a company you want to work for anyway. They are too rigid.
You could take the year off and procure a doctors note that you be home sick with............voice 24 hour flu.Doctors notes work powerfully. Grrr... I hate it when I unknowingly hire citizens like you. You made a commitment to your brand new employer. What does it say around you that you're looking to skip out after 2 days for a better offer? Then again, probably they are better off minus you...
P.S.- All the people here coming up next to lies for you should be ashamed of themselves!
If you think this other commission is well worth it and you can't arrange to interview during your lunch break or after your core hours, try to rota the interview for first thing contained by the morning. Ask your employer if they mind you arriving an hour or so late due to an appointment. Go to the interview and generate sure you nail it! Just ring in sick thats adjectives you have to do and if you achieve the new opening there you turn dont have to verbs about it at adjectives, well if you dont next you still have the exotic job you have in the first place.
Just wondering....?
Question:Has anyone ever been discriminated at work because of their substance:Answers:
Yes! And overweight people infer that it's only one method, but I'm underweight and it happens to me frequently. I hold been told straight up that I be not going to be hired by several idiots because I "look like I'm on crack". I be not and am not and it's not my fault I can't gain counterbalance.
People have this figure of how everyone is supposed to look and if you step out of that mold you are treated like your smaller number than human or something is wrong with you and profusely of the time they don't fit that perfect model their selves.
I have no proposal, we can't change relatives, but know you are not alone.
Other Answers:
Nope.
no Haven't tried. Not yet working, that's why. Anyway, at institution, we just kid around roughly speaking that. Kinda weird at first, but it kinda develops as an endearment. Okay, I don`t know that's just me. :)
certainly, i think so, podgy people appear to be mean to me, i guess cuase im surrounded by really good shape
no, I wouldn't put up near it!no Discrimination is everywhere and the answer is a big YES. I'm a large woman but will not tolerate discrimination surrounded by any form and certainly not within the workplace. And to anyone that makes rude portly comments... your ignorance is showing so grow up.
