First bad, I don't understand why the dispatcher would convey you to drive after the culprit! That would be puting yourself in more serious peril. (Which is probably why it is against the policy at work, understandably)
It could go any way, unambiguously. Your boss could somehow convince them that you were doing your utter best to protect the store and beg for another casual on your behalf. You may just finale up being written up. On the other paw, they could fire you as a lesson to future potential hero.
