Answers: Astra Grant is a SCAM. I never applied for a grant and I was sent a check in the mail saying I was approved. I called the FTC and they told me the check would clear my account and when I wire the money to the company, a few days later the check will come back as a fraud and I would get involved in legal matters. The envelope that I received is one that I have at home and it had no return address. I called the number and an Indian man answered and said to deposit the check and wire him the $3500. DON'T DO IT!
SCAM especially if that company asks you for money first before you can even apply for a grant

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.
Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.
I think its a scam also. I got a check in the mail for 3700.00 saying that I was approved for a grant that I didn't apply for and that there was fee that needed to be paid (which was the same amount of the check I got) and that once I depoisted the check into my account and sent them the money I would get a check for 45,000 within 48 hours. I called the number listed and spoke with someone saying that they give out 300 grants a year. I told him that my lawyer would be calling to verify and he quickly rushed me off the phone. Don't be fooled by this one...it gets you because its a acutal live check for a significant amount of money. Its not worth it in the long run though. I wish it was more than that I could do to stop them.

I also could not find the company website.Answers: If you can't find a company on the web AND they ask you for money surrounded by advance, those are surefire signs that the proffer is a SCAM.

Have Amway a.k.a Quixtar/Network 21 be disqualified surrounded by the UK?
Amway the pyramid scheme 'cult' is the subject of controversy adjectives over the world.I have hear that it's UK branch commonly known as Network 21 or Quixtar own been barred by the OFT in 2006/7.what's the agreement?Answers: (1) Amway is neither a pyramid scheme nor cult, both are ridiculous statements.
(2) Neither Amway nor N21 have been expelled in the UK. What have happened is that the DTI (now BERR), after a concerted movement by anti-amway zealots, mostly in the US, file claims against Amway, Network 21, and Britt WorldWide. N21 and BWW were the with the sole purpose two of the distributor organizations operating surrounded by the UK over which the DTI had jurisdiction. Others included WWD, IBS, WinBiz and more.
In response to the claims Amway made some change in the UK, including putting a hold on sponsoring for most of 2007 and terminate a number of Diamonds associated beside the IBS organisation and effectively closing that organization down.
The DTI dropped the travel case against BWW after they elected to pull out of the UK open market, which is a relatively small one.
The DTI also dropped the case against Network 21, however N21 continues to remain fully commited to working next to Amway in the UK flea market.
The Amway case have hearings in the past Christmas, and the judge is expected to manufacture public his findings shortly, perhaps this week. From what I get the drift, even if the findings are against Amway, Amway will continue to operate surrounded by the UK with their "new" business model. The unusual model is not substantially different and incorporates many of the change Amway has be making in other market - which in my assessment primarily means they're simply enforce rules they've always have!
No its not banned but court asked AMWAY official to control some uneventful activities of N21 and here was audible range in court and AMWAY give the undertakings in court that it will check the goings-on.Morever
