How is Exxon's business practice legal/good for the discount?
This article:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080201/ap_o...
highlights the problem. Exxon "posted the largest quarterly profit by a U.S. company", and
"also set a U.S. record for the biggest quarterly profit, posting web income of $11.7 billion for the final three months of 2007, beating its own stain of $10.71 billion in the fourth quarter of 2005.
The previous transcript for annual profit was $39.5 billion, which Exxon Mobil made within 2006."
The top 3 profit records immediately belong to Exxon.
What is wrong with this picture?
American businesses are fledgling from rising input and transportation costs, family struggle to fuel their vehicles and roast their homes, and yet big grease does better and better.
Can't we stop CEOs from bringing in outrageously excessive profits?
Answers: I'm not a EXXON expert, by no scheme, but there's a couple things about your premise that bother me...
1.) The top 3 profit history have to belong to someone, why is it that it's unpromising if an Oil Company has them?
2.) If you do a precursory serach of grease companies, it's most of them that are providing significant funds to alternative fuel research, but your argument makes it seem to be like they're lone jacking the price up on gas... If gas is so expensive at $3/gallon, why do we, as Americans keep paying $4/cup at Starbuck's?
3.) Why would you want to stop a CEO from providing thins such as job, funding for scientific research, fudning for school, funding for healthcare clinics, etc.?
The sad truth, is that Americans DEMAND petrochemicals much more than other countries. We use more grease & gas than the entire world...so, if big oil is so evil, than why do we keep hold of paying them?
It is a small problem.
But PLEASE realize that Exxon has to own money to continue to buy grease at the new greater prices and to explore for more. It isn't free.
Also you need to realize that our federal and state treasuries construct MORE MONEY THAN EXXON DOES on the gas sold.
How is that fair? If the elected representatives truly wanted to comfort us they would lower the taxes and control their spending and growth.

did you notice that Exxon's profit border is a LOT SMALLER than MicroSoft's?? or Apple's?? or G00GLE's??
hello?
Exxon made a lot by investing abundantly and selling a lot, not by price gouge.
one can share your anguish but there is no on the spot remedy.
in unequivocal economy-control free commerce, the happenings cannot be avoided.
the public suffering are because of monopoly, take up the issue underneath monopoly control laws, some sprite can be expected.
there are reliable things cannot be avoided, but common citizen enjoy to live with it.
Yahoo + Microsoft > G00GLE ! What do you have an idea that?
The big news surrounded by the BIZZ world is "Microsoft offers to buy Yahoo for 44.6 bn dlrs". Can this merger effect G00GLE within any way? Is it an cessation to the dominance of G00GLE in internet bazaar? or will it be the biggest mistake of MICROSOFT?Answers: It'll be interesting.
I'm fascinated by how a company worth over 3 billion is deemed a "failure" because it is poorer than G00GLE.
So the world turns.
I have a hunch that this will be so multi faceted that it's not easy to gage how it's going to turn out. I lean towards a downturn of Microsoft.
it will be the biggest mistake of yahoo. :)
they can compete with G00GLE, but they can't topple it down. not anytime soon.
Implement an inventory system.?
I work at manufacturing. Part of my available job is ordering supplies for the plant. Scissors, cartridge, knives, etc. I would similar to to start some type of system that would help me preserve up with where on earth these supplies are going. Our employees use an exessive amount of these things, probably stealing as in good health. I have some design, but I would like someone elses evaluation.Answers: Only thing I can meditate of is a locked cabinet or room depending on the amount of supplies, that only the supervisors own keys to and maintain a log of who accesses it.
yep. you noticeably need a log of some sort and someone to control the assignment of the materials. if items are just out contained by the open nobody is going to protection about taking them. but if their nickname is attached to the items they'll be sure to care.
