Separate companies?

Whats the point of having different companies adjectives owned by one? For instance viacom owns mtv, vh1, nickelodeon(tv channels), harmonix (software designers), addicting games (website), neopets and much more but why not have them be one company?

Is it better to be happy or work for a souless corporation and earn plenty of money?

Answers: happy.
you have to ask this ?
forget about the $$$$
make a decent salary at something you love.
happiness is most important.
next, i would say comes money - it's hard to be happy when you are broke. it is possible to make a lot of money without working for a big corporation.
we all work to pay our bills, its a bonus if you enjoy what you do to earn a crust,
The main purpose of any job is to provide the basics (food, shelter, clothing) to you and your family. Anything after that (more money, happiness) is a bonus. The job serves the family; not the other way around.
Depends on how happy money makes you. For those that don't mind just getting by with a job they love, kudos to them. But if having more spending money makes you happiest, then it doesn't really matter if your job does.
Depending on how many family members depend on you or whether you work to have a better off life (happy) - you can pretty much decide for yourself.

or,

on the other hand you can help the souless corp. by helping it gain what it lacks -just a thought-
Go for the money.

Why M/S is placed before any companies?

Answers: M/S is short for Messrs which is the plural for Mr in French. The term M/S is generally placed before the names of partnership firms to indicate that it is firm comprising several partners and is not a sole proprietorship. For instance, M/S Batliwala & Co (there are partners other than Batliwala in the firm of Baltiwala & Co). In India, the term is also sometimes mistakenly used in the names of joint-stock companies such as for example M/S Reliance Industries Limited. This is not correct since a joint stock company under law is an artificial person by itself; but looks like the practise has caught on.
A company is formed by group of people. to give respect prefix M/s. Messrs. so and so company.

V call a single person Mr or Miss. for a group of persons we say Messrs. so and so.
