Recent intercontinental marketing fiasco?

I'm trying to find a good communication article & event to use as an example of a global marketing fiasco. I want to find something that happen within the finishing year in which a company operate in one country go to another and failed marvellously due to differences in culture. Think Wal-Mart contained by Germany, but more recent. Any examples?

Answers: Marketing fiasco.

Does anyone know if walmart is a good place to work?

Answers: No. Wal-Mart is not a good place to work. At all.
At the store level, you're poorly paid. get poor benefits, and have to work really hard. The flip side is, you know they will be around to cut your next paycheck and they're not going to fire you capriciously as long as you're doing your job.

At the corporate level (office jobs, IT, buyers, etc.) pay is a little behind the curve, benefits are sometimes, how should i put this, "creatively quirky," but the experience you will get might be very valuable since Wal-Mart often leads the way in business and IT initiatives.

A wife of a friend was a merchandiser for Wal-Mart and had some interesting stories to tell about it. They frequently scheduled big IT projects to be installed on Thanksgiving or Christmas day since, hey, employees are going to be sitting around at home anyway so they may as well VPN into work and do something. And the company had its big holiday party in late January because it's so much cheaper to throw a party outside of the busy Christmas season. In other words, they have no respect for such cultural artifacts as holidays!
