The cost of going public.?
I read in a Wikipedia discussion that for a business to "jump public" takes roughly speaking a year and half a million $.Is this true?
If so, why not buy controlling interest within a penny share company and re-christen it?

Why not buy a company selling cheaply and then net it public? Two things. 1. you need to hold cash within the company's coffers of that $500K in lay down to bring it public, (and there are probably other ways to spend the $500K) and 2. in that needs to be a open market for the shares once it's gone public. Just taking the company public doesn't attract investments to it. So your result is a "public" company, with $500,000 smaller quantity money in the sandbank than before you took it public.
Companies that budge from private to public do so, because they've built up the value of their company and determined they can go the shares. So it's not a bad view to take something public, but you want to know the flea market, ahead of time.
no not true, unless you count the money paid to the investment bank for raising property. (if i remember right they get going on for 5% of the money raised) There are a ton of OTC:BB stocks that pay subsequent to nothing for going public.
