Why do bank operate from Bermuda / Caymans etc?
Im trying to work out why so many foreign bank / insurance companys set up operations surrounded by Bermuda etc. Im aware of the TAX FREE status but what are some other reasons?They appear to setup limited liability companies but im not sure what the beneift of this is?

Answers: No taxes is the largest reason. They also submit more privacy than you will find in the US. although not as much as they did a few years ago. Oh yea... they are nice places to drop by on business trips once or twice a year.
